    with I and J it is totally wrong, in both case G90 G91 I and J calculated according to the difference between starting point to the origin of the arc, as you showed in G91 example

      On our machine, G90 is the command for absolute coordinates which means the I & J reference point is from (0,0)

    It was just the same PLTW power point i had to do in class but you explained sum things better than my teacher so thanks where is the episode where you actually do the programming????

      Sorry Terry - we practice the programming stuff in class. Glad it helped a little though!

    This is an awesome video for someone like me who has no experience, thank you. I am looking to apply for a CNC Operator position in my area, and there are so many places willing to take on newcomers to the field. I'd like to have a leg up, can you recommend any videos that will help me with my interview process, and also develop a bit of skill before I apply?

    Just one question Do you know about polar interpolation? and a software to check our polar code?

    • @brianthomas4384
      @brianthomas4384 6 лет назад

      I don't have my students program in Polar but usually you use G16 to switch to Polar mode (and G15 to switch back to Cartesian). The software we use to verify and mill is CNC Base for ProLight 1000

    For people out there that think if they just watch RUclips videos and then get a job. I got a rude awakening for you. Almost all shops require that you have College training with some kind of degree before they will let you anywhere near a CNC machine.

      Not trueeee. Ran cnc lathe, mill. Waterjet and plasma cutter... With absolutely zero college. A good teacher can teach. Its sad to say without colleges nobody ever knew how to do anything. Running a cnc is not like being an electrician where you HAVE to be certified to do your job
