The tour got the $3 billion cash infusion from strategic sports group & now they’re stalling & trying hold off the LIV deal for as long as possible. The issue is sponsors are getting upset because if your not one of the elite $20 mil purse events your not getting a strong field. Players are blowing off the smaller purse events & that’s not gonna work . Sponsors are gonna start dropping like flies .

This is 💯 .. it’s going to get worse .. some of 3 billion went to puppets that didn’t need the money

When the deal started, the "independent" directors controlled PGAT and wanted to work something out. Since SSG got in and formed the PGAE, Jay and Tiger Woods are on both boards. Tiger Woods is the co chairman of PGAE. The chairman of PGAE is a PGAT "independent" director. They added a "liaison" player director to both boards. All these people are loyal to Tiger Woods and SSG. They would have never been added to the PGAE otherwise because that's controlled by Tiger Woods and SSG and Jay (6 members, 7 if you add the liaison). The rest are all the remaining PGAT player board members. And one of the PGAT "independent" directors was a director of PGA of A. He was removed. We saw how PGA Championship gave tons of exemptions to LIV. Coincidence that he was removed just before? There was an internal coup to flip the vote, but they haven't told anyone publicly. Spieth and Cantlay (two player board members) have both said the PIF isn't needed.
There is no deal. The players control the PGAT board, but they really don't. It's controlled by Tiger Woods and SSG now. There is no one on either board that wants the deal anymore. They believe that LIV has already failed and are just stalling. It's intentional that nothing is being done. It was the same tactic used by OWGR.
The irony is that the ban is what's hurting the game and PGAT right now. Get rid of the ban and everything goes back to normal.

Jay is the problem. Could have avoided all of this by working with LIV from the start.

Remember Richard bland did not get single dollar to sign with LIV!! But he made more money at LIV then PGAT

No more time for Jay...the PGA needs a new decisive leader now. And also get rid of Chamblee on the golf channel. He is a hater.

PGA hasn’t negotiated in good faith. Why would they start now? I would be surprised if a deal is done any time soon.

LIV isn't going anywhere. PGA Tour isn't going anywhere. LIV players are happy where they are. PGA Tour players don't want them back. Here's what needs to happen: Reinstate WGC events. Get rid of "signature" events. WGC events would have the top players from both tours compete, similar to the majors. Seven stroke play tournaments and a PGA Tour vs LIV Tour, team based, match play event, similar to the Ryder/President's Cup. The players would like it, the fans would love it, TV would love it, win/win/win.

Rahm took a couple of months to make the move to LIV after his win. Xander might be doing the same.

I remember how you two enabled Jay (like most everyone else) when all this started.
He should be fired by the players a long time ago.
He came back from his mental health thing for 15 million a year and hardly ever talks to media or anyone.
Forget deadlines. A deal may or may not happen when
I feel 80 plus should not be in charge of big things but I would take mid 80s Jack as pga tour commish right now.
Xander should take another meeting and make the move.
Eventually all the top players/stars should be on the LIv tour. And should be on the pga tour and other tours. The oga tour like other tours need to have a much smaller number of required events. LIv will and should continue to give fat contracts to commit players for 14 events.

It's crazy to me that this reunification keeps being brought up. I don't really think anyone on either tour wants this, just the fans. I mean why did all the major champions leave the pga. Reunification can be answered in a different way. I mean is the masters open for anyone to play? Why is the US open at Pinehurst this year? Use the majors as a template on what you should do on both tours. The best and most historic golf courses, and let anyone play. I hate when they say the BMW Championship and I'm like where is it at???? Instead say BMW Championship hosted at Cog Hill!!! Make it about the courses and let the players decide where they want to play. We focus so much on the players but so much of the game is about the courses they play at.

Xander made money was showing up EVERY WEEK!.. he GAVE UP every weekend! All goal is to get to major.. PGAT is losing money from sponsors as all the attractive players are in LIV.. we have one time wonder hit.. Brian Hartman , Wyndham Clark… etc also I agree with you guys .. too many cooks in the kitchen.. players should stay out of the business decisions especially Patrick cantlay

They don’t need a leader just play golf. Sponsors will always take tournaments no matter who plays in them and if it happens to be a different sponsor yearly oh well. Also these guys need to stop bitching about money and having to be gone all the time etc… they all make more than 90% of people do in a year. If you want to go to liv go if not don’t complain.
