The idea that people can be excessively loyal is quite alarming. It's concerning to think that regardless of a leader's shortcomings, some individuals believe it's an act of loyalty to potentially endanger the well-being of an entire nation.
So true
That goes for both sides but neither side sees it
Or maybe they don't want an authoritarian fascist to destroy their democracy.
It's especially alarming, when you hear (mostly older) people recognizing everything that is wrong with a country and its politicians yet they continue to vote for these same politicians/parties, because "they have always voted for them".
you shouldn't have loyalty to a political party, but loyalty to family, friends, spouses is the most important thing a person could have. Yet these people who are "loyal" to political parties often couldn't care less about personal loyalty.
My dad is an immigrant. And he said the same thing. If you come to this country you adapt to it. You don't like it go back home. We shouldnt change to their culture/religion
My former mother in law said pretty much the same, "If you're gonna live in this country and work in this country you should at least learn the Damn Language!!"
Exactly my thinking.
Whoopi has the nerve to bring up loyalty, when she was friends with Trump all those years until 2015. Now we see the way she talks about him. 🤷♂️
Trump was a democrat back then...
Loyalty doesn't mean being a lemming and falling off the cliff. I am loyal to my friends, but If I found out they were disgusting individuals I wouldn't be friends with them anymore. You can be a Republican and not a Trump supporter. But can't expect much from a lemming-like you, just fall in line and agree with everything.
Democrats have no loyalty, and I know cuz I was one of them but I was not hardcore liberal so of course on social media they were always saying I'm not a real Democrat cuz I'm not Progressive enough, and now they tell me I was never a Democrat LOL Democrats are about as loyal as Hitler and Stalin word to each other after the molotov Ribbentrop pact, pretty sure I spelled that wrong
many of my freinds are idiots. many weaklings. many of averge charcter - they do there best - if any of them become POTUS id ugre them to resign. Failing that I do all I could to remove them. The same if they became doctors by some corruption.
And it's only because he became a Republican who went against Hillary. Even Chuck Schumer told Trump to come back to the Democrat party at an event where Trump talked about his friends left him when he became Republican. Jesse Jackson was a friend of his, too. Trump even donated to his campaign. But, now, Jesse calls him a racist.
Safe to say, if you can’t string a sentence together, you probably aren’t fit to be a president.
Or VP! Kamala makes Quayle look better and less of a joke.
We’re just on a train wreck in our “leadership”

French viewer here! There weren't that many riots during the election weeks, really. However, it's true that this past election was a disgrace. Two extremist "parties" (Le Pen party on the far right and a coalition of left/far-left parties) were facing each other. In the "middle" of the political spectrum was another centrist coalition (Macron's party and friends). So, supporters of the far left and far right parties were very vicious, spreading propaganda and false information both ways. It is true that some candidates stepped off in order to prevent Le Pen's party to come to power, because many people are scared of this party which was formerly created by fascists (and that's a fact). We're not talking Trump's right or Biden's left here, we're talking far-right / far-left parties that probably don't even exist in the USA. It's true that French people are concerned about immigration, security and purchasing power, and Le Pen's party seemed to present solutions to these problems and that's why more and more French people vote for them, forgetting the fascist and xenophobic origins of the party. The other parties haven't done much to listen to the people, so here we are. Now it's a complete mess. We have a "National Assembly" composed of 3 main groups: far-left, middle and far-right. They will never agree on laws and measures to take for the country, so nothing major will happen until the next election, unfortunately.
As a fellow French citizen, you perfectly explained the situation!
I kind of disagree on the "far-left" part : only the PCF and LFI led by Mélenchon can be considered "far-left", the PS and EELV aren't, nor are Ruffin and Glucksmann.
@@robinrigal-yn8im true, but their coalition didn't leave us any choice... Either vote for the left/far-left group or the far-right party.
@@aggieyes59 Well, I prefer to vote for the left, far left, because the coalition will crumble, but the left will still have more sieges. The RN remains a fascist party, whatever Bolloré's media may say. It is no coincidence, if the smaller is the city, or the village, the higher is the rate of votes for thr RN. The population of the countryside doesn't live in the cities, nor in the estates, yet they are voting RN because of an insecurity that they never experienced. Why ? Because they watch Bolloré's media. "I've seen on the TV" they said. I can find you the source by which my speech is based on.
Edit : I clarify, I am myself anti-immigration, I think that the strangers in France have to respect the same law and the same universalist customs as the rest of the french society. That means that I think that the muslims of France should stop whinning about the supposed "islamophobia" of the securalism in France, because it is just wrong. They are the ones not respecting the same law for every religion. I never heard any christian, nor any jew, nor any buddhist, nor any hinduist, complaining that the secularism is "christianophobic", "judeophobic", "buddhistophobic", nor "induistophobic". But I still vote left-wing. However, I entirely agree with your comment, even the left-wing didn't answer to the people'needs. That is just, I guess, the lesser evil...
If nothing major happens...isn't that a good thing??? You don't want major things happening when things are so unstable ;)
You do have a catch phrase Amala! “Be so for real right now” love it :)

It's simple.
Have BIden take a cognitive test.
If he passes - move on.
If he doesn't - he has to go.
But he flat out refuses to take the test.
The only logical reason can be that he is terrified he will fail it.
Thus - he must go.

I agree in principle however you vote for the party not the man.
@@justanumber9053You do maybe.
But, no offense, that is a dangerous system of voting.
So, you will vote for Biden even if he failed a cognitive test? Or if the candidate was a terrible person that you thought would make a terrible leader...you would vote for him strictly because he led the party?
I think that is the worst possible way to vote...again, no offense.

There are 1000 KFC restaurants in the U.K., about 170 are halal.
This is capitalism, not wokeness.
The halal restaurants are in heavily Muslim areas. The bottom line is that you will lose a few customers but gain many. The problem with offering halal alternatives is the possibility of contamination… It’s prohibitively expensive; cheaper to just make that restaurant halal.
Subway U.K. has a similar policy.
Sigh. When Taylor said "clean up Paris" it reminded me of what happened here in Sydney in 2000. Not only was there concerted effort to keep the streets clean, the government also relocated the city's homeless population prior to tourists arriving. They didn't accommodate people. They just relocated people. It was horrifying.
Same happened in 96, Atlanta. They were bussed far enough away to not come close to being able to afford to get back.
Lived 14 years in France and got out in 2014...Saw all this coming and I love France and it's culture, then, but that was then.. Sadly France has fallen so low that it is now ungovernable.
I'm sorry to hear it. I've lived in communities to see this happen. Imagining a country in that position. Makes me feel sad
I'm English early gen z but lived in France since 2006 and became a dual national and it's heartbreaking to see just how rigged the system is against the actual core majority. Feels like every year i see another farmer protesting on a road with a guillotine. People are done with the betrayal.
I moved back in 2017. The worst part of witnessing the shift unfold was my "liberal" friends embracing anything and everything that went against Western values because it would be ---ophobic to do otherwise. I wonder if they will ever wake up.
That's so sad. I've been watching France, and they have fallen so far. We are on the same trajectory if we keep letting things continue. We HAVE to GET LOUD, get DEMANDING and stop this treason that's taken over our entire country.....BOTH parties. Whoopie Goldberg is SO FAR In the dark that she might not ever find her way back. She needs prayer and complete deliverance from the evil within.
It's staggering to watch her support this man who has a crime syndicate family. I have studied the Bidens, and they have been equal to a NY mafia "godfather" family. Hi Amala,
I am French, let me give you the main elements to better understand the situation in my country.
Our parliament has two chambers, the Senate and the National Assembly. The National Assembly is elected directly by the French people, this election was to choose the members of this chamber. In early June, a European election was help to choose the members of the European Parliament. The Rassemblement National (Marine Le Pen’s party) won clearly with 31%, among 8 major lists. Following that, our President Macron decided to dissolve the National Assembly (he has the right to do that according to our Constitution). He said he wanted to give back the voice to the people. However, the National Assembly had no clear majority, making it very difficult to lead any policy. Many said he dissolved because he bet that the people would give him a clear majority for the rest of his tenure.
This National Assembly election has two turns. There are 589 circonscriptions dividing the French territory, each circonscription is an election in itself and sends one deputy to the Assembly. On the first turn, a candidate that gets more than 50% of votes is elected (no 2nd turn). If no candidate gets a majority of votes, each candidate that got more than 12,5% of votes will participate in the second turn. There are many parties in France (it is not a bi-party system like in the US, there is several parties in the far-left, left, the ecology party, the centre, the right, the far-right) So it happens often that there are no winner and three candidates are eligible for the second turn. We call this situation a « triangulaire ».
What happened is very simple : In almost all triangulaires, the candidate from the left or the centre decided to step down so that there is only one candidate remaining to face the Rassemblement National candidate. So people had no choice, and many decided to vote against the Rassemblement National no matter the other candidate, often with a bitter after taste in the month, to say the least.
And in just a week the dynamic for the RN was half broken. Rassemblement National arrived first in 258 circonscriptions (out of 589), but lost in half of them.
In my opinion, people voting RN will not forget any time soon those manipulations that were done in this election and it will only strengthen their resolve to vote for the RN in the future. 10 millions people voted for the RN on the national scale, while 7 millions voted for the Left Alliance (called « Nouveau Front Populaire »), but with all the candidates stepping down and the way the country is divided in circonscriptions, the left alliance got more deputies in the National Assembly. The centre (where our President is) got also way more deputies than anticipated.
In the end, there are three blocs in the National Assembly, and no majority for any of them...
I hope my explanation helps !
In South Africa we have had Halaal certified products for decades now (we have a strong Muslim community which have settled here and our society is diverse and integrated in that regard). The issue is not the products per se, but the fact that these products are being taxed for the Halaal brand.. ie, Christians, Secularists, Buddhists and any other grouping who are not Muslim, pay for Muslims to have their products prepared in a specific manner. By the way: this affects everyday products, so much so that they have become indistinguishable from other products.
Also, Halaal does not merely mean it was "Blessed by Mohammed". There is a specific way in which products must be prepared and handled, which adds to the cost.
I couldn't tell that the feed was from France with all the Palestinian flags. My condolences to the moderates and conservatives over there where i have extended family in the countryside.
Yeah they somehow forgot to bring the french flags
Yeah... It's sad to say but in France if the french flag is in a private home without an exceptional reason like Soccer World Cup or the Olympic Games, its owner will automatically be seen as a supporter of the ultra right and qualified of words ending in -ist and -phobic.
Honestly, I'm ideally left-wing but when I see poorly educated idiots spitting on my country and my political camp submitting to them (while promoting woke ideas incompatible with these people they want to seduce), it enrages me.
In short, they have the right to be proud of their "roots", but we, the "native" French, must keep a low profile and be ashamed of the conquering history of our country.
It looks like a bad joke.

@@annaskacelova8840 Bringing French flags in this political context can often imply associating with nationalist ideas/RN i.e. the opposing party of this crowd, so they just wouldn't display them a lot in the first place. In general in France, French flags come out in mass only for sports events and such. However, there were still some French flags in that crowd when you see more angles, the video just includes that one clip where you mostly see the foreign flags.
In France you can have less seats despite having more votes because the seats are not directly related to the number of votes. The country is divided into constituencies. For each constituency you win, you get one seat. So if party A wins 5 constituencies with 90% of the votes and party B wins 5 other constituencies with 55% of the votes, party A has more votes, but both get 5 seats. Similar to how in the US you can become president with less than 50% of the votes because of the electoral college system.
The same thing is true in the US. We have the electoral college. Rarely does the right have the majority of people vote since most live in rural countryside. The left normally live in the large cities.

As a French person who doesn’t vote left, let me tell you why is Marine Le Pen and the Far right party considered Far right or extreme right as we say in France. The state council has taken this decision based on some of their ideas being anti-constitutional such as the birthright (which goes directly against the Declaration of Human Rights of 1789). You mentioned that one of Le Pen’s decent ideas is that she is pro abortion and I absolutely agree but let me tell you that it was not always the case. In a not so far past, her party was known to be against it and even called abortion a « mass genocide ». On the protectionism part, I agree with you that it’s not a bad idea at all in form but in substance I doubt her ideas could be realised. Americans need to remember especially when they talk about a West European country’s economic decisions that they are all taken under a bigger institution which is European Union. Based on the current regulations, can Marine le Pen and Far right effectively reduce the cost of gas and fuel for French citizens? Even tho I would love that for myself, I am afraid not. Nonetheless I agree with you Amala that nowadays what we label as extremist parties aren’t nearly as bad as what we saw rising in Europe in the first part of the 20th century.

With Whoopie; I think you need to define what loyalty at this point is. I also hold loyalty as a pivotal trait not only in myself but in human society as a whole. It can mean following the cause to the end, being staunch and unyielding support, but it can also mean seeing the writing on the wall and using your loyalty to do what is best for the person you are loyal to.
If Biden has lost control of his bowels, this is concerning. That he can't form a sentence indicates cognitive decline and is concerning. That people are going to hold him up anyway, is concerning. It's elder abuse. Whether or not I cared for him as a man or a president, it doesn't matter. I've been watching a man become more and more vulnerable with each passing year. He is in just the right place to become a puppet for someone else and he won't even know what he's doing.
"IT'S STILL BETTER THAN TRUMP!" Is that what we've come to? So tribal and single minded that elder abuse is preferable to all else? Is that a state of society that we want to slip into?
Keeping him there, in his current and declining state, is not only a threat to him, but to the rest of us that he represents. The USA's opponents, maybe even its allies, will use our leader's deficiency to our detriment.
Is the cost of keeping Biden in office truly worth keeping Trump out?
Loyalty is care. You care about this person as well as their goals. Loyalty is standing up when it's hard and trying to prevent said person from making a horrible mistake, to keep them from going over the line. Loyalty is not taking advantage of said person to uphold your own preferences.
What she presents as loyalty is blind and doesn't even benefit he who she claims loyalty towards.
Agree with most of this but there’s just just one point bothering me. I’m pretty sure statistics regarding ethnic groups are illegal in France, so which studies are you talking about when you say prisons are ‘full of POC’ or that white people comit more feminicides than other ethnic groups ?

So as a French, living in France, I have a few things to say.
I am so sorry, this is much bigger than I thought it would be, and I also want to preface this by saying that, though I personally don't like swearing, French people have the swear easy. So easy that we already had a few instances when the President, or journalists, or ministers have sworn on live television as if nothing. Also, French has a very extended vocabulary when it comes to swearing, and I have noticed more than once that the translation to English is simply f*ck, when it doesn't always translate the sentiment.
It is not the "Far Right" with air quote, it IS the far right, it has been recognised as such by the Conseil Constitutionnel. In addition of being of the most extreme right of the political spectrum, it was funded by former N*zis, F*achists, H*locaust deniers and colons. The party led by Jordan Bardella (formerly Marne LePen, and before her her father) was openly racist with a hard R and white supremacist until the 2000's when the party and its leader were elected or the second tour of presidential elections. Then Marine LePen took the reins of the party and did a cleansing within the party (getting rid of her father and his image) as well as the image of the party. She renamed the party, did a lot of marketing campaign to make people forget the terrible history of this party and also had members of the party go meet people in the countryside.
Now, concerning those riots ... I can't say for sure, because though I live in France, I don't live everywhere all at once, but it looks like those "riots" are from last year. Those elections went rather peacefully, to be honest, people (media and random people like me) were even surprised, and many suspected that we were waiting for the second turn to see how it would go. But yes, from what I can tell (and I was eating up the news like tomorrow) there were no riots, especially not to this scale.
Then again, I am not surprised that you (as a foreign country) have those images. Last year, when manifestations happened following the death on a minor by police force, everyone outside of France thought that we were on the brink of civil war and that going outside to work or simply take a walk was something impossible.
Now about the voting, Mr Macron decided after the European elections to "dissolve" the Assembly (not sure of the verb here). So basicallly the institution deciding of our laws. So we have to elect new deputies, and each party has a chance to have a deputy representing their party. We have a little under 600 seats, so if a party has more than half, they have what we call the absolute majority. That is what the RN (Marine LePen's party) was aiming for. It is to know that the RN is an extremist party, and historically has always had very few seats. but because of the whole rebranding that she has done over the past two decades, and because of the political situation in France at the moment that we have because of Mr Macron, her party has garnered a lot of attention.
We have A LOT of parties in France. No matter where you are on the political spectrum, you will find a party representing you. But in all objectivity, there are more left leaning parties than right leaning. So to avoid having a few seats here and there, most parties from the left gathered together to create a new party, and it is this party that won most of the seats in the new assembly. not the absolute majority, but the most seats. Which in truth causes a problem because every time a law will be proposed, no one in the Assembly will agree with the others and it means that our country will be on pause for 2 years. But nevermind that.
Now, concerning the RN's program ... yes, some of their points are good. But only if you look at the points and not how the RN wants to put them in practice. If you look closer, it is not only delusional for some things, but also everything is linked to immigration. The wages are law because of the immigration, there are too many Arabs and blacks, Islam is the source of all our problems. And those are only the three main points they like to go on and on when asked about it by journalists.
Also, about the immigration ... and this is where it is important to remember which country we are talking about. France is a former colonial country. When WWII was over, France asked for the immigration to rebuild the country. The trains, the buildings, the underground was built my immigrants imported by France with promises that were not fulfilled. Other than that, France is the only former colon who still has power in its former colonies (especially West Africa). A LOOOOT of money comes from those countries, so people from those countries come to France. And the mass immigration that the RN likes to complain about ... is legal. Many come as students to study, stay a few years to work and leave. So a decade or so. If you come to France, you will see that Paris, Lyon, Toulouse and the big cities are very cosmopolite, but we are supposed to be the most cosmopolite country in Europe. But as soon as you leave the big cities, you don't see a lot of POC.
As for the crime rates, yes, prisons are full of POC (I do say POC because in RN, they don't really make the difference. I am POC, born and bred in France, from French parents, but when someone sees me, they immediately assume I am an immigrant because I am POC). BUT, and it is a big but, if you look statistically, feminicides are mostly comminted by white men, reported r*pes are mostly commited by white men, child abuse are mostly commited by white people. I am not saying POC are not committing crimes, statistically, the crimes that we French qualify as delinquency (drugs, stealing in shops, racket, etc) is mostly committed by POC. But it is easy to say that POC are committing all the crimes when it is far frombeing the truth.
As for the separation of Church and State ... It is the basis of our constitution, and of our Country and of our Republic. I don't know a single person in France who wants to unify again Church and State. I don't even think that the monarchists (because yes we have some people who want to reinstitute a king) would want that. It is in our DNA to separate Church and State haha. So it's not props to her, it's just a French thing ^^
And to explain it very quickly, each circonscription gets a deputy. Hence why it seems small. First because compared to the US, France is not that big. But also because we don't have that many circonscriptions. And for the vote, the RN got 36% for the european elctions. Mr Macron "dissolved" the Assembly just after (still not sure of that verb). We held a first election, and then a second. If a deputy had over 51% at the first election, he becomes deputy straight away. If not, what matters is what happened during the second poll. Hope that makes sense.
And to finish this looooooong message, I feel that you do not know the program of the left. Because if you liked the ideas you mentioned from marine LePen for their ideas and not just because it was her who said them, I don't see why you wouldn't like the ideas of the left. They are very nationalist as well, though more centered around the people, and not the big companies. But, if you have not heard about the left ideas, I don't blame you. the media in France barely relayed them, so I don't see why they would in other countries.
Anyway, I am so sorry for this really long message and I hope you will take the time to read it, even if you end up thinking that I say rubbish. At least I would have felt like doing my part by giving you my opinion as someone living there ^^
Love, Mina

Bonjour Mina! ton anglais est très bon. Especially for such a long post. 🎉
I'm from France too, and I find this breakdown very accurate as well. Let's always be careful when analyzing a country's politics through another country's lens.
The far-right IS still the far-right indeed. The fact that they seem "close to the people" is just due to their strategic populist rethoric. In reality, they are very elitist, pro- corporate and don't give a damn about people. During the election period, many far-right candidates came out as openly racists.
I also think it's a good idea to actually read the left's program. It is an European left, so not exactly comparable to the American left.
No everything has to be agreed with in what they suggest, but the left is definitely closer to the people than the far-right will ever be.
"The View has gone crazy" "The View is over" "The View has lost it" "Whoopi is cancelled" "Whoopie is done" "Whoopie is out on The View" WHEN? WHEN? WHEN??? S#!t or get off the pot already! I'm so sick of this crap.

Interestingly, I looked up Popeyes and Mary Brown's because of this video and discovered that they have been Halal for years. In Canada, Mary Brown's since 2008 and Popeyes since at least 2020. French here. I loosely followed what happened, didn't vote, because neither the left or the right seem competent enough in my eyes, AND I have been convinced for more than a decade now that the current constitution that we have is going to lead to a dictatorship eventually. What we're seeing nowadays is one step further towards this. For that I haven't been voting for 19 years (am 37).
So the riots that you saw, I honestly can't tell if that was before or after the elections, because, yes, similar riots have also happened after the left "won", and yes, it is all the left rioting and vandalizing. After winning. Insane.
So what they call a "win" is very marginal : the president does not have a majority in the assembly anymore. The left (and only the left) did a coalition/alliance, came out on top, marginally, they have a relative majority. The right, even in a coalition, doesn't have any sort of majority, but they are enough to matter, due to the far right having grown so much in at least 6 to 8 years, and causing such a terror the past few weeks by just existing, winning the European parliament elections and nearly getting a majority in the legislative elections.
How those elections work. Those are legislative elections, meaning the vote was to elect people who sit at in the National Assembly, where our laws are written, proposed, and accepted/rejected.
France is divided in "régions", which are subsequently divided in "départements" (smaller geographical divisions), and those départements can have one or more "circonscriptions" (too difficult to translate, but that's effectively an administrative and geographical subdivision that only matters in politics) within them. We have as many seats in the National Assembly as we have circonscriptions. The way the legislative elections work, is that there is a vote in each circonscription, and the winner of that vote wins a seat in the National Assembly. Essentially our legislatives, are us voting to elect our equivalent of the Electoral College in the US (roles of the chambers being maybe different, I'm not sure what the Electoral College does aside for preventing the presidential elections from being democratic).
But, some circonscriptions being more populous than others, sometimes one needs to win 50 votes to win one seat, sometimes one needs 300 votes to win an equally valuable seat (I simplify with the numbers but it's essentially that). So what happened, is that the RN won in the places that are more densely populated, and lost the other, less populated places. That's how they end up with more total votes, which, in these elections, do not matter, and less seats, which actually matter here. I guess the total number of votes matters for the future, because for the presidential elections, this is what matters, if someone gets more votes, he becomes president, so that essentially gives an idea for predictions/prognostics in the years to come.
After those elections, the assembly is a real puzzle for the president, because he has to name a prime minister. That PM needs to have a majority in the National Assembly ; his role is to name the regular ministers ; and he essentially is the hand of the government. If a PM is a political opponent of the president (which can happen if the president loses just a little bit more heavily the legislatives, and he doesn't have a choice in that case), then the country is in what we call a "cohabitation", and the president loses pretty much all political power, while the PM essentially governs and decides what happens politically. So here, Macron has to solve this puzzle of who to name as PM, because no one will be able to do anything with enough support at the assembly to pass pretty much any law. Some will vote against just because they are in the oppostion and showing any support for the government is weakness, some will vote against a law because they just disagree with the law, etc.
I personally think there won't be anything done legislatively for at least a year. The current situation makes it so no combination of alliances between parties can have an absolute majority, because the three big parties' leaders, who are far left, presidential group (center-right), and far right, do not want to make compromises or alliances, and are too stubborn. Either they swallow their egos, or nothing gets done, which will benefit the presidential party eventually, and even more eventually, the far right in the next elections. So there is going to have to be negotiations between people who do not want to negotiate, which I think, and I'm not in support for the president (as I've said, the status quo benefits the president), is the best way to have a democracy : reasonable negotiations and compromises.
Regarding the far right, in France it's weird, because the main far right party currently, Rassemblement National (National Rally) is a rename of the old one, Front National, and that old one, has been founded either directly by na$is or collaborators to na$is. In any case, the link to na$is is clear and known. Le Pen has been trying really hard to clean up both her name, Le Pen, and the party's reputation. Her father, Jean-Marie Le Pen, who was the previous leader of the FN, was openly racist, a holocaust denier, etc. To be frank, she has been trying, really hard, this is why her program seems relatively ok nowadays, but as someone who doesn't really take sides there, I don't trust her. I don't trust her because the anti-immigration/national security things in the program could either be exactly being logistically careful, or actually racism in disguise, which, she has been a racist too, it's not like she's completely clean. The family and party's histories are too tainted by history.
Hope that helps.
Great comment! I’m french too and here is what I would add: the presidential party is centrist if you want, but above all neoliberal, globalist, technocratic. Macron is the french équivalent of Trudeau. And after what happened with the covid, I couldn’t possibly identify it as « moderate », but rather authoritarian (how many 49.3 already?).
The Left as rebranded as the New Front Populaire is a very heteroclite gathering of dozens of parties from the super far left to Biden-like left, which makes this alliance rather unnatural and doomed to be shattered soon.
As for the RN, it’s the go-to party for anyone who wants to express anger against the government, but it’s an empty box whose only purpose is to serve as a foil to help elect neoliberal parties. A kind of stooge. So they have to be popular enouth to appear to be threatening, but demonized enouth to never actually arrive in power: a dangerous little game that might end with an actual win on the next presidential elections, unless our neoliberals find an other jocker card to play. But as much Amala likes what Marine Le Pen has to say, it’s all demagogy: she changes what she says from an election to an other, following the flow of what her electors want to hear: once she was anti-EU and pro-Russia, now it seams like it’s not as popular to hold those opinions anymore and she left them behind. The only things that remain allways are the anti-immigration and borderline xenophobic policies as it’s in their DNA since the origins of the party. So.. a clear lack of intergity and a party that has been obviousely instrumentalized by the centrists for decades, now. Also, when you look at who are their deputies.. good lord it’s a mess, they really accepted anyone willing to represent them. It’s quite unprofessional. And one last thing about them: their program is almost non existant, they really didn’t put in the effort and they only rely on their communication about their demagogic talking points (unlike the left who has a very detailed program, only super duper expensive, yet validated by several economists, but like them or hate them, they are way more professional than the far-right).
So, just like you I’m not convinced by any of these 3 options (yet I voted, essentially against Macron, who is the most dangerous of all in my opinion, which was useless in my circonscription because people in my neibourhood are hopeless centrists). I like some individuals who are not likely to ever be in power, so.. what can I say. Let’s see what happens.

In British (and presumably French) elections, parties can form coalitions with each other. The way it works is that if so many seats are needed in order to win the election, parties can join with one or two (or however many it takes) other parties to get those seats. They then share the power depending on how many seats each one brings to the group. If it involves more than 2 parties it's usually a total mess, especially if they aren't well aligned ideologically, because they spend as much time arguing with each other as they do getting anything substantial done. If it's a coalition formed of 2 like-minded parties it can work really well.
Hope that helps to explain it.

The reason why the RN was able to be 1st in the first round of the French elections but still lost in the second round is very simple and is linked to the way this election works. There can be as many candidates as possible in each subdivision of the country, sometimes up to 10 or even more. Each represent their party or are sometimes independent. If one candidate gets more than 50% of the votes then they are directly elected from the first round and people living in this subdivision don’t need to vote at the second round. However, in the subdivisions where no one got more than 50% of the votes there needs to be a second round which is held one week later. Usually the first 2 candidates only remain on the second round but if we have a situation with 30-30-30ish there can be what we call a triangle second round with 3 candidates. usually one of the candidates will drop (the 3rd one in terms of votes usually) and ask their voters to vote for a specific candidate. The thing is the RN has very few allies within the French political spectrum as they are still considered a fascist party. So what happens is when people need to choose in the second round between RN and another candidate, they will usually vote against RN. The results being that the RN will keep their pool of voters from the first round but with no additional voters in the second round.
French here :) for the european elections, it was a 1 round vote. So the first party in france (currently the right nationalist) came 1st place.
The latest élection was for the French assembly and it is a 2 rounds vote. So between 1st and 2nd round, all the parties bargained against the right nationalists and each time, there was a 3rd party for the 2nd round other than the nationalist, they dropped. And this way, in most circonscriptions, the other candidate arrived a few points ahead of the right nationalists. So in total of seats, the right didnt do so well, when in fact a large majority of people voted for them.
Some argue if it were a 1 round election, the results would have been much different, and maybe more representative.
Bien résumé! 👍

How? Christians are the polytheists, not Muslims. Which idol? How is sacrificing an animal while praising the one true God idol worship?
Well, lots of misinformation in there to respond to. Christians believe in one God, what you’re referring to is the mystery of the trinity in which there are three distinct and individual deities which are all equal with each other and all equally one God. Don’t ask me to explain how it works, because it’s a mystery to me too. But, as Christian believe their God is the only God and the true God, that would make Allah not a god and therefore an idol. Obviously you’re aligned with Muslim beliefs and so you will say that only Allah is the one true god. We don’t have a common frame of reference to discuss which one is real.
But, many Christians, myself included, believe Allah to not be real, and therefore eating meat slaughtered in praise to Allah would constitute eating food sacrificed to an idol.
@@Zach-hj8fc Allah is THE one true Unseen God, Creator of the universe and everything in it. He is not got nor is He begotten. It's quite difficult to look at European politics with an American perspective and understand what's going on, because the political systems and landscapes are so different over here. Most European countries have much more parties that are actually relevant in elections than the US. So most of the time you don't have election results where one party has over 50% of the votes. So, different parties creating alliances and coalitions is a pretty normal thing here. For the same reason we don't just have the left and the right. We have the very far left, the far left, the left, the right, the far right and the very far right. The party of Le Pen at least falls in the category far right. Some might even argue it's part of the very far right. Yes, they have points that you might agree with ( by the way: separating church and state is not really a topic / issue here as almost all parties would agree on that and as far as I know abortion rights are currently not a real topic in France either) but unfortunately they also have some very dangerous points. For example they are very anti EU. So I think it's a good thing they didn't win. If it's a good thing that the "regular" conservative parties didn't get more votes is a different question.
23:23 I normally would agree with you, but the way Larry Elder was treated when he ran for Governor in California, and the way the RNC treated him, I actually do think there is something going on that does debunk it.
Living in Brooklyn for twenty-plus years, I am used to seeing Halal food. But it is exclusive to “street meat” from food carts (outside of a couple Muslim neighborhoods). If KFC were to have that option in urban areas, it wouldn’t surprise me, but for it to be implemented everywhere across Canada is pretty telling what demographic makes up the lower socioeconomic tier.
He hasnt been fit to serve for DECADES.
He was never fit
France has not yet fallen (look at Belgium or the Netherlands to see worse) thanks to our strong secularism, even if many Islamists hate it... also, these elections have seen an unprecedented rise in right, despite all the left coalition to oppose it, because people are tired of insecurity and uncontrolled immigration
I haven't been in a while, I like the new intro...I'm getting vibes of nightly TV news with a touch of X Files.
