    I am no one. I didn't even take any lesson to learn playing instruments. But since the Covid strikes and spent lots of time at home, I train a lot by playing virtual drum following with any different songs. Without any knowledge in music, I've created so far around 9 - 10 songs... I don't know how that happen but I really want to make music in the future. Just like the other professional musicians. Currently, I'm using the FL Studio 20 (trial mode). So far, just few of them were posted in my channel. Good to have you as a guider, mr. Alex Rome.

    Interval game strong and a good way to start off the track. I normally start with chords (which is 2 or more notes so I guess an interval), but never thought about how you did it adding the bassline. Dope vibe in the end with the production. A more chill don diablo haha

    I love the nuts and bolts of your channel! The simplicity is what makes music so good. I swear a lot people and bad teachers enjoy over-complicating things for a good ol' ego rubbing. This is refreshing! Thank you! My experience consisted in using fruity loops to make farty sounding synth music back in the late 90s as a 10 year old. It never got better than migraine inducing stuff 🤣 Everyone cleared the room it was so bad 😆

    But how do you know which notes you can use? You seem to know even without hearing them. I don't understand music theory at all and have huge difficulities creating chord progressions. Like I can start with F#, but then what? Do I pick a random key consiting of F# and then create something out of it? That doesn't sound like a great idea tbh. I'd like to know how to start with one note and know which one could be next, and next, and next, etc.

    • @Sabrina2DGarcia
      @Sabrina2DGarcia 2 года назад

      I recommend you to learn music theory, I was like you in the past, and learning it made me feel how the chords are going to sound just by looking their notes, and this will give you much more imagination and creativity to make new songs.

    • @tredfxman
      @tredfxman 2 года назад +1

      You need to start training you ears to what sounds good my friend! Also i would recomend to import a reference track, and try to copy it! Then you alter the notes into your own liking! I have a video on this on my channel.

    • @ERWINRASEL
      @ERWINRASEL 2 года назад

      I think most of us who don't know music theory at the beginning just mess around with notes and different combinations then you pick up the rest in the process. Personally most important thing for me is to have fun while creating music. Designing own chords might be hard to start with but once you get going you will know what works.

    • @dsrree
      @dsrree 2 года назад +1

      You'd be surprised how many producers don't know much or any music theory at all. They just play around with notes until they sound good together and basically form popular scales and chords by accident just because it sounds good. Music theory isn't necessary to make good music, but learning it does save you a ton of time instead of doing trial and error.

    I'm currently working on my first ever song and the biggest issue I'm running into is it's fine to do some melodies and chords and beats separatelly but it's really really hard to articulate the song altogether and bringing everything together. Do you have any advice on that?

      @@PhO3NiX96 it really does help, also looking at pieces and analyzing them and figuring out how the sounds work together to sound full is a good way to learn.
      And for sure keeping it simple trying to put down your idea with the least amount of sounds (of good quality) and basic arrangements is key

    So, it's cool to just buy loops and drop them into your songs as is? I'm brand new to this and I've been avoiding using loops because I don't understand them. Feels like cheating, but if it's how things are done then I'm not gonna fight it.

    • @dsrree
      @dsrree 2 года назад +1

      Are you listening to it on something that has a good bass range? If you are then it's probably just your high end notes muddying up the low end. That's where sidechaining and EQ come in to get the bass to shine through.

    Really like your videos dude but im cringing at how you select your sounds from your folders , you are literally making work for yourself , use the multi sampler to load up your folders for each sound you are looking for eg hat, snare, kick. This will then load them to the sampler and enable you to test them by using your midi keyboard , this also helps for making cool hat patterns rather than jumping to loops all the time. Good videos though 🤘😎

    There's nothing at all wrong with experimenting with pre-made sounds and rhythms and creating an otherwise meaningless ditty of some sort. But don't ever call it ''composing'' or ''writing music''. This electronic method of "writing" is like comparing a trailer to a multi-million dollar mansion. It has it's place, to be sure. And it can be incorporated into a real literal composition but left on it's on; standing alone, it devalues music products produced by real composers in my opinion. It's sort of the "Sesame Street" approach to music composition and songwriting.
