  • In this video, I show off one of my prized skateboards - a 1985 T&C Skate Designs Quad Deck! Nothing says 80s skate culture like a Town and Country deck, am I right? For much of the 80s, T&C dominated popular culture with characters like the Da Boyz created by legendary artist Steve Nazar. Sadly, I never had a T&C skateboard back then, but thankfully I have one now and am on the lookout for more!
    Check out Steve Nazar's current work with the original Thrilla Krew - thrillakrewgea...
    Check out T&C's lineup of new and old school goods here (though sadly no skateboards) - www.tcsurf.com

    When I got my first paper route in '85....that green Quad board was my very first "big" purchase. She's a beaut, Clark!!!

    Nice find! One of my all time favorite graphics from that era is the Ken Park T&C pro model, with the mugger. The T&C skateboards were manufactured by Vision Sports at the time

      Oh wow, that Ken Park model is a killer! Didn't realize that Vision was the manufacturer for T&C back then - thanks for the info!

    Oh wow.......I love seeing old 80's boards. It brings back so many great memories. In 1986 I was 12 years old and loved walking into our local skate shop ( H.O.T Windsurfing) Killeen Texas. Seeing all those decks on the wall. Thanks for posting this.

      What a great memory! Do you know if that skate shop is still in Killeen? Oh for a time machine to go back and buy all those to have now!

      @@GeezerSkateCo No that shop is long gone. It opened in '86 but was closed by '89. I don't live there anymore. I'm in the midwest now.

    Hey, I like your video, I have the same board but it’s highlighter pink and yellow, it’s got highlighter yellow Gullwing trucks with yellow and pink Santa Cruz Bullet wheels, Ugly Stix rails and highlighter yellow grip tape, on a family trip to California in ‘86 I picked the board up at a surf shop in Santa Cruz and finished the deck when we got to San Diego, after holding on to it for 37 years it was nice to see you video!!!!!

      That is an awesome setup you got! Love the color combo and parts for what you had/have! T&C might just be the most 80s of all skate brands!

    I only knew of T&C from the clothes when everyone was wearing that Gotcha and Ocean Pacific stuff then the NES game came out shortly after. It wasn't until I took a trip Jamaica and had a layover in MIA in like 89 when I saw an actual T&C surfboard in a shop but I never knew they made skateboards.

    • @GeezerSkateCo
      @GeezerSkateCo  3 года назад +1

      That's a great memory! Funny how their logo was everywhere, but not necessarily the products (surf and skateboards) that they started out with! From what I can tell, they only had one or 2 skateboard designs released per year until they stopped making skateboards altogether in '93 I believe

      @@GeezerSkateCo Ahhh yes makes sense that I wouldn't have noticed 93 is when I strictly went to buying anything that World Industries or Blind were putting out at the time as they were the cool kids then 😁

    I say start a petition to reissue some classic T & C decks. I had a hot pink logo deck back in the day.

      @GeezerSkateCo  3 года назад

      Heck yeah! They definitely need to reissue the old shapes and graphics - I’ll see if we can’t get 10,000 signatures to send them!

    I’m not 100% sure, but it might be Bernie Tostenson who did the graphics for T&C in those days. I’m sure that they’re decks were made by Vision/Sims

      I think you’re right about Vision/Sims being their manufacturer - I believe I heard that from our friend Al Coker.
