I was in NYC with my college volleyball team for a tournament the whole week before 9/11. We circled NYC a bunch landing and we all were like “there’s the World Trade Center”! I flew out of NYC on 9/10 and finally got home at 3am on 9/11 and went to sleep. Woke up to radio alarm clock covering the first plane hit so got up and turned on tv. Then I saw the second plane hit. It was so surreal. Flights were grounded for a bit but then my next tournament was in D.C. area. I remember my whole team was driven to D.C. in a big tour bus. We arrived as the sun was going down but there were so many flags hung on every possible surface in the city. It was beautiful! We turned off the lights in the bus and listened to George W. Bush address the nation. All of it is so crazy for me to remember. God bless the victims.

I was going to my friends house we seen each other on the road and both was like you listening to the radio. We went to his house turned on the tv and seen the second plane hit the building. That’s when I knew America would never be the same. I was working at JCPenney and went to the break room to watch what was going on. The picture wasn’t clear on the tv but I remember what I was wearing that day. We closed for the day and they sent everyone home. 😢

I remember waking up (I live in Aus) and it was my dad’s birthday (the 12th) this had all happened overnight for us. I came running out to wish my dad a happy birthday and both my parents were sitting in front of the tv (which was strange for them, they only ever had the news on in the in the background as they got everyone ready for the day) they just sat there, pale, aghast. Getting ready for work that morning with the Today show on TV, I was glued to the TV I was late at the cafe in a mall. I brought a radio for more news. We closed shortly after along with the Mall. After the first tower collapsed on video, Katie DOES NOT REACT to that, but instead pitches to a guy at a hospital for a report. Her colleague said, "That building just collapsed." And she just ignored him and pitched to a reporter at the hospital. DIDN'T SHE UNDERSTAND THAT THE TOWER JUST COMPLETELY FELL DOWN??? But no reaction. Amazing. . .

I remember that day, like it was yesterday. I was working as a Medical Assistant in a Doctor’s office. I had just taken a patient into an examination room. I began taking her vitals. Then she starts talking about an airplane hitting the World Trade Center. Now of course this just didn’t seem logical to me. I started flipping through her medical record to see if she was some type of psychiatric drug. She wasn’t. I went into the lobby where the television was on. We all just stood there frozen. Nobody made a sound. We were all in shock.

I am not American but really whenver I see or hear about 9/11 I get goosebumps, because we in India knew how big the news was and in fact it just did not harm united states but did hit every country indirectly. I hope today, the dead are living in peace and those who are alive are happy because its just not about the crash death toll but it was also about after effect or you can call the debri from the towers that impacted lives is much huge compare to death toll on flight and inside towers. Whatever, I just pray that world does not see something like this again.
