This is one reason I fucking love RUclips; I can just go on RUclips and learn new stuff that's actually useful and can benefit me in life. Great video!
I also like how quick you were to add the Nintendo Switch among the group of modern computing hardware considering how long it must have taken to produce this video. Most of this stuff is trvial to me since it was taught in first year elec eng but I enjoy your videos more than my early lessons.
This is exactly what I've been looking for. You did a great job at explaining the topic and I really appreciate the in-depth, ground-up approach. I can't wait for future episodes!
blown away by your choice of topic! this is gona be soo good!! computer science videos desperately need popularising. With videos like this, now anyone can learn computer science, and everyone need to learn computer science today!
I just explained this to a friend the other day. It's great seeing someone make a high production quality, easy to follow video about it. Your content is great. I hope you find great success.
As someone who went to school for EE, I am very familiar with the application of the logic gates, but never have I learned how the gates actually work. This video was really good. I loved the breakdown to simple switches and how the telegraph led to these logic gates. I am really looking forward to more videos in this series.
Daaamn, just finished watching the video and felt I had to comment again, this video was amazing, keep doing what you are doing, don't change, just make more! This channel got immense potential!
Even though I already know the basics I will continue to watch this serie just for the great quality of the visuals and the easy to understand explanations ! Great videos !
Wow, just finished chapter 8 in the book code and decided to look for some videos. Then when I found yours I was surprised because it is exactly like what I’ve just read! Just to read your description and find out that you actually used this book as one of the main references lol. Certainly it is an excellent book.
I am extremely excited for the rest of this. Terribly sad that I watched this video today though...as the rest is not done yet. Great work and looking forward to the rest.
This is awesome series, your explanation is very clear. I will be looking forward each video, even I already understand this! :) I really hope this gets viral, so people understand technology they are using every single day much better :) Keep it up!
Hi Josh, so I checked the book out you mention. Holy moly, I hope you have a permission! This is definitely more than just inspiration. He explains the same stuff and uses the same route to explain it and even the same analogies and graphics. Before you continue this series i would highly suggest to really ask the author if he is fine with that! Just to give you an idea what I mean: Nobody can make a book/movie about magician kids who go to a magician school without asking J.K.Rowling for permission. The rights of artists are protected like crazy - which is a good thing I guess.
This is horrifically under viewed. One of the best, most polished explanations I've seen. Keep them coming! You could easily be the next kerzgesakt/GGPGrey
Thank you so much for this, I am looking forward to upcoming episodes. The content you create is of an incredibly high quality and really helps me to understand these concepts, I wouldn't be surprised if in the future you received the recognition of Kurzgesagt and others as the content is comparable.
amazing video. i have always wanted someone to teach me better than my super expensive college did. I do wish you'd've taken your time with it though. Maybe get in a bit more of history of device improvements in it as well. All in all, good enough video to force me to comment. Cheers.
Dude start advertising your channel and hire a channel manager. That way you won't be known as RLL's animator but rather, someone famous. You have a great channel and really good quality content.
I'm little late... Just a bit... At least I don't have to wait for next video. I wanted to look how things work, nice video, really helpful. And I can confirm, it works in minecraft.
This is probably a bit of an odd question, but would it be possible to create a balanced ternary computer using the direction the current is flowing to distinguish between +1 and -1? I'm probably missing something important, but that's why I'm asking.
Josh, quality stuff bro, really informative also great graphics! Work on Thumbnails, use fewer words in them, Find the coolest image you have in the video and use it. Also maybe cut some lines, keep it a bit shorter. And simplified examples would be awesome bonus. Either way, eager to watch you grow :)
Awesome. But you used your finger to activate the relay. But in transistors , they do this switching on and off on their own. My question what is the thing that does that when a human interference in not done. Thanks in advance
Every couple of years I start Code over again... hoping I can eventually get through it. I always get hung up right after the introduction of the logic gates and when he starts introducing the adding machine. I'm not sure he does a good job explaining the carry bit, but I think after watching some other videos, I understand it. Your video was great! Thanks.
This is one reason I fucking love RUclips; I can just go on RUclips and learn new stuff that's actually useful and can benefit me in life. Great video!
This deserves WAYYYY more views. I love learning things from first principles.
I can't begin to express just how helpful these videos are to visual learners like myself. Just incredible.
"So with a small loan of a million dollars from your father." That line was hilarious! XD
I also like how quick you were to add the Nintendo Switch among the group of modern computing hardware considering how long it must have taken to produce this video.
Most of this stuff is trvial to me since it was taught in first year elec eng but I enjoy your videos more than my early lessons.
"With a small loan of a million dollars", where have I heard that before?
That subtle drag
This is by far the best new channel I've discovered on RUclips in YEARS!
