I love that you shared this and made it simple when I know it probably took so long to figure it all out. I've actually always been working this out for myself but you unlocked the matrix for me!! You could have kept this to yourself and the beat is🔥🔥🔥🔥 grateful🙌

I have never done something like this - being a guitarist in a band, I usually compose music on my guitar and then work it through with the band. But this video legit inspired me to give this a shot because I really enjoyed the process and the way you outlined it. Thanks a bunch for it!

Good to know I'm not the only one. I want to learn music theory though because I think it would simplify and shorten the music-making process to a large degree. Right now, I just find myself listening to stuff over and over again, tweaking note after note. It can be really slow. With a knowledge of theory, I might know what theoretically would sound good instead of playing this guessing game with notes.

    • @PCPsLAB

I used it right away. I make many records with songwriters, and singers this harmonic mixing will help with matching the keys of already produced tracks. with their favorite keys to sing in. 90% of users are still in the beginning stage. or just beat making this is advanced producer stuff. thats why I like technology because we can all share to help each other.

This is brilliant! It really never occured to me to look at sample keys as chords and then building progressions off of that. It really makes sense - you get the same sense of unresolved/resolved play. Thank you for the KeyFinder tip as well. I now have they key of over 20k samples! Way quicker than loading a tuner into Ableton and analyzing each by hand.

Outstanding video. I've used Mixed in Key so many times in the last year to find keys of music. I've been using with my dj programs but it's dope for so many other uses. I also downloaded the KeyFinder program, just to try it out. Also - and this is strictly my opinion - but it's videos and tutorials like these that open minds further...because today's technology can take us above and beyond anything that we could ever imagine. If you love sampling then this is another way for someone to make their workflow smoother and more efficient. You also mentioned how Ableton and Maschine use's "scales" manipulation within the program...can you elaborate on that?

Ur super cool at teaching. Like how u in what notes go use. I'm a learn how to use notes. But if u got a great ear and don't slack on ur work it's virtually not necessary to find the key of a sample. I think u did a great job as far as ear...well that's the key to a great song.

Thanks for your effort and time. It wasn't as clear as it could've been. Specify more clearly, that transposing samples is just a current trend and the circle of fifths is music theory that works for only some beatmakers and that the first rap beat makers had probably never heard of the circle of fifths.
