Apple CarPlay installation on SLK

This is a quick video diary of my experience getting CarPlay installed for my 2012 SLK.
It doesn’t have a Becker type box in the glove compartment so this installation places the box behind the display.
The box and installation was via VEEHIVE.

Hi Sean, on the strength of your video, I bought a module from VEEHIVE, had it installed here in NZ and pleased to say it’s working very well. The only problem I have is the aspect ratio in Apple Car Play mode is incorrect. The installers tell me it needs a software upgrade? VEEHIVE support have not come back to me. I’ll explore the settings over the weekend and see if there’s any adjustment settings. Thanks for taking the effort in making the video and sharing.

To operate Siri, I don’t need to press any buttons just simply say… “Hey Siri…” Perfect!

That is the Comand Online unit NTG4.5, all of the 4.5 have the yellow background. The newer version with the grey background is NTG4.7

I just saw photos showing NTG 4 having yellow background and NTG 4.5 with grey. Anyway, glad I got the right unit!
