    PLEASE READ: I accidentally noted (for the first example) that I was in the key A minor when I was G minor. The tonic of G minor is G, hence the G note that I used to guide the build of the pattern.

    For a music graduate this is how a Palaeontologist feels listening to a three-year-old explain excitedly all about dinosaurs.
    That’s not meant to be a criticism, after decades of studying incredibly complex musical forms we will never be able to really experience the excitement and wonder of discovering the most basic forms. Indeed, it’s only by exploring Shostakovich, Khachaturian, Stravinsky, or Bartok that we will ever approach that kind of joy.
    This guy is doing great things. Keep it up!

    Commenting because I got mad respect for your grind man, and your channel deserves some positive attention.
    What's your background in music training, regarding playing an instrument or theory?
    I took theory I and II a long ass time ago, and that pedal tone (sustained note over changes), is a really powerful effect. One of the first things we learned though was to avoid parallel fifths as much as possible. It's quite a bright sound, but it's like *too* consonant, not enough tension. But like you said, no wrong notes, just better ones.

    Have to say I love your content and I have learned a lot about chord arrangements. I wanted to give you a little tip on the piano roll in logic. When you are trying to move all the thirds up an octave use the key command Shift + Option + up or down arrow and it will move the note up or down an octave. I see you drag them all the time hopefully I can save you a little time like you have done for me. Thanks again!

      Being in key is step one…. There are certain chords that sounds better with the melody of the vocal. As long as you’re in key, nothing will sound “bad”.,. But, there will be certain chords and chord patterns in key that’ll sound better.

    i dont understand why music need flats if you have sharps, or sharps if you have flats. couldnt you just use one or the other? surely there must be a reason they both exist? arent they the same notes? d sharp is e flat?

    • @CPCGowda
      @CPCGowda 2 года назад

      It just depends on what type of key you are in:
      - if we are in a flat key like Eb minor then all the black keys become flats rather than sharps (Eb F Gb Ab Bb B D) As you notice Gb, Ab and Bb could be written as F#, G# and A# but because it is a flat key we write is as flats.
      - If you are in a sharp key like C# Major then all notes are sharps (C# D# E# F# G# A# B#) as you can see over here E# and B# don’t exist; we really mean F and C, but they are written as sharps because it’s a sharp key.
      If I am wrong anyone please correct me 😅

    • @LiQWYD
      @LiQWYD 2 года назад

      It has to do with the scales. So in any scale with sharps or flats in it, you will end up with notes of the same name. For example, if there were no flats then an F major scale would look like this: F G A A# C D E F instead of this: F G A Bb C D E F. Hope that answered your question... 😊
