High School Musical was a game changer like for real. A masterpiece. I had never been so excited for a movie like I was for that one & the other DCOMs that came before & after. Kids these days don't know a darn thing about movies & TV shows, which is a darn shame. If The Cheetah Girls laid the foundation & set the standard for the modern DCOM musical, then HSM pretty much sealed the deal & blew EVERYTHING right out of the water. I'm glad I lived through the golden era of DCOMs (& Disney Channel in general). It was amazing, & we had to be there. (Fun fact: Bart Johnson, who played Troy's dad Coach Bolton, is happily married in real life to former child star Robyn Lively, who is the real life older half sister of Blake Lively, which makes them in-laws to the one & only Ryan Reynolds. How crazy is that? 😂) "We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Yes it’s so crazy how massively popular HSM was in the 2000’s. It came out during the perfect time. I’m also happy I grew up watching Disney Channel during its peak. Things were so fun back then. Yes I plan on doing a ranking of every Disney Channel show worst to best in the near future. 👀
