Seats are designed by the same (PSA owned) company, Faurecia. Probably designed in Portugal but don't quote me on that. The overall interior design is made in Yokoama, Japan and the exterior in Turin, Italy, and it shows.

Even though the vehicle seems to have an inverted Acura badge and a bit of a Peugeot steering wheel overall it's really nicely designed and put together.
This is a Chinese spaceship. I like the interior and the exterior. This is a car that I can pay for. The worst part is, I am living in the EU where you’re forced to drive Dacia. Dacia is a branch of the Renault-Nissan Corp. This car is compared to the Dacia a next-generation spaceship light years ahead. The only thing I would miss here is a plug-in hybrid. If that car would have that option for let’s say 80 km (50 miles) pure electrical driving, it would be my favorite option.
@@akhadmea.2937 Check out their plug-in hybrid version which is called Uni-K IDD,130 km pure electrical driving, the company does want people to think this car looks like spaceship.😜😜😜
Chinese brands are really excelling at exterior design and interior technology which is not surprising, given their high-tech manufacturing prowess, easy access to suppliers etc. But they seem to fall behind in powertrains and platforms: transverse 1.5-litre engine and FWD in a near-luxury car is disappointing... I guess it's just a stopgap and they see no need to invest in gasoline engines with all-electric platforms around the corner.

The UNI-K looks really great. If anything, the Changan logo looks a little bit old fashioned on such a modern car. Quite Audi Q8 or Lamborghini Urus from the side, but that is no bad thing!
Chinese brands are known to have a joint venture with reputable car companies anyways. Changan, in particular, has a 50-50 joint venture with Mazda to develop engines for its cars, and they source their transmissions (not sure what specific) from Toyota's Aisin. Joint ventures are necessary to enter the Chinese market, so technology transfers and collaborations happen all the time. Take for example Volvo's DNA in which before, we can only see on luxury cars with luxury price tag. Now, we can see Volvo DNA on economy cars thanks to Geely buying Volvo and the overall economies of scale of China's manufacturing.
