The third chorus where Meat steps out of shot and Jim is left in the frame on his own, it sort of looks like Jim is singing with Meat's voice. It's kind of sweet. 🥰
You can tell they're both embodying the song in their own ways. Steinman the creator, Meat Loaf the performer. Neither misses a note. Also what are those shoes Steinman is wearing? lol
This is fucking pure gold. There’s absolutely hardly zero videos of the great Jim Stienman at the piano. Thank you thank you to whoever videotaped this.
Oh captain my captain, I'm blinded from all this tears and my brokenbleeding heart couldn't heal anymore...I love you my Big Teddybear, hopefully now you both best buddies are finally reunited and will rock the whole damn heaven each and every follow day!
I saw Meat live in his Bat out of Hell II tour. Been a fan since he started in the 1970's. I wept at his passing. He was a ROCK OPERA. No one can do what he did.. RIP Meat....
To have discovered this on the anniversary of Meat's passing feels fated. This performance is simply special, Meat is firing on all cylinders with his newfound voice, leaner frame and ultra cool confident energy ready to take on the world with Bat 2. Not to mention the rapport with Jim Steinman which is on full display here.
This is incredible! Massive thanks to the audience who recorded this footage, more importantly, why wasn't their an official video recording made of this concert?? The rarity of Jim Steinman performing on piano (especially in the 90's) should have been sure thing for a concert recording. Mind boggling!
This is amazing! To watch Jim playing that piano with so much energy and singing the lyrics in passion gives me an impression of his creating songs. Meat at his best! ❤
Brilliant to see them together. Jim was just about as brilliant in showmanship as Meat as you can see. Brothers at peace, Rockin the fuck wherever they are now 🤘🤟🎹🎸🎤
This is such an amazing version of the song. So much emotions from both Steinman and MeatLoaf. Thank you to both of you, may you guys be rocking in heaven
OMG never seen this. This is sooo rare. Love it! Briljant. Best footage of Meat ever. Love seeing Jim playing so passionate and Meat singing his heart out in best shape he had ever been. Everything is perfect in this performance
Holy moly. This. Is. Precious. The footage we've all wanted to see for so long, I can't believe it's actually there. This must be how it feels to stumble across a missing Doctor Who episode. Just magic. Love their banter at the beginning and that hug at the end broke me.
I have always wondered what these two were like when they were together. I hope someday Pearl will post a video of Meat and Jim together because I want to see how goofy they were together if she has some
My biggest regret in life is not seeing both of them together on stage. Their music will live on for many years!! Jim is an absolute genius at song writing! ❤😢 RIP to them both
This is incredible and so inspirational. Thanks Ad and Patty Ruebeck! The passion is off the charts. I wish there was far more Meat and Jim live stuff from this era and beyond. If it hadn't been for Jim and Meat I would never have played piano. I played the living crap out of AFL and Objects in those days. Still play these songs today.
This was always one of the most personal songs Meatloaf sang, because of his family background. (Apart from being a typically outrageous Jim Steinman song title.) Seeing them doing it live is pure gold. Separately, they were exceptional, together, they were on a different level again.
I've actually been waiting for this one. All you could find previously of this performance were still photos and voice recordings. Thank you so, so much
Oooh. As a brand new Meat Loaf fan just discovering his music, I literally just learned about this concert a few minutes ago, and found this while searching for video. This Is Awesome!! :D
Thank you for this. It is truly special! I miss them both massively. I can just imagine them both rockin out on the clouds in heaven! Would have loved to have been there in the flesh to see them perform this together ❤️
Alan Merrill was an icon on his own. For me, as a Meat Loaf fan it's sad that he enriched the band in a time where there aren't too many video recordings. I am sure you saw the few concerts from this era on my channel (or elsewhere) I'll check my archives for some good material. If I find it I will upload it! I didn't know he followed this channel. That's a real honor to me.
@@MLConcerts Alan was always keen to look out for video of himself for the same reason you give, There simply wasnt much of it -so he was always looking to see if anything "new" showed up. Alan certainly was an icon on his own, and my best friend in the world He would be glad that people like you are keeping the flame alive, not just for Meat Loaf but also the cast of wonderful musicians surrounding him as they too take their curtain call. Alan was truly a treasure. I miss him so much, The loss was and is devastating still xxx
@@ludovica8221 It's a great thing you keep your friends legacy alive by continueing to keep an eye out for him. Alan's impact has been bigger than many realise. As I said, from a Meat Loaf community stand, fans have been proud to have him in the Neverland Express and part of that community, because of his own legacy. It's a privilege to talk to you about a man you so love. And the fact that you still miss him, nearly 4 years after his sad passing says very much about the person that Alan Merrill was!
@@MLConcerts Thank you. I curate a few FB Alan Merrill page/groups. posting usually 4 times a day some photo or other info- usually one of his own posts re-shared. He is *never* forgotten. Thank you for your kind words. I am often aware how little valued he was by the world so its good to hear from someone who really appreciates him.
@@ludovica8221 very cool. I can't think of a better and more loving way to keep Alan alive. Posting and re-posting give people the chance to remember, love, learn and (re) discover Alan! Really much respect for your dedication! He really has a fantastic friend in you. In fact our little conversation made me look back at the concerts with Alan. So you truly keep him alive!
To watch Jim mouthing all the words. Amazing.
I love that too!!!

These two were magic together.
Is there more like this?
With Jim on the piano?

This is the GREATEST YOU TUBE VIDEO I have EVER seen! And was that Patti Russo? Goddess!
God please tell me there’s more footage of this show! This is magical!

My favorite performance from meat and jimmy, so happy a cam was found of this one. Meat Loaf is forever the king!
amazing. Meat sounds perfect here and Jim is shredding.
This is the master peace. I always wanted to see Jim steinman and Meat in a concert together performing. Love them both forever always ❤️

There is an official recording. Excerpts from it shown on the VH1 Behind The Music documentary episode, but it was never released.

Jim pounding at the chords so awesome. I wish there were more videos of him at the piano. If you know of any please post the links
This is such rare GOLD!....Jim is showing no mercy to that piano! I mean check out his moves at about 6:52

Do you happen to have the full concert of this ?
