no, here's what happened if you connect the fan-game to the canon game: After GLaDOS's shutdown, the main power disconnected from the cryo-chambers, so it couldn't preserve any life, and, the calendar system was rigged, so you couldn't set up a wake-up date for the cryo-chambers, so Doug Rattmann connected Chell to the reserve power grid, so she would sleep indefinitely until the power ran out, and the core in-charge of the humans of the cryo-chambers (Wheatley) would wake Chell up, but the cryo-chambers could only keep a human alive and healthy for 20 years, so it was possible that the reserve power would make Chell sleep for longer, which would be terrible, so, Doug Rattmann possibley made AEGIS because he thought his plan for Chell to destroy GLaDOS could fail, and that either Chell would be dragged back inside, then, the other would see the other being dragged inside, so, he made AEGIS to take out GLaDOS once and for all, but he didn't realize that along with GLaDOS, the whole enrichment center would be flooded, and, if it was shut down, it would drain the reserve power of the facility and wake up the test subject connected to the reserve power, in this case, Chell. He planned this so he could wake up Chell in the briefest of delays, but, since a turret shot him in the leg, he couldn't shut down AEGIS himself, so Mel did it herself, and, unknowingly, saved Chell... The reactor core was draining, which was why the power was low...
And then you accidentally cause him to betray you and while trying to knock his old senses back into him, you lose him to space... *crying* I'll be okay, I just need some time..... *crying in the corner*
Lel, I beat this yesterday, and I wanted to watch the ending again without cheating or playing it again. Couldn't find anything, but now this is here, thx. I like to call this game Portal 1.999999999 (u see what I did there?)
The mod itself is great, but the boss fight was quite disappointing. Destroying servers should be just a prelude for the real fight. AEGIS had some servers attached directly to him, these should have been destroyed as well. Some rocket turret comeback would be nice here.
I don’t really understand why Mel had to put the portal gun in the incinerator, is that just me? Also the ending looks kind of the same as portal reloaded a bit

Chell wakes up twice, once after 50 days, the next after a near impossible amount of time (most likely, might be an error with the announcer.) 3. Mel gets out, showing a desolate, dead world around her. Filled with plant growth. So, what happened to the Combine? What about the Resistance? (Both from Half Life 2), is this just an area of the outskirts, or did the Combine get driven off? Did they both fight to the bitter end, causing the extinction of humanity? Yes it’s a fan game but come on. This just made me both confused and sad.
North America might be completely abandoned around the time of Half-Life 2. The Portal Storms are centered around the ruins of Black Mesa so the Combine must have relocated what remained of humanity as far away from Black Mesa and the Storms as they could. That's why Half-Life 2 takes place in Eastern Europe. North America is pretty much uninhabitable. That probably means Mel is the only one on the continent and that she'll probably get eaten by some Xen creature the moment she takes two steps into the forest.
In Portal 2 we see the earth from space and it's full of greenery and blue oceans, so it must take place sometime long long after the Combine left Earth
I'm so late, but it's hinted that GlaDOS has been fighting off the Combine for quite a while. Imagine having the entire facility, made out of manipulate-able panels, fighting you at every turn as you try and reach GlaDOS. It would be a massive pain in the arse to deal with, and probably killed many Combine. So Aperture is somewhere near the Combines reach and if GlaDOS wasn't such a murderous maniac the Aperture Labs would probably end up as humanities strongest bastion against the Combine.
well the big reference was the ending cutscene... everything happened in half life 1 + 2 with the destruction on the overworld and the invasion and now she gets released in that world
They wouldn't leave an area, there would at least be some searching for escaped citizens...and also you would still see gunships and stuff from a far those things are HUGE
