    Thank you for this cute and sew very easy way to make the bow tie! I have used this many times now to make "reading pillows" from some cute Dr. Suess fat quarters that I purchased - the Cat in the Hat always has on his bowtie! Thanks Laura!

    Many thanks for your demonstration. I have very old bowtie patches already completed by a previous seamstress. However, I needed to make more to balance out colors. Your video made the construction so much easier than I anticipated.

    Oh I just love this method of doing a bow tie block! Thank you for taking the time to even show us possible different layouts. I really appreciate all the details and hints you give for sewing this more accurately -- things like placing the fabric right up to the needle down position. You've done an excellent job in teaching us a more clever way to make this block. Thank you!

    I am also into dots, and your colors are perfect, I made mine a "Kissing Fish " quilt for my granddaughter. On this quilt can you help with if I want to make a twin to a full size how much material I would need. You are very cheerful, plus you make everything so easy.

    • @SewVeryEasy
      @SewVeryEasy  9 лет назад +1

      Thank you I'm so gad you enjoyed the video. It really is a fun block.It is one of my go to blocks. Let me do some math and get back to you for the fabric you will need.

    • @SewVeryEasy
      @SewVeryEasy  9 лет назад +1

      I should ask, how many colors are you going to use?

    • @1bcsurvivor
      @1bcsurvivor 9 лет назад +1

      SewVeryEasy As my grandson is picky, he only wants black, gray and navy blues, so I have been collecting just waiting to start this quilt for him.

    • @1bcsurvivor
      @1bcsurvivor 9 лет назад +1

      SewVeryEasy As I will be making quite a few of these quilts, the colors of the ties will change, I am roughly looking at how much material for background, and rough est. on how many yards of print, that way I can figure out how much of each. I am looking for a twin & full size Thank you

    • @SewVeryEasy
      @SewVeryEasy  9 лет назад +6

      1bcsurvivor Well I used 1 1/2 yds. of back ground white for this crib size, this did a little border too. So if you want the a queen size it would be double. 3 yds. The colored you will need a little more then the background because of the little squares. The total in colour was 11/2 yd so again double that then divide by how many colors you have.,,myself I would by 4 yds of white and each time I find a dot that I like I would buy at least a 1/2 yd. keep making the blocks as I go along. This way the quilt is being made as I go along. When I have all the blocks made I would put them together. Kind of a "quilt as you find"quilt.If I have too many...make a smaller quilt. I hope this helps.:)

      SewVeryEasy grazie mille per la tua risposta così veloce. da poco tempo ho scoperto il patchwork. ho guardato i tuoi tutorial che sono bellissimi!!!!!! Purtroppo non so come usare la squadra per tagliare i blocchi finiti nell'esatta dimensione finale ( non capisco dove posizionare la diagonale dei 45 gradi ). potresti pubblicare un tutorial per spiegare l'uso della squadra ? Un abbraccio dall'Italia. Liliana

Io non ho ancora trovato in Italia quella squadra e sto usando una squadra normale . Ti faro sapere come procedono i miei lavori seguendo tutti i tuoi tutorial che sono perfetti. Posso sapere , per una mia curiosità, come mai capisci l'italiano ? Un abbraccio. Liliana
