I followed well after watching twice; I did this on my MIL and she loved it. I can't believe it came out so perfect. I gave her some whispps, couldn't tell her nothing. Now she wants a date night with my FIL. Great video.

Gorgeous classic done and taught to perfection! Thank you for bringing back memories of my Mom when I was a child in the 1960’s. I loved her wearing her hair like this. Where were you when I was trying to do this for the 4th of july? Lol. I was wearing a vintage pinafore dress, and wanted an up-do, and I struggled SO HARD. Lol. I ended up having the whole bag of bobby pins in mah head, and it looked terrible! Lol.
I'm gonna give your version a go when I take out these faux locs

I wish more people would shown the proper use and placement of Bobby Pins. It sounds so simple but there has to be a method for the madness. This was pretty good but it would be nice to break it down even further.
The french roll has always been my fav!!! I want to wear it again, but my own current hair situation doesn't easily allow it. Now, you've shown it is possible even for me. I love these vintage styles. This also reminds me of one of those 90’s Mass Choir hairstyles.
A crimping iron works wonders if you don't want to stuff nor tease. The amount of volume and grip it gave me when I did a chignon like that was just mind blowing.
Another old style was very pretty hair combed up and curls on top very sophisticated style with outfits a polished look

I am OBSESSED with french rolls! This looks amazing, and so helpful to know better how to place pins.
With longer hair, the rolling becomes more difficult, especially doing it on myself. Usually end up with a bunch of hair at the top I have to sort of moosh and tuck in to hide. It never looks this good! :D

It’s been a while since I graduated Cosmetology School. 1983! I want to tell you that I appreciate you creating this video to re-teach me, if you will, how to do a lovely, true French Twist. You are a skilled stylist no doubt. Thank you for crating and sharing. Now, I want to do this on myself. My hair is just below bra strap and it is wonderful, but very THICK hair. I am going to try your tips and tricks and see if I can make my own hair look as good as you styled this mannequin.
Agreed! I got my license in 1996 and recently got back behind the chair after a 17 year stint in the fashion industry. I so appreciate your tutorial of the way I learned how to do it in beauty school. I tried to watch other videos on a modern version, but I love the classic way the best so thank you for the refresher! You’re fab! ❤️
Finally a tutorial that includes teasing! I went to a salon in Florida and no one knew what to do with my fine hair without extensions. Finally the manager had to take over and did an uneven teased out bun for a high end wedding. I have another wedding in November and I would like this French roll or a French twist done. I am so glad I found this!

AlabasterClay you can do all sorts of things with them, this is a classic French roll, but you can do all sorts of modifications.

Beautiful French roll. Much closer to the French roll my mother used to wear back in the 60s. Now so many tutorials show you how to twist the hair up and then pin it. I much prefer this classic look.
