Yes you were right about the rain representing her struggles and hardships. Actually Wendy had a terrible accident Dec. 2019, in which she fell 2.5 meters unto a stage while rehearsing for a special stage due to staff's negligence, causing her to fracture multiple bones including her right pelvis, right wrist, her jaw and nose, and also cracked her right cheekbone. Because of this, she couldn't participate in Red Velvet's concert in Japan and other performances as she spent over 2 months in the hospital and the rest of 2020 healing and receiving physio. She has successfully healed and is healthy now, and came out with her debut album "Like Water". So "When This Rain Stops" is a song that thanks her fans for sending her lots of love and being supportive while she was recovering hence the lyrics "i heard many voices who waited only for me" and also Wendy telling herself that it will soon pass and it will be ok, she can still catch up, hence the lyrics "to the distance that i fell behind briefly, i can just run for the distance made, to make myself heard again" and "breathe again". also When this rain stops sounds like "Wendy's rain stops", meaning that her time of pain and hardship is over now so she can smile again.

Wendy is currently the only girl in Kpop at the moment with a full 4 octave range. Her range and vocals is absolutely untouchable, no matter what group you put her, the main vocalist position will eventually be the one coming to her. She was born for that position.
No, Eunji of Apink also has 4 octaves, actually they both have 4 octaves and 1 note, the widest range in all of Kpop
There's a lot of idol who had 4 octave range... there's a lot of idol who can sing high note, but every professional music director, music critics, vocal trainers acknowledged wendy is the most technical idol in term of singing... her technique placed her on ranked 1 in all gen 3 main vocalist choose by all professional musician and music critics..

I love the way you just let yourself enjoy her singing and waited until each part ended before you gave your opinion. Although I have listened to this song many times, i still wanna hear it more and more. Even in the reaction video, i wanna enjoy her singing instead of the pause every 5secs like other reaction video. I am very happy to see you enjoy listening her song too.
