yuqi is chinese actually but yeah she can speak english :) she is known to have a deep and husky voice. This is her first solo song but no gidle's style is not rock ahaha they just don't have a style we can say :))) Since they are a self-produced group and the leader/rapper soyeon produces most of the title tracks they do have a certain style but still none of them sound the same. Nowadays they have formed a "producer line" in a way composed of soyeon-minnie-yuqi. Okay so basically they follow the styles and give the messages they want to, that's why i am so interested in them you can say amongst girl groups they are literally the one that is most involved in their music. And all vocalists have distinctive tones and styles can't wait for you to hear moreeeee!!! soon pls :))))

this song hits hard, amazing! yuqi is from china, and she improved english just in 1 year time, she got rid of most of her asian accent while speaking english. she also learned korean in 1 year time also, she didn't know how to speak korean when she was a trainee in korea. it is said she have amazing IQ, she was at one of the top schools in china, that is only for the highly gifted people. The rock theme is mainly Yuqi style, another song she produced called LOST had acoustic guitar elements too.
She studied Korean before she became a trainee. She's smart but we as fans shouldn't exaggerate everything...
@@jakel3812 If you count teaching yourself korean as studying. She never learned official korean when she was in China, she studied korean and went for exams when she was in Korea in person. She moved to Korea when she was 18, trained for 1,5 years, so she learned korean while she was a trainee. And she reached level 5 korean proficiency out of 6. Even some native koreans cannot reach that level. Let's see you learn korean with the help of a drama, and then you can talk. I am all about not hyping up your bias for the sake of it, but you need to do better research before criticizing. And whats wrong with hyping up an Idol anyways, does it kill ya?

@@cyc20976 I don't know what to tell you. Her Korean teacher back in China even shared her new song yesterday and you can find pictures of her with her Korean classmates. She did study Korean before she went to Korea and she didn't just learn by herself. I'm just saying don't exaggerate so I don't know why you are getting so mad lol.

As people have mentioned, Yuqi is from China originally, but speaks Korean and some English as well. When reading the chinese characters in her name or reading her name as pinyin for Mandarin, her name would be pronounced "Yu-Chi" as the Q in pinyin (romanized Mandarin) has a "ch" sound. In Korean, the pronunciation of the characters of her name would sound something like "Ooo-gi" or "Woo-gi".

(G)I-DLE's songs have different genres and sound to them. From summer to ballad to hiphop to etc. Since the members mostly composes and writes the songs, they wanted it to be different from each other (especially Soyeon, their leader, rapper, main creator of songs). This shows how talented and versatile the girls are.
