We have stayed at the Calais site 5 times now, when we crossed over last September it was full, luckily we had reserved a space. We walked down into the town which was nice with some good looking restaurants, also saw the dragon operating, people ride on the top of it along the boulevard. Great video nice way to end your trip !

We stopped at calais on our way back home and loved it I wish I could send you a picture of the calais dragon it was brilliant it walks down the prom and you can actually ride on it, an it breaths fire. We then went for muscles and frits just perfect

At 12:30 mins just before the red and white stick of rock if you had gone down the steps there is a Banksy on the wall. Next to the Aire are 2 bus stops, buses are free in Calais. Enjoyed your trip very entertaining.

Isnt it wonderful how other countries make their beach areas so interesting and beautiful for everyone. No rubbish, clean beach and all those beach huts and skate park. You were right to show Calais Plage (pronounced plaaaje). Glad you had a good time. Croque monsieur toasted ham and cheese sandwich. Yes we would have taken the free one as well. A bit over the top just for a bit earlier. That was brilliant getting the earlier one anyway.

Calais is great. From the free public transport to the aire you stayed on and the adjacent campsite (not much more out of season with an ACSI card), great beach and walk along the sea front.
We also loved it when we stayed last year, it surprised us too. The dragon rides look great, it roars, sends out steam down it's nostrils, just fun.

Hi Rob and Lynn, great trip but you missed the tapestry in Bayeaux, was wonder about pets crossing border and if they get a 90 day visa or how it works, I am wondering if long term travel with a pet is even realistic. Ok thanks so much!!!

We used the CCP aire in Calais last year. Fairly quiet and that beach area is lovely. The town centre isn’t particularly nice, the French equivalent of somewhere like West Bromwich but there is a smart suburb 15 minutes walk from the aire (or campsite next door) with a tiny Carrefour and a couple of really nice boulangeries.

Hi Sally, thank you, and we had it done near Cholet, we just didn’t film that day as it was sooo stressful, but if you look on Facebook there is a page, ABC I think and they have loads of vets all over France that are recommended

Hi there! International rescue here..a croque monsieur is a ham and cheese toasted sandwich, usually dry and horrible. A Croque Madame is the same with a fried egg on top. To be avoided as most come out of a ready made package, except the egg, a bit dry and boring unless hand made by a chef/restaurant. Jo in France 🇫🇷

Like i said we love Calais, had many happy times in the cafe de paris, with friends on the bikes en route to assen to see motogp, dont believe all the negative news, all the migrants are over further west on the coast, we have never had a problem there, inly great memories. 😊

Calais beach front is very similar to Dover Marina. There were people on local Facebook pages who saw the smoke from this side of the channel

Was going to say did you have to get jabs done for Mavis within a certain timescale before you leave France? Did you find the procedure straightforward? Lynn you look lovely in pink. Thanks for interesting holiday vlogs.
Oh ok, and yes, there is a time frame to get the wormer done, I think it’s no later than 5 days before crossing back.
It’s simple, just need to make sure the vet knows what to fill out, there is a Facebook page, AHC, that covers everything and is really useful m.

Love Calais, stayed at the holiday inn many times & dined at the cafe de Paris, not sure if would stay in the motorhome though, not because of safety reasons, just so many nice places within half an hour, Guines is our stop over place when coming home. No migrants in calais now, they are all down the west coast quite far from Calais. Will watch vlog later, with a beer 🍺
@ the place itself is very nice mate it’s the crime rate that’s the issue. It’s through the roof and I have three friends who have had attempts or have been broken into. I would never stay there in its current condition.

I remember walking past a couple & the guy smelt very nice, so I walked back & shouted excuse me but you smell good to him & asked her what it was 😂😂 I did apologize for being weird 😂but they was all good about it, 😂 doesn't look too bad there it's just the rumours you hear 🙉 but no food places open 😮 shocking 😅 I always miss the kids/grandkids when I go away & my personal space 😅 yes bloody men, even their breathing pi🤬 you off 😂😂😂 I could be joking 😅 but Nahhh I'm not 😂.. did you stop in the van while in that ferry?
