Julesburg states it’s the oldest active track in the USA. Started racing back in the 50’s. It’s also an airport. It has markers both for 1/8 and 1/4 mile. It’s a great track to visit.
This was my first time at this track and it wont be my last! I enjoyed getting to meet a lot of great folks, taking video and photograph during the entire weekend!
These people who drive the dragsters and the people who drive the blown cars know what a burnout is supposed to be all of the other people are a bunch of no goods they just go right to the Christmas tree give the fans what they want its not about the officials the fans come to have fun
A burnout is supposed to clean and heat the tires. Some tires only need a scuff and they're good. Most of these guys don't have sponsors and are buying their own tires, and the more smoke you make, the more money you're burning. $300+ per tire adds up very quickly if they don't last at least a few events.
Is that a quarter mile track? No guardrails I see, must not be NHRA sanctioned. Looks very old timey. I like it.

It's an amazing dragstrip! 1/4 mile and is absolutely NHRA sanctioned. Notice the jersey barriers all the way down the track.
