    Bought this after watching this video. No regrets!!!! So grateful for it. I used to lounge on a yoga mat over wooden floors. And that was cool, but I’ve been wanting an outdoor hammock so bad and for so long😂 My patio is 38 inches wide, so I knew that a hammock had to be compact to make it. The swiflet is only 34 inches wide. Knowing that after I saw this video made me take a chance on it😊

    When portable hammock stand are past the fad stage and more reasonably priced I'll seriously consider one. I could also make one that's lighter for maybe $80

    Thank you for making this video, sir. The net will work if you use two tarp poles with a tarp ofc.

    You could run a tight string through the DragonFly from each end to create a peak in the netting

      Yeah since then I've learned of a few interesting ways to set it up and that's definitely one of the solutions!

    A trampoline frame on a bike trailer makes a good portable hammock frame and improvised hot tub.

    I know this video is a promotion for the hammock stand. BUT REALLY ... Not being able to hang the hammocks from those two trees is not the hammocks fault but the persons who was not prepared or picked the wrong trees.
    Been arguing with myself to get one and really would jump on it if it was about 3 more feet in length. Yes I have a single hammock , a ENO and a Hummingbird. The additional 3 feet would let me use my Clark Tropical , Hennessy and even the Warbonnet ones. Especially when car camping in campgrounds without trees.

      Kammock JUST came out with a length extender which will do exactly as you (and as I) want. Check out their website. They also came out with clever poles which will allow you to attach a tarp overhead, making this THE ultimate hammock stand.

    I feel as if you could’ve tied the dragon fly laces to the poles/carabiners you used to tighten the hammock

    • @GoingAwesomePlaces
      @GoingAwesomePlaces  Год назад

      Yeah for sure and making it super tight right? Tying it around nearby trees could’ve also worked as well but didn’t have them around.

    Odd question, but what is the max height of the frame? Im trying to see if it will fit inside a mesh shelter. Thank you

    Their website says 300lbs not 400lbs 😔 I really thought that could be my stand. I guess I'll just build one for a lot less.

    Hi,
    May I ask how tall are you? I am looking for a stand that I can put on my balcony and I wonder if it's possible to actually sleep in it comfortably? I feel like taking this instead of normal chair for fishing is a bit absurd, at least to my taste, but it might be a good option to put on balcony if I can lay on it flat (I am a bit tall).

    • @GoingAwesomePlaces
      @GoingAwesomePlaces  3 года назад +1

      Hey I’m 5’9”! Hope that helps. If you have the space on a balcony, that could totally work and would be pretty sweet!

      @@GoingAwesomePlaces I gave up on this stand in the end. Appears shipping to Europe costs $255 which is not acceptable. I bet they lunch a rocket and home deliver with helicopter, but I am a poor man and I don't have a helipad, so had to bail out.

    • @GoingAwesomePlaces
      @GoingAwesomePlaces  3 года назад +1

      Ah man I feel you. Being from Canada, the shipping + potential customs and duties is always something that increases prices of things many fold over. I hope you find something else that works for you!

    DO you know if in lounge mode this would fit a larger hammock like ENO Supernest?

    • @GoingAwesomePlaces
      @GoingAwesomePlaces  3 года назад +3

      This isn't something I've tested but in looking at the specs, the ridgeline length is 96" with the long bar for the Swiftlet and the length of the Eno Supernest is 96" as well so in theory I think it would work.

    The reason you had issue setting up your hammock was your ignorance. It was not the trees, just you didnt know what you did not know what you were doing. No excuse not to do research. Dont blame the tool

    I can tell you’re not very experienced with hammocks. You can make that bug net to work but you tried to show everyone this product without any knowledge which defeats your salesmanship goals, plus I’d gather it doesn’t make the manufacturer very happy.

      Your video helped me, thanks! Sometimes there just a two suitable trees where you need them, totally a thing. Laying in my Swiftlet right now. I need to find a way to rig up some shade, at least for part of it. There are few chairs and shade where I am.

    • @GoingAwesomePlaces
      @GoingAwesomePlaces  3 года назад +1

      Awesome!! I’m so glad to hear this helped. If it’s in your backyard you can try to use a patio umbrella. Otherwise there’s always the camping style of rigging some tarp with rope maybe?
