Just went there on Sunday. They have fixed a lot of the guns on flooded mine. The scoring displays used to be red and they’re now blue. Although that’s happened, I do agree that within the next year or two that they do a massive renovation on it. It’s way past due. The scenery in the ride is just getting so old it’s just not standing up to the test of time. I don’t think that they will move the train station. There just isn’t another option and putting it where the old fire in the hole was would be a terrible idea since that area gets so congested as it is. I think it would be a great idea to open up a pathway next to the opera house and loop it around to outlaw run. With the festival area mentioned, I think they’ll eventually open up a path to connect to Grand Exposition and the new fire in the hole. Just my two cents on it all.
I'd love to see a new Flooded Mine! It would be sad to see another classic ride go, but it's aging just as badly as Fire in the Hole was. I was always fascinated by the animatronics as a kid, so if they do re-build, they better not skimp out on those! 😂
Flying threatre or another darkride to replace the old Fire in the hole. Or a replacement for the saloon. It is to small. Maybe turn the OLD fire in the Hole into the new enlarged saloon with a bigger menu. Then add a flat ride to the old saloon site.
It would be really cool to finally get an expansion for silver Dollar City. I would love to see more shops I don't think they have enough. And just like Dollywood it would be really cool to see a new themed area maybe like a steampunk area I know there's a small one by the time traveler but it would be cool to get a bigger area. It would cost around $700 for two people so a bigger silver Dollar City at that price would be great.
What if they relocated White Water within the expansion? It’s rather constrained in its current location, there is not much room for expansion on the strip. Plus, they could treat it like Six Flags does with Hurricane Harbor where you pay one admission price, they could make a lot of money with rental fees for rafts and cabanas that way.
I'm guessing you missed the part where I talked about the building and why that won't work. It's not aged well and it won't be that long until it isn't safe anymore. The building can't be saved, and it going to have to be torn down. There isn't any choice on that.
@@SirWillow yeah I know about that but what I mean is that should do like you said about taking down the building but after it is taken down they should make a new building
I agree w/Sir Willow - not enough sit-down restaurants in the park - it would be a big revenue producing space, as well as bring more jobs to the park.
@@brucewallace3860 Yeah, much as it could be cool to see some sort of museum there, a sit-down restaurant(with indoor seating) should be a higher priority for them. I'd also be thrilled if that restaurant offered something other than BBQ or typical theme park food, but I digress...
What a lovely background tree and that one bird I haven't heard here in wisconsin all winter long I guess they haven't fully migrated up here so that was a fun trip to hear in the background
I fully support making the Pumpkin Plaza area a more permanent festival-centered area! I’d also love a year-round version of Foggy Hollow, colors based on the time of year! Whether that fits SDC’s theme or not, I love Foggy Hollow too much to care😂 This is just me dreaming up my own stuff, but I think a people mover style “mine cart” ride around a section of the park could be fun! Separately, I always thought a Ferris wheel would be fun in the park. Maybe in Grand Expo? Or whatever areas they expand the park closer to the lake could be very picturesque for a Ferris wheel.
Regarding Foggy Hollow, I think they could also have that area decorated according to the current festival.(At least for a flower/garden festival, Harvest Festival, and Old Time Christmas, anyway...)
The mine opens on very busy days or for special groups. Pork rinds are probably a sore spot right now, since that's what started the fire a couple of years back.
@@SirWillow I thought it was the funnel cake stand that started the fire ? Did you or anyone else do a video about the final fire marshal report? Just asking because we never saw or heard anything after the fire.
Excellent video. As someone who knows theme parks, you bring a lot of knowledge to your “educated guesses.” My attachment to SDC goes back to the early 60s - now I can’t wait to take my grandchildren! Another ride I think might be re-vamped is the Log Ride - it’s dated, but I also think rides like that and the Flooded Silver Mine will continue to be slower/fewer drops than the terrific coasters they have put in place in the past decades. SDC has always had rides at different ‘levels’ if you will, and I think they will continue to do so. A resort? I’m ALL IN! They would do it right and guests and park would benefit.
Yeah Outlaw Run is just crazy that it was at the end of the Midway. I agree I hope that they redo the flooded mine. It is getting tired but we still love it. Yeah if the Hershend's moved a whole mountain top for DollyWood expansions just think of the possibilities.
I'd love to see you do a speculative video on what you suspect the SDC resort will/would be like.(Both likely and wishful thinking) Do you think they'll have a special shuttle taking guests to and from the Springfield airport, for example? How would it compare to Still Waters Resort?
I think you are right about a resort. DOLLYWOOD opened one and as you said successful. I think they should have more employ parking. It could take 45 minutes for employees to get to their shift.
Great video, as always! I've been wondering recently, with the park re-doing Lost River (now Mystic River Falls), FITH, and eventually Flooded Mine, how plausible do you think a re-do of American Plunge is? I definitely think it needs a revamp of some kind, but due to the tricky location it's in I'm unsure how much could be done for it. Interested on hearing your thoughts on the matter!
This is just a comment, but when people want to be first to ride Fire in the hole and a long line forms the opening ceremonies are kinda over looked with everyone standing in line.
What's next? The Disney-fication of course. And that is in no way a good thing Which means eventually the pumpkin plaza is the future home of the drag queen story festival

Glad to hear that they've fixed a lot of the guns on flooded mine!
Was there last weekend and all the guns on boat one were already broken 😢 at least for our ride. Hopefully fixed now
Love watching your videos, Sir Willow

When we went to SDC, the friend we were with seemed to feel that the old Fire in the Hole would become a hub area.

if anything needs an overhaul at SDC, its Thunderation. My back would thank them severally if they would retrack it.

I was thinking about your videos the other day ❤ you're awesome 😎👍🏻
It would be nice if silver dollar city redo the fire in the hole building into a museum

Need another nice family coaster like a slinky dog dash type in grand exposition area.

I think another sit down restaurant would be good. I know on busy days people wait 30 minutes just to order food.
Have you heard anything regarding the mine restaurant or pork rinds maybe coming back?
The mine opens on very busy days or for special groups. Pork rinds are probably a sore spot right now, since that's what started the fire a couple of years back.

It was definitely the pork rinds. But the fire spread from there and caught the other buildings, including friend fancies which had the funnel cakes.
You speak of Silver Dollar City so much it makes me want to make a trip to MO and visit it. They should sponsor you. Hope all is well!
I'm honestly surprised that SDC hasn't built a resort yet.
👍🏻

In my opinion, they need a good modern dark ride to really seal the line up. Something with maybe the trackless technology.
I'm personally hoping we get the return of Rube Dugan's Diving Bell. Think Star Tours, but with an underwater, steampunk vibe.
Is Outlaw Run as rough as topper track RMC woodies are rumored to be? Could retracking that like Lightning Rod be in the future if it is?

I'm quite confident in saying that's not something that will show up at SDC for a variety of reasons.
