    If your a strong person and can pray, then im sure your safe in what ever you do... We show our apache crown dancers not only for entertainment but for those who are lost in their apache culture. just letting everyone know out there we still have our culture and its still alive and still going strong with our prayers.

    Proud be a full blooded Dishchii Bikoh Apache. Our culture was not meant to be shared by videos or photos, it was meant for healing, praying n simply giving thanks back to mother earth. Modern technology has made a major impact from preventing this to be private.

    Thank God that these ways are kept alive. I wonder if a band from 1800 would recognize the paint,clothes,and ritual? Wondering how much things have evolved. Ashamed we are only familiar with antiquity and don't know our fellow countrymen, the first people.

    Apache and Navajo are similar groups both tribes have a lot similar ways in there language & Tradition but nice performance

    • @asht.1502

      Okay okay imma point this out pretty clear. Although I'm Half Navajo and Half Apache. But Navajos don't have "Gaan-Mountain Spirit" but they have "Cheiis-Holy People who provide for the Díné", there's a difference The 'Gaan' dance for a purpose. A purpose of dancing around the Semigaysa and the Cheiis dance for Healing and Food for the winter. But yes! we have the similar language but different culture and different songs. "Gaan" all represent something like a Element, Animal, Life, for example: During a Sunrise Dance for the semigaysa, They dance around her so she can make it to the door ways of Heaven and "Gaan" if u know 1 keep it to urself don't tell no one whose who under those masks. I believe its the same way to the "Cheiis" right? but These "Gaan" do represent The Four Colors, Four Winds, Four Animals, Four Mountains so Some of u think Joe thonnie is showing off these "Gaan" for healing and blessing but actually He's showing dem off for Money and show like at a school I went to He made everyone pay 45 to see dem but its ceremony so He's doing it for the Greed of Money, 1 day Joe Thonnie will eventually get ill or sick for his stupid doing of showing off the "Gaan" Some will try and defend him and some will try and Protect him but guess what!! The Apaches from White River and San Carlos, Bylas Do not want to Hear or even see Joe cuz they hate him for his doing and yes he steals songs from Other Tribes. Plus Half of his songs don't mean Nothing just words added in to make it seem it is a song but its not... Go to a real Sunrise Dance and hear REAL Songs by the Medicine man and his helpers for example: Go see Hart's dances and Bert Hinton's Dances those r real songs and a real gaans so don't be stupid and believe in Joe, Joe is just a Greedy Man.

      Joshua Tessay I kind of said my opinion on the Navajo & Apache traditions, so I guess you could say I have grown to hate people that try and say Navajo & Apache have similar traditions and they don't actually. (Gaans are protectors, and the Yei Bi Cheiis are providers.. Both aren't the same in traditional sense yazhi)-What my grandparents told me. So I say what my parents, grandparents and relatives told me about both tribes and prove people wrong in that process, i care about my díne and chísh'i sides so yeah pretty much I love being a rez girl who cares about traditions on both sides
      But thank you, and I should edit this comment lol

      Other than gaans and ye'iis... Apache and Navajo share the belief of Changing Woman and the puberty ceremony she gave to the women. This, to me, is more archaic because women are sacred to both peoples.

    Still learning about my apache blood, and the closest I've ever gotten to it is a man who claimed that he had a direct bloodline to geronimo. But that doesn't help me much. I do know that apaches were(are?) fierce warriors that handled themselves when neccessary.

    To all Navajos and Apaches and all Athapaskan speakers, I assume we all know we are related cause we speak a spiritual language.
    Don't you think these dances shouldn't be on the internet? cause the world don't understand our ways, and Healing. like Most Religious freaks. i would find it upsetting seeing my Navajo Sacred Healing being online like Yei Gods.
    Do we (native americans) all hold our culture valuable and unique?
    i respect the all the tribes and dying tribes, which we live our ways.

      I was gonna say I didn't think that the Crown dances were allowed to be recorded. As well as any ceremonies.

    • @ApacheKidd
      @ApacheKidd 6 лет назад +1

      Candi Hixenbaugh They aren’t suppose to be recorded but some where down the line it changed.

    • @minniemouska4320
      @minniemouska4320 5 лет назад +2

      I know they are considered sacred, but if they are recorded at least they will never be lost. So many tribes are losing their language, dances, and culture due to assimilation.

      I can understand your point of view. I am not a native American... I am a child of this earth, and I consider myself tremendously honoured and blessed to be able to witness such beauty and depth. Respect!

    That's what I thought too.....Navajo's are very strict about filming their ceremonies as they should be. I don't know what kind of ceremony this is but if it not medicinal then I assume it is ok, but I still don't feel that our fellow Native's should show our sacred ceremonies.....it's all we have left.
