A summary of the war is very simple: Croatia wanted independence, the Serbian minority in Croatia did not want to allow it and with the help of Serbia (Yugoslavian army held by the Serbs) they occupied one third of Croatia in 1991. We managed to free our country through the military operation "Storm", taking back the occupied territories in August 1995. This day, August 5th, is celebrated as the most important national holiday in Croatia. One of the key moments was raising the Croatian flag in the previously occupied city of Knin, which is where they were in the video. This was a moment of great historical significance after four years of occupation of a city that was the home city of medevial Croatian kings and of lands that have always been Croatian.
