      Cheer mate, it was a small one, i'd guess around 100lbs?

      @@thejerseyspearo1792 wow..! Our concepts of “small” are quite different 😅 What a sight! I loved the way you were just bumbling around with an old rope then the next second a monster just cruises by… incredible. Would have been a true fisherman’s tale if you didn’t have it on camera!

      @@soggymids7630 It's illegal to shoot them in Jersey, and I only had a 75cm single band gun so would have just lost my gear if I had shot it.

    Incredible, Lets hope we get a recreational catch and release fishing quota soon. I'd give my left one to fish for a Bluefin in the UK.

    Gonna sound like a funny question but..... Is that white stuff floating about spunk? I've noticed that when it's mating season for seabass that gloopy stuff is always floating around and I came to the conclusion it was spoof from the males🤭🤭🤭

    • @thejerseyspearo1792
      @thejerseyspearo1792  2 года назад

      Not sure what it is, I just thought it was algae, the camera makes it look a lot more white than it actually is, it's more like light green.

    You're swimming in sewerage, Those bacterial colonies are exactly like the ones you find at ocean outfalls

      thats because ocean outfalls are in the ocean and those things live in the ocean nothing to do with sewage lol

      Yeah, and with his setup all the chance to , at best, have the fish tear off, at worst, lose his whole rig.
      Potentially causing the fish to needlessly die if shot in the organs.

      Our gear is setup for small fish, I had a single band 75cm gun. If I had taken a shot I would have lost all my gear. It is also illegal to shoot them over here in the UK.
