44:35 20,000 people in just the two towers, and 3000 people including those on the planes and dozens of firefighters who entered afterward died. That means over 85% of the people in the towers before the first attack made it out alive. In spite of the sheer panic and confusion, and considering about 40% of the total floor space was above the impact zones, I don't think you could have asked for better numbers evacuating those buildings. Spectacular work.

My mom told me years later when I was older that she turned on the TV to stay awake while breast feeding my then baby sister and saw the news coverage of the attack, panicked, called my grandma who was still sleeping after working late as an ER receptionist and told her to turn on her TV and watch America being attacked and then called my dad at work to see if he was ok and then got me up to feed me and get me and my baby sister dressed for the day still watching the TV and keeping her cool and a normal routine for me knowing I wouldn't understand until I was older what happened to America. Years later I learned about the attack in school and how and why we were at war in the Middle East.

I must admit, listening to this decades after the event, I'm stunned by Matt Lauer's truly asinine comment about people jumping from the windows of the Trade Towers "trying to get to safety." Really?!!!
People don't jump from a 70th or 80th floor window of a burning building to "get to safety." They do it because they know they're going to die, and would rather not burn to death! I know it's a gruesome detail upon which to focus, but sometimes I'm simply dumbfounded by careless stupidity.

I was 27 and working in Halifax, the same beautiful sunny weather just up the coast from NYC. I worked in blood donations it was my first week on the job. For whatever reason people showed up in droves to donate blood. In Canada - maybe just to feel humanity or like they were helping in some way. We worked quite late all that week. My car broke down that day after I picked my son up from primary school. Walked the rest of the way home. I remember what I was wearing. Like everyone the day is seared on my brain from the moment my coworker told us some plane hit a tower in New York. 😢

Fox was the first station to start showing shows again and everyone for the longest time was still showing news non stop.. I remember it because my dad recorded the whole thing on VHS.

His headquarters were on 44tth Street and 5th Avenue at the time, where they had been for over 30 years. Keep in mind he only took the lease on the WTC 7 weeks before the attacks, and since it was summer, they did not move any of their operations to the WTC except for a small management office. He did have a bigger operation in 7 WTC, but neither he nor his family worked there. They were planning to move operations to the WTC in October 2001, as August was not an ideal time for corporate moves.

This was not a party issue. Anyone familiar knows every decision made in DC is 100% joint. They will go in public and put on a acting show that they had nothing to do with anything but that’s bs. For example Biden was the key driving force behind Iraq 2003. Iraq 2003 never would’ve happened without Biden, clinton, bushes. Reason being is Biden is just like Bush where they make there money from the military contractors. The other groups do insider stock trading to make money. Hence as of now we have a admin that intentionally provoked a war and got Ukraine smashed. All in the name of money. It started under Obama of dabbling in Ukraine but Biden picked up where Obama left off hence why putin invaded after he took office.
