Hey Josh, I rarely comment on a youtube video but you and TST prep deserves a good review! I had only 3 weeks in getting ready and your videos helped me a lot. I should especially mention the fact that the way you are teaching is really calming and helped me a lot to stay calm and not to freak out!! (Normal I get extremely nervous when it comes to exams! ). Thank you for giving that warmth and helping me to believe in myself. Even though RUclips is a one way communication, honestly I did not felt that when I am studying with your videos because, after every mock test you would encourage everyone who did the test and I felt welcoming hearing those warm words. By the way, I did a pretty good job in my exam and TST prep deserve a big credit in that! Thank you soo much! To anyone who is struggling I would totally recommend this channel! ❤️

Hi Josh! I'm taking TOEFL for the first time within a month and have a C1/C2 level, but have been struggling a lot with time management doing test practice, specially in the detail questions. The audios are just too long. Do you reccomend i answer the questions while listen to the audio at the same time, so i would have to pause the audios while answering the questions, or should i actively listen to each audio and then answer to the questions? Also, do we have a countdown clock in the real test? Is it possible to speed up audios in the listening section of the test? Thank you!
When you take the TOEFLiBT test, the questions do NOT show up until after the audio finishes, so there is no way for you to answer the questions while the audio is playing. You can't pause or speed up audio passages either.
Hello Josh, I have a simple question about the listening test of the exam. Is it possible to listen more than once or you only listen once and go directly to the questions? By the way, thanks for the support on studing for TOEFL, your videos ROCK!!
It was normal. In reading 1 topic is about biology(endothermic, ectothermic), I do not remember the second one. Listening is about electromagnetic field, history, art, and I do not remember conversations. In speaking, first part is about student should learn history about all countries than about their own country . Agree or disagree. Writing is about teacher training schools. 2nd task is about the impact of art to urban environments. It was normal, not difficult.
Hey Josh, I have a question about the timing of the listening section. I know the listening is divided into two sections; what is the time allotted for each of them?
Thanks for your question. The listening is divided in multiple passages and there will be an allotted time for each passage that includes listening and answering.
I took the toefl two times, and at the first time, I finished only half of the reading and the listening sections, and I scored the same as the second time when I finished all the questions but without focus. So the quality in the second time decreased because I couldn't focus and comprehend with this short time. Could you please give me any advice to score better with this tight timeline?

Hey, Josh! Your videos are really helping me out, thank you so much! I have a question about the allowed whiteboard in the TOEFL Home Edition: are there any maximum dimensions permitted? I looked through the TOEFL website instructions but I couldn't find any, and I'm worried I won't be able to use my 40x30cm whiteboard
Hi there and interesting question. I don't think it would be a problem, but I don't want to say 100% for certain because I am not a representative of ETS. On the ETS' site, they mention 'one small desktop whiteboard', but I don't know the specifics. You might want to contact ETS directly and ask. Either way, good luck.

Hi, a question about the test, is it shown at the end of the test when the scores will be available on the website? It says so in their webpage but I couldn't be sure.
Hey. I took a test 2 days ago and that was terrible. I got 13-13. I was extremely sick. If I get around 27-28 on each section after 2 weeks, will ETS cancel my score because of a huge increase?
The day before the exam, learn nothing new. Instead, review and practice with questions and tests you have already practiced. This will help build your confidence and remind you of everything you have learned. Hope this helps and best of luck on your test.
Hello, has anyone participated in the TOEFL iBT Home Edition and can confirm if there's a visible timer indicating how much time remains during the test?
Thank you for commenting. I believe just more exposure to these types of listening passages will help with concentration. Basically, you are not used to listening to someone speak on a dry academic topic for five minutes. I would also recommend pausing the lecture when you feel lost, mark the time and then replay the passage and try to focus for a longer period of time on the next round.
