- After failing to meet the expectations set for yesterday's update, I feel this is the perfect time to discuss the current state of Modern Warfare as well as communication between the developers and the community. What are your thoughts on how Infinity Ward has been handling the community so far?

I would really enjoy not being thrown out a lobby after every freaking game!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they do that so any new players in the game that get stomped don't have to stay in the same lobby and get dicked again lmao

@@Zaouik thats why you have the option to leave the lobby. I get put into games of full sweats 3/4 of the time. When im in a lobby where the teams goes 71/75 that to me is a good lobby and everyone GG eachother i want to stay in it. 12/75 lobbies is the lobbies im put into the most though. Removes any feeling of fun.
This actually doesn't happen... it looks like it does cuz it says "searching for...." after the game is over but the next lobby it finds is with the same players as the previous game. You can check the match summary from the last game to see the same player names as the current lobby. I've checked this a number of times and that was the case.

Infinity ward employees complaining about poor management that doesnt have a clear vision, fights a lot, affect devs negatively, bullies and disrespects devs. May be why we arent getting what we are asking for, and devs constantly fight over it.

OMG -- it is such a simple thing --- KILLS DEATHS -- THEN ASSISTS. I could give a Flying F while the game is going to know how many assists I'm getting. But I regularly check the scoreboard during a match....uselessly hoping to see my K/D
D-f-o the mini map is fine learn to use the compass ... if you just rely on the mini map you’re just bad

@@raymondwong7895 it definitely is louder than csgo also csgo has a way to move silently at a pretty decent speed better than crouch walking for sure and considering your normal speed is slower than cod that's pretty good. And obviously csgo is a much different game than cod. You can't even run or aim down sight in csgo.

It’s cause of SBMM, if you play good then it will put you into harder lobbies, then you will do bad, and you will get put into more fun lobbies, then the cycle continues, it’s so annoying to go like 30-5, or 40-10 and then just getting raped every game after until I rage quit, then when I get back on the same thing happens

Straight up the other day I had 2 games in a row where I was doing great not spectacular by any means I just felt great I was killing and dying and nothing felt like bs the 3rd game I literally couldn't get a kill to save my actual life I was 5-25 before I quit the game after the enemy got their 3rd chopper Gunner

As much as I hate SBMM it's realistically prob not going to be removed entirely. I would love to see them ATLEAST tweak the algorithm it works on tho, bc it's ridiculous that ppl can just tank their K/D for a few games then turn around and get a nuke when they start trying.

Please help us colorblind people Ace! The deuteranopia filter keeps your squad members name and dot green! It is honestly game breaking for us.... I've talked to at minimum 100 colorblind peeps and they agree! But havent been reporting it cause "they wont change it anyway, why waste the time"
Serious question, what exactly is the issue with the game for those super dedicated players? I have my personal issues with the game (which is a lot of them) but I'm not a dedicated COD player, so idk if my issues are the dedicated players issues.
Why is it still 5 custom classes? like with how deep the gun customization is you would think we would be able to get more custom classes just my 2 cents.

I think it's partly due to the fact that you can edit classes in game, now.
Still, you don't always have the time to build a new class during the match.
Saving gun loadouts is helpful for changing classes quickly, though.

They do it to only show positive shit, that way when little jimmy in the corner sees his kills it makes him feel like he’s doing good and it don’t show the deaths because of guys that actually run around and die cause little jimmy is listening for him.

Also doesn't have that animation that plays when you respawn and the camera zooms in from bird's eye view. You just skip killcam and pop in back in the game quick to the action.

@@p1mpdj35 The compass is completely useless on Ground War because those are up to 32 freaking dots you're looking at, with a gigantic map so you can hardly gauge the distance.
The compass is fine, because the mini map encourages 50% of your attention given to chasing dots, and flanking if you can tell which way they may be facing.
The compass only punishes players who don't position themselves around the map and instead opt for going head-on every enemy. Campers see no use for it because they can't tell where someone is firing that gun outside their spot, just that they're outside, but the mini map can tell them EXACTLY where. It's counter-intuitive that you guys want the mini map back, and Ghost to be nerfed, when in reality that only makes the campers stronger. (Ghost was nerfed, btw, it'll now show you on radar for firing your gun. Which is something we like to call "BALANCE", so you must know when to shoot and engage strategically.)
Gun Game is supposed to be a headless chicken mode, just as FFA is. They let you see everyone on the mini map because when everyone's an enemy, you can't tell which areas a teammate has secured, only that everywhere has a potential enemy. They give you the mini-map so that players won't get scared to camp and wait for someone to walk in, rather the attacker will know if a player isn't moving. Maybe if players were patient before entering a room, they could tell if the room had a stationary DOT and react how they want. Or maybe... Not at all, and continue engaging headless chickens around the map.
The mini map may help with campers especially in FFA modes, but once you toss it into team-modes, you're reducing the game into a dummy shooter.
Which is fine, bc 20 CoD games did this, but it's not fine, bc 20 CoD games did this and nobody wants to let this game be and they just go back to the previous DOZEN CoD games that ever existed.

"Exhausting" really is the word. This is the most stressed I've ever felt playing Call of duty. Every match I play it's like the people on the other team are all playing with a million dollars on the line.
I think time to kill is what the problem is. Every game feels like I’m playing hardcore mode
To be fair I've been feeling that with cod games for a while now. The sbmm ruins your chances of having diverse play sessions and being exited after every lobby couples with that. That in conjunction with the positively awful weapon + class variety and a map rotation that goes from shit maps to bearable maps, this game needs an actual big change. You'd think after all these year too they'd make sure to have weapons and maps feeling as good as possible right from the get go rather than releasing shit because getting those things right is what gives the games the power to sustain itself for a long time
They even added Spec Ops content while it's still unplayable... Enemies still spawn non stop, even behind you, have 100% accuracy, shoot trough walls, and kill you in 3 shots. Come on IW!

It's not that hard if you have coordinated team, me and a buddy did the new missions pretty fast with 2 other randoms. The problem is it's just not enough, we were done in like 3 hours or so but it's not that rewarding and honestly. Also the new classic spec ops mission is way more fun than the operations.

This Cod is stressful. hour of playing feels like months. spawns are terrible and campers run the game

Nah I just play Siege instead at least I know I'm not going to die from some dead campers claymore. I love how everyone thinks that we complain about campers we run and gun. The angle mechanic is screwed up someone can literally see half your body before you're half way around the corner.
the god awful maps ruin the game for me. I can only play through like 2 or 3 of them the rest are unplayable IMO. The enemies have like 5 angles of sight on you no matter where you go on these maps. Promotes slow paced camping holding angles. We need the infinity ward classic maps added to save this game

@CanadianLoki76 not when you don't run high kill streaks. in MW2 I only ever ran low streaks to get them more often, in Seach and Destroy a Predator Missile is infinitely more useful than a Harrier or Pavelow

No, it’s not even worth the time. They’ll make adjustments just like they’ve always done. Look at infinite warfare. It wasn’t that good at launch and if you look at it now, it’s one of the best cods. It’s underrated because of how long it took to get to that state, but it still improved so much. But IW definitely has to do something fast this time before it’s too late.
The matchmaking is heavily reliant on your recent games. Reverse boosting will only help you for a couple games before matching your skill again.
It’s a temporary solution that you will have to restart every couple matches to keep yourself in the low skill lobbies.
I keep getting banned from Reddit for posting this so I guess we can spam it in the youtube comments.
Step 1: Make an alt account
Step 2: Proceed to lose and destroy alt account K/D
Step 3: Invite a friend or main account to current game/note worst players ID
Step 4: Join that game with friend/alt/worst players ID
Step 5: pwn
Step 6: Go to recent players and join the worst player of last game
Step 7: Repeat steps 5-7

I used to be able to sit for 8+ hours playing previous CODs, this one is draining and relieved to quit. The slower campy gameplay and too many windows makes it tense and stressful.

Ace.. it’s really sad hearing from you that the game has primarily gone back to just being your job instead of being your job and your joy.
I’ve been playing since the original call of duty on PC and have always gotten a kick out of these games - I took a long break after MW3 and picked back up in the series with WW2 and that’s when I linked up with your videos and breakdowns of everything in the game.
The amount of work you put into your videos is astonishing and you are my primary source for everything I need to know or care to know about what’s going on in the game right now. I gotta be honest It pains me that the game is where it is right now and even more so that you can’t even enjoy it while you do all of this amazing work for us in the community.
I hope for your sake and for all other players feeling the same way we get some better communication from activision and maybe some real acknowledgement of the issues at hand. Where we are right now I can only have fun playing ground war and honestly only for so long.. it’s a couple games every couple days now I just can’t get excited anymore.

Literally same for me. Played the first cod, fell in love with the original MW trilogy, then took a break, came back with WW2. MW is so disappointing
I've been playing since the original mw, and this game is by far the most frustrating. If i do great in one match i know im going to get put in sweat lobbys for the next few...
Yup, last night I had a over a 4 K/D for 2 games in a row, rest of the session was a disaster lobbies full of sweats and a couple of games where my K/D was under 0.5.
Never known SBMM take effect so quickly, the constant new lobbies makes it even worse

Preach it!!! It's a lot stronger for me. I pop off even for like 7 kills in a row the game starts spawning people like 3 feet from me so they can kill me.
I think we have all had it. Once you top the team table about three times on TDM, then just prepare yourself for the sweat lobby where you end up bottom of the table 😂😂 end up at bottom of table for a couple more games, and then you are back at the top of the table a few more games..... and then repeat!! That’s my MW2019 experience in a nutshell
My 3 BIGGEST issues.
1: no prestige mode
2: terrible maps/modes
3: promoting camping(crouch kills, mount kills, long shots for challenges)
EDIT: i miss prestiging because it showed who has been grinding xp. Now we’re all “maxed” at 155 doing challenges that reward xp....kinda useless to do that challenges if you ask me

Spray paint should be one option, then the rest should be some sort of basic team or squad communication. Even in game chat where many people have headsets, there's more trash talk than team communication.

BO4 had it and it was pretty good. People in League Play at least used it to call out when they rotate to the next hardpoint or which bombsite they are attacking, definitely an underrated addition.
If they wanted sbmm they could just introduce a ranked system like every other game on the market, instead they turn public matches into a sweatfest.

Sbmm is the only thing that bothers me. I don't want to play a fun round where I perform well just to get thrown into tryhard lobbys afterwards. Getting raped by a shotgun player that ends the round with a 53 12 K/D while I hardly get 15 Kills because of dieing all the time.
yall sound like babies having a challenge is what makes the game fun to me, i enjoy and seek out difficulty this is why I love this cod compared to the previous ones
Someone who has the final say on some of these gameplay decisions at Infinity Ward needs to drop their ego or get fired.
Seeing those patch notes on PC made me realize that it's most likely not the devs that are not giving us what we want, it's their superiors.... I use to work as a lead at a multimillionaire private organization and the employees and my team would always address concerns to me, i brought it to my manager, and they attempted to bring it to their superiors, but they always 1. didn't care 2. Cared about money too much. 3. Had the mentality of, if it still works ( bringing money) then why attempt to change it, while wasting money. It was things like our systems being outdated etc. It was just some corporate BS .
I feel like the Dev who left that note, know's what is going on, but obviously can't make changes without authorization or approval and unfortunately they're the ones that are getting blamed and death threats... It's exactly the same my corporate company wouldn't get any hate, it was our employees that were " too blame" or myself with my manager, they never blamed the superiors at corporate, because they never came out and were hidden. They needed someone to blame and we were the only ones they knew about.

This. The core ones to blame here are Activision, since I do believe they have to give any go-aheads, and they're the most money hungry part of all of this. I can imagine how broken-spirited that dev who wrote the notes must've felt at the time of writing. Possibly it was even Ashton herself, who obviously doesn't have any nerves left for this shit and is taking the brunt of the backlash.

Imagine us the diehard fans, FORCING ourselves to play because we HOPE the next update fixes the core game. Utter ashamed of how the devs have handled this game for w/e reason. I do think the 3 year cycle has a great impact on why this game is in the mess it's currently in. The game feels like it's barely left alpha stage. But agree with what you said about communication. For them to say 2 weeks ago there will be a BIG OVERHAUL and hinting it's got the update and changes we want to then saying lots of good stuff in here., to then only find out its just bug fixes. It's beyond a joke.
I mean if were going to be truthful here, that's what we do in every release as COD releases are always terrible. Issue for me is they're usually terrible for other reasons. Not core gameplay standards that they've had forever now
@@alfarisw i only judge the core game like yes i'm an aggresive player i like to play objective. But there is no incentive to do that or can do that efficiently at all on this title we gone from one extreme to the other. I'm not against camping at all but making it the only viable strat becasue of how the game runs in it's current state (excluding bugs) it's just not fun. They wanted to bring more new players in, they did such a good job at it the game soundsand looks amazing for a cod for they did that at the expense of the die hard cod fans. Other titles ofc have had rocky launches mainly because of servers etc but none has evre been as bad as what modern warfare is right now.

I havent played the map Arklov Peak. its in the game, but I never play it in mulitplayer. one of my favorite maps in the game.

I would rather the "kills after reload" to be one of the early ones. It is so annoying to reload and then kill someone for a camo.
the complete mechanic for unlocking camos is only occupational therapy...i don't understand why we need to level the weapon to unlock the possibility to unlock camos. i mean we did hundreds of hipfire-kills or kills with mounted weapons etc. and it didn't count - so you need to do them again and again and again and again. the weaponlevel should only unlock mods and camos should be able to unlock from level 1...bad system.

i think the philosophy is that it’s meant to challenge you further. so you spend all the time with the gun in it’s worst state, getting good attachments and getting used to it with good attachments, and if you choose, to rip all that off for kills and go back to no attachments so you can get gold or whatever. it’s not meant to be easy

SBMM is single handedly ruining my experience. There is no variety in play styles or weapons. Everyone just plays the meta to somewhat have a chance of competing. The game is STRESSFUL to play with SBMM. I play on a monitor with Astro a40s and have to sweat my balls off to have a 1.5 K.D. It's not fun. I can't try any weapons other the 725, M4 and MP7 because otherwise I'm screwed. I don't understand why COD, a CASUAL game has to introduce such strict skill based matchmaking. Like I'm aware the game has other issues (725, maps etc.) but even if that were fixed, the game would probably still not be fun to me. Why should I try to get better at the game just to be destroyed more and more? I don't want to demolish noobs every game. I just want variety. Different lobbys with differently skilled players. In other CODs I would have the stressful lobby every now and then, but this game feels like the same sweaty lobby over and over again.

I had a 1.5 kd, but not it’s like 1.34, I’m getting all my guns good starting with the smgs, let me tell you it’s not fucking fun, especially now, I’m using the uzi which cannot compete with any other primary in the game, I use to be a 2.kd player in other cod, but this cod is really pissing me, and I’ve always been against meta things, Because it’s not fun to use a gun that would automatically win the you the game, and I hate overpowered weapons and don’t use them, not once did I even touch the 725 when it was a sniper before all the nerfs
maybe you just suck? I use a pistol only half the time and have a 1.5 KD without trying. I can drop 20 kill Search and Destroy matches with only SMGs and pistols.

There's an actually problem with the game with this. Apparently the servers refresh at 12 Hertz and guns that fire faster than that (which is about 600 rpm) fire too fast for the refresh rate. So the meta guns like MP5, M4, etc, sometimes fire too fast for the servers so you get hit for 2x damage from a single shot. My brother told me that so I'm not the most informed but watching kill cams from those fast firing guns, it makes perfect sense
Funny thing, I left CoD series after Modern Warfare 3 and switched to Battlefield. After frustration of constatly bad releases, with buggy and inconsistent gameplay I left Battlefield series after Battlefield 4. Now I am playing new Modern Warfare and the communication from devs is better and I don´t see it so tragic comparing to Battlefield post launch conditions... But I see some frustration with map design. I recognize Modern Warfare 2 maps as a best maps of whole CoD history. There was no bad map. I loved the open array, it was not so complicated, and even it was not three line... But there was place for every weapon and every playstyle. And there was not such a huge problem with campers.

I love the look and feel. hate the game play. The game encourages camping and punishes movement. the insanely loud footsteps insure that you can never get the drop on a camper, since they can hear you coming a mile away, they just re-position to whatever direction you are coming from. As someone who likes to run and gun, I hate this game, I feel like any movement is immediately punished by some camping shit with a gold M4.
I HATE the M4. its overpowered... when 80% of players run the same gun with the same attachments, you know its OP. the sub-gun boost really helped with that... but most people still run M4's cause its still the meta gun.

Well they added shoot house 24/7 for a reason. They wanted to get a map in that you can rush on until they try to fix other issues. Also, the m4 isn’t even close to what it was before. The snake shot is what pisses me off. It needs to be nerfed asap. It shouldn’t have that much range, with that fire rate, and that much mobility.

The game is changing to attract a wider audience. The incremental change is to acclimate new players to what the core gamers are looking for. They're in denial, and they will get fired like Condrey once the shareholders force activision's hand. Developers get some freedom based on their previous successes, but once Activision loses faith in IW... heads will roll.
If you think of it like that, the patch notes "mistake" makes sense. The worker bees are sick of having their hands tied and being made to look like fools, thanks to the big hats. They totally "accidentally" slipped those side remarks on purpose. I'd bet on it.
lol now that I think about it, those internal remarks "accidentally" posted to the patch notes are like an SOS signal from the workers, letting us know that they understand us but aren't allowed to do anything to fix it.
Been playing since Cod 4 MW (didn't play Advanced Warfare or Infinite Warfare), a few thoughts:
1. This game is really fun and has a lot of potential but the camping is on another level
2. The footstep thing is annoying but I think it's being blown a little out of proportion. It would be such an easy fix but it seems like one of the things they did to make it easier for beginners so will probably not get the adjustment everyone is looking for.
3. I'm not sure if it's a result of SBMM but one game it feels like I'm playing AI bots on recruit and the next game it's MLG gamers. And too many games with bad connections.
4. Whatever happened to lobbies, giving you the chance to play with the same people for like 45 minutes. It was super cool and actually a way to meet some virtual friends to play with.
5. I miss the map voting but it feels like there are only 4 or 5 maps for 6v6 and they're all terrible. An easy way to redeem themselves would be to bring map some classic maps from the old MWs

It's really not the longest challenge.. just got to combine challenges (ex. A crouching, mounted, longshot headshot with all or no attachments)

Playerbase wise, yeah I agree with you but this game still had a laundry list of problems that even the commentators couldn't even address while we faced issues immediately when the beta dropped.
I get that RUclipsrs need to promote the game for views and make a living, but a line needs to be drawn on whether or not a AAA shooter is up to the fans standards and ready to be released. RUclipsrs should know this just as well (if not better) than us. MP wise this still looks like a freakin beta.

Tell you a secret, a lot of developers don't completely play or finish their games after launch. It's because they put so much effort and time while developing it that the game isn't a game for them but a job. I used to be a games developer and I saw that maybe around 10-30% actually finished their games after launch.

This is the first CoD I've actually put more than 1 hour into and honestly, as a new player, even I'm not having fun. I picked this game up becaus I wanted to have some casual fun, grind for skins etc. Instead I'm just struggling with sweaty match lobbies, cluttered messy maps that have way to many spots to hide in, really poor visibility, unbalanced weapons etc etc... After more than 60 hours in this game, the fun is all gone. I'm pretty much already burned out on it and ready to got back to playing sweaty R6S matches all day.

They know they're making their core audience unhappy. That's why they hold off on things like Gun Game, so they can add them when needed in order to fish for that 'positive sentiment' from the players they know they're angering.

Why would I stick around to only "hope" for improvements. They gave us an incomplete game. We spent $60 for a beta and it's still broken. Smh.

It’s well established that what developers want and what publishers/executives want are two very different things. I have no doubt in my mind Infinity Ward want to address some of the issues in this game, but Activision has had a history of prioritizing money over everything at the expense of making fun experiences. Just look at what they did to Destiny.
Activision will permit IW to address these concerns when it is financially beneficial to do so, and not a moment sooner; they already got their investment back tenfold anyway.
I haven’t played it for weeks. It’s good to see that many people are not satisfied as well.

They need to bring back scorestreaks. Playing the objective on a kill streak is just too risky and you're not rewarded for it. I know point man is an option but scorestreaks need to be the default. WW2 did this right with Blitzkrieg being the option for someone that wanted just kills to earn killstreaks.
There is a perk in the yellow category to get scorestreaks instead of killstreaks

Noob here, 41 yrs old, just got back into gaming in the last year after about a 25 yr absence and this is my first cod game. I love it, probably the funnest game I’ve played yet since being back. A bunch of the guys I know personally whom I play with and have been with the franchise for years love it too. I was just having a discussion with a long time player I work with this morning, he said besides a couple of mild gripes, he thinks it’s the best cod game all time.

Sledgehammer Games had better communication with their community during the last few months of CoD WW2's life cycle. Treyarch's communication with us isn't that good anymore.
I knew I should have bought a physical disc so I can get $5 back when I trade it back in to game stop.
In its current state, this game is exhausting to play.
Thank God I didn't buy this game dude, I knew it would be a problem since beta. I'm having fun with other games at the moment.
Are you kidding me?! They took one of the greatest game mode (Gun Game) and just absolutely screwed it up for us. Nobody wants NVG in gun game. It's bad enough that I can't hear very well but to have to deal with tunnel vision on a casual mode, nope. A big fat nope.
They also took all the weapons and put the worst possible attachments on them. Over half of them literally take 2-3 seconds to ADS on top of weapons upgrading taking longer than it usually does. I was going to say spawning is wack but that doesn't pertain to Gun Game alone.
If it's nothing like BO1/BO2, I don't want it back.
They know what we dont want and literally say it in there notes and ignore it lmao what does that say about them
I've had high K/D's in the past, some over 2.00 and even then I wanted to get better bc I enjoyed the game, but with MW there is no want or need to get better bc the better you get the worse you'll do, and bc of that the game is just not enjoyable to me.
Ikr, I'll have two or three good games, but then I know I'm bout getta screwed for the next 5-6 games cause now I gotta play the good kids 😫. I'm not even that good either . My kd rn is 1.08 and I'm lvl 101. @ lvl 60 I was 1.15

Same. I've been a 1.45 to a 1.80 type player since the first modern warfare and Black ops,with black ops 1 being my best at 1.80 with 60k kills. I am hovering at the century mark 1.01. I can honestly say I like the game but it's a chore to play which unfortunately is keeping me away. Guess I'll keep playing outer worlds until they release remastered old maps
@arson26pyro this whole sweaty matchmaking experience is so much worse than my Destiny experience lmao, i'm lvl 35 and have a 1.3 and im being put with 100's and 155's with maxed guns and are camping the hell out of the map, like i cant relax i can chill out more in Siege ffs than this like jesus i cant move around and have gunfights

Our feelings are mutual Ace, I’m giving it one more update then I’m gone. I started COD at the end of BO1, I’ve been following you since the start. Not enjoying this game at all. I think the same thing that happened with WW2 is going to happen here, which sucks. This game has the potential to being the best COD ever.
The time for communication was when all those youtubers got flown out to test the game. Instead they all just sucked up to the developers by saying the game is the best ever. Like they always do. That Developer tweet was her just taking the piss out of the community.
I’m not a pro player, i been playing COD like 7 years already and this game MW has been deleted from my ps4 already, it sucks!
