1...Re8 was a blunder. 1...Ra6!!= is a draw due to stalemate. I saw exactly the same position in a hungarian first class game between IM Gyula Horvath and IM Anita Gara from 2010. The point is the rook can't be taken due to stalemate, and any other moves ends in a draw too

After Ra6+ Rf6 R×f6 + was a simple draw because K×f6 K×h7 Kf7 Kh8 g6 stalemate

When the kid moved King to h6 , black should have captured the rook, if white captured back it was a steal mate (ends up in draw !!)
