Throughout the video you may see that the 1% lows are terrible, but this is not the cpu's fault. For some reason this season Fortnite has some terrible optimizations causing horrendous 1% lows. Not only that but because the 9800X3D is new its also not gonna have such good 1% lows but if you give it some time then it would improve. Also for some reason the cpu usage on 14700k was sometimes wrong so if you see that it was at 1% usage, then just know that it is probably just a glitch. Hope this helps👋
The results in the video are completely normal for Intel. Fortnite is Intel optimized, which is why every professional Fortnite Pro plays with the Intel i9 14900. Intel is always the winner for 1% low fps.

Also, Not saying this person does this, but y’all should beware a lot of these style of videos with these type of thumbnails and no audio are not real gameplay and the RUclipsr doesn’t have the actual components. Also, how did this person get the exact same gameplay on three different matches? Unless you are using replay mode I don’t know how that is possible.
it is replay mode. they switch the parts out, watch the replay back. means the same calculations are run with no differences between them for most accurate results

@@Parify Its worth it getting a new mobo just to get the 9800x3D, the extra 100-200dollars for the mobo is not that a big of a difference for the performance boost from 14700k to 9800x3D

Wait for the 9800X3D to get stronger stock in January 2025, or go to micro center and pick one up. Micro center gets 40-100 9800x3ds per week, the one in Houston and the one in Kansas City both got 30 of them and they lasted all day. Also, the 9800x3d is 25% faster than the 7800X3d in productivity workloads and is actually faster than the 9700X in rendering and other all core workloads AND its overclockable to 5.4-5.5GHz (5.6 if you’re lucky) which gives you another 5-6% performance in gaming and productivity. The 983D basically eliminated all of the weaknesses with the prior gen X3D chips.
The lows and stutter fest i can confirm, no even 8k ram speed can save you from u5 trash performance, but funny the og mode have performance, there is something wrong witn ue5 and amd cpus, others games runs smooth af.

Nevertheless, you can see at 1:48 how the intel processor is taking the lead in the 1% lows department, so it in fact provides the best gaming experience. I tested a heavily overclocked 14900k 6.2 p-core/ 4.7 e-core/ 5.2 ring/ 8400 cl34 and I was still getting squashed in average and peak fps by a 5800x3d at 4.65/ 2100fclk/4200 cl13. But its just a Fortnite thing, many other games don't behave like this.

Even on 4K it would perform almost the same
1080p will give you substantially more fps HOWEVER for me, 1440p makes it easier to spot enemies really far away.

AMD Graphics cards tend to not run Fortnite well, so i would say the 4070 is just a better option.
