so glad that fender is (for the most part) finally staying true to the original design. i was so sick of all the simplifications and redesigns, i just want a jazzmaster haha
For sure. They don’t have to remove all the switches and roller pots, just repurpose them for something more suited to modern players. Nobody should be looking at a Jazzmaster, with the weird bridge and all the switches, and expecting a straightforward plug-and-play experience.
Fender finally gave the correct modern adjustments to the jazzmaster

I think Fender hit a home run with this line.
I really looked at the entire line, and I think so too. Yea the price went up a little bit, but I think they made a lot of great small but necessary changes. Eyeing that pine telecaster.
Honestly, I was ready to just trash on the blue/black burst and joke about the line looking bland, but I can’t get over how amazing these things sound. Every video I watch makes me super excited to try one myself.
ShredAimlessly92 one thing that makes me excited to try Em out is how everyone says how they feel. Will be interesting to see how they hold up against the reviews.
@@markaochoa2017 The neck finish is probably the same matte/satin finish they used on the American Ultras, so I imagine it’s gonna feel stellar. But that Jazzmaster dive bomb tremolo is gonna be wild to try.
I only wish that the Miami Blue Tele came in a rosewood board version.
I've never seen a video where you played with such inspiration, enthusiasm and creativity and had it flow effortlessly! That is what a truly special guitar is supposed to do, that Jazzmaster is your excalibur my friend! Congratulations again!

Finally fender releases a jazzmaster with both 22 frets AND the original rhythm circuit on it. You can look up, theres no model currently avaliable with both of those features. Its either one or the other.
Took them way too long but better late than never.
Now let's hope they can get Jaguars right

Apparently the “rhythm circuit” is actually a series switch. It does give a deeper/darker tone so one should be able to approximate some of the tones. Alternatively, it shouldn’t be that hard to rewire it into a rhythm circuit either.
I just want this one with the fretboard radius of the American Ultra.
I got the Am Pro 1 and don’t miss the rhythm circuit at all. Just turn tone to 5 instead.
I just got this exact guitar, surf green colour under the Christmas tree thanks to wifey. She even included colour matching Fender cord to boot. Your review is bang on. It had been on my wish list forever since it is one of the best looking guitars I'd laid eyes on. I can't believe how it stays in tune despite plenty of tremolo use. The sounds I can get out of it, wow. A true pleasure to play.
I just got one, in Dark Night, and absolutely love it. Oh, the last guitar I bought new was a 1972 Gibson SG. Nice arsenal. 50 years from now I’ll buy my third.
I’m in love with that guitar. Just got my squier JMJM this week as an anniversary gift. Never played a Jazzmaster and saw it and said how much I loved it, and wife surprised me and bought it. All I can say about the JMJM is, Jazzmasters are now my favorite. Wow.

I recently went in to a guitar shop geared up to finally buy a strat and ended up walking out with this exact guitar. Such beautiful tone and just feels amazing to play. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this vid and seeing you froth over it and knowing the exact same feeling.

I'm happy for you. Took me 60 years of my life to afford one. Did not know I needed one till I watched top Surfer guitarist on RUclips a few years ago. Got that all American original. Put your best Reverb on that beautiful instrument. Play surf till the cows come home.

Wow, that Jazzmaster just sounds and looks stunning! I was never the biggest fan of maple necks one these but it looks perfect. I agree with you on the neck pickup too. I love the vibe and airyness I can get from my JM on either both pu's or neck position. Enjoy man, you deserve it for sure!
Making that sound great! Love all of the innovation. Fender is such a sick company. I built a custom mjt thing years ago cause fender didn’t really offer what I wanted 10 years ago but now if I was buying my first Jazzmaster I’d have so many incredible choices. That body color against the maple especially holding it an angle looks so glorious. Such clever pickup wiring choices and cool that instead of being jaded that everyone mods their bridges they embraced it and improved the trem system too which clearly no one has really done until now. So so sick. I’ve never been a huge fan of the bigger modern tuners but somehow they even made those look a little classier. Plus they probably actually stay in tune and don’t run into the high e string issue I always have with my JM

That is a beautiful color and finish, the one thing you can say about an American Fender is that there won't be any need for improvements and mods. Complete package right out of the box.
Of course you would have to sell 5 CV's to get up the $$ for it.

I’m very happy for you Ryan. I hope you enjoy the hell out of that thing. I’m usually a budget guy myself but I did splurge on a Fender American Performer Telecaster and I can say it was not a bad decision. It’s now my favorite guitar but only because of how it plays and sounds. Not just because it’s made in USA.

Stunning guitar, and it sounds proper too! I have an American Pro strat of the last gen and it's phenomenal, with the soft rolled fretboard edges like yours. Looks like the new Pro II's are awesome across the range.

I did not try this model yet but I think the push push works on the main circuit, modifying the bridge pickup sound.

I also use to always play my Jazzmaster in the bridge position, but now mainly the neck. It sounds so much fuller and rich
If I’m playing a humbucker guitar I usually ride the bridge. The neck of a Jazzmaster is just so sweet sounding

I have been waiting to buy a new jazzmaster for 3 years. I ordered the same one you received. The dark night colour is nice, but my gut feeling was no. Jazzmaster is surf green and sits correctly with me. It seems to go so nicely with the maple. Beautiful guitar all around.
Discovered you channel from the Donner guitar review as that will be my first guitar (I have a bass, don't play much, but I definitely have one) and it was a great review. I wanted to find a vid of you reviewing a high end guitar for comparison and this was also a great review. I now want everything in my life to be painted that color, that is a work of art. I'm happy for you, don't know you, new to the channel, but I'm happy for you all the same. I was always more of a neck pickup person because the bridge didn’t have the same clarity but now that I’m a bit older I’m starting to come around to bridge more, especially with drive it makes more sense.

Dude, your video conclusion with the looper is a blast! The first one sounds like horror surfing in the methane sea of one of Saturn's moons, and the 2nd is a midnight strut with two high priced hookers in Aculpulco. 3rd is just straight up fun western surfing. Thanks! Ps: gotta get one
