- Florida State capped off an undefeated season with a 16-6 victory over Louisville. Florida State’s defense held the Cardinals’ potent offense to just 188 yards and 6 points in a stellar effort. Running back Lawrance Toafili powered the offense with 118 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown in the game.

This defense played lights out. Louisville was a top 20-25 offense who they made to look like a high school team. Amazing how people today say defenses can’t win championships 🤦🏻♂️

One of the things I hate most about the committee is that they took away from what was an absolutely dominant performance by our defense. FSU's defense would have won the natty for the Noles and if this isn't the most dominant defensive performance of any team in such a big moment this year, then I don't know what is. Astounding job

In 1993, ONE LOSS FSU was put in BOWL COALITION Natty game against Nebraska INSTEAD OF undefeated 11-0 Auburn and 11-0 undefeated West Virginia.
This scenario is not that different: 2 team playoff instead of 4 & one loss FSU was selected over undefeated teams. Thus, this scenario happened in the past & FSU BENEFITED.
FSU was 12-1 with 1575 Scoring points Auburn was 11-0 with 1300 points that answer your concerns

Did FSU have help from the refs in all their wins? That was obviously a touchdown; he had the ball until he hit the ground in the endzone. They never called a tenth of the defensive holding done by FSU, even when the receiver was knocked down. Louisville might as well have stayed home because the winner was predetermined.
Yeah I watched the game live and just wanted to turn it off after the third PI from Green on Thrash that was not called, but the one PI called on Louisville for WR Wilson could be debated that Wilson was trying to push the defender to get better spacing from the ball.
