What a wonderful movie. Brought back memories of good movies that didn't have sex, foul language, nudity and killing in them. In those days the writers had to actually think and use their wholesome imagination to create anything except blood and guts movies.

Good movie, written as if it were a pilot movie that had been destine to become a TV series.
Perfect story that could easily made into one hour shows, with endless opportunities.
I love the freedom these boys had. This was just like when my two sons, now 42 and 45, grew up. They spent their days playing out doors, riding their bikes and enjoying their freedom. As long as they were home by meal time they were fine. No cell pones, no video games just freedom to be boy and be outside.
I remember those days too as a child, I never wanted to go inside. Always outside using my imagination

Did you ever think this is why small towns still exist? I really hate the large populations, 5000 or less is what is ideal. Problem with the small towns is there is not a good food supply so people end up driving to the city to buy foods.

This would STILL make a great series! I loved it! No nudity, no bad language, no violence and yet still QUITE entertaining! I just don't LIKE seeing naked people cussing in a movie, or those packed with violence. I believe half our social ills stem from having watched too much of that kinda thing. It's not bad but it's certainly NOT good either.

Good idea, they really could have made it into a series. There are a lot of points to explore the way people behave in certain situations while he is still looking for his mother and even beyond.

I enjoyed this Christmas movie l was in state care locked behind bars never got to celebrate Christmas or any other special event l thought santa forgot me and l was 5 years old l was put in Vaughan House Enfield until l was 18 the point is l have my family and christmas is a big deal to me l love celebrating Christmas with my family and l have to Grandaughter s so you see its what's in your heart that count and make a change in life l said this when l was 6 years old in lock up so this movie very special and l loved it thankyou

Yes this was going to be series but it didn't get the ratings so it died with the first pilot. There used to be a cable channel called TRIO that showed pilots that failed.

Wow what a blast from the past. The music, the bicycles, the slang. Man I feel OLD.
I always wanted one of those bikes and my Dad just refused. He said they weren't safe so he got me a 10 speed instead. It was too big for me and not what Iwanted but i grew to like it and love riding. Still every single time i see those banana seats it hurts inside.
A lovely story of hope and being unique. People are fearful about other humans that are different. A nice approach to tell such accourrence. This actor is so beautiful to portrayed such character Michael Grant...
This was a very top 10 movie. It's worth watching over and over again. Thank you who ever you are that put this movie on here to be watched.

Just finished watching this excellent little movie.
Ran through it twice as I missed some parts in the first watch.
It was so refreshing to watch a movie that excluded all the violence that now pervades most of the movies on offer.
Took me back to a time in the 1970s where this type of clean movie was the norm.
Left me feeling relaxed and reflective.
My thanks to its writer and producers.
1970 Amerikan movies were extremly violent in comparison to German ones. Germany has by now managed to catch up.

Oh wow I watched this when it broadcast! So much fun! It is a shame that movies like this are not made anymore. Movies I can watch with my kids that are not insipid dumbed down or animated
I can't remember having seen a more uplifting movie. Thank you for it...
I, too, remember the days when I was free to come and go as my curiosity and desire for another adventure would lead me out the front door. Just a few basic rules, be home by dark, shower before bedtime, up and dressed in time for school or church, always make sure your chores were done...and the rest we just made up as we went along. At the age of only 7 or 8, we would ride our sting ray bikes several miles down along the freeway frontage road to a couple of ponds and fish and raft for hours in the warm, summer sun. Now that I am in my 60's, I have pretty much held on to those free-range impulses of making up my life as I felt. But society, in general, has always inflicted certain prescribed penalties for the free spirited, rebellious souls, who refuse to bow down to authority figures...just because that's what they demanded. Pooy The school of trial and error, along with all of the bruises and scrapes and failures in life, has always been the directing force guiding my life. Been in the logging industry for 12 years, contractor for 30+ years, holistic, regenerative gardening for nutrient-dense based, food production.
Well heck, a good description of much of my life too. Feel sorry for so many kids today spending so much time in front of a computer screen or glued to their " smart " phones missing out on real life.
Gosh how the heck can 2.2k people give a thumbs down! This was one of the best movies i've seen on utube. Brilliantly played by everyone and i thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done Mart11z x

Such a sweet movie. Doesn't even look like a tv movie, with a great story, interesting flashback editing, great actors and fancy characters, even a pleasant score, a hopefull open end... and a cool protagonist! I wish there would be part 2! And part 3... actually one for each stop!

It's called Highway To Heaven starring Michael Landon.
I was just being silly..... Highway to Heaven was on loooong before this show. This is actually a pilot for a new tv series in mid '80s that never took off. . Shame too, i would have watched it for sure.
Check out Psychic Reverend Donna Seraphina, she's the real thing.

Damn good movie, finally a movie without swearing, shooting, drugs nudity. Very rare now days and very refreshing. I only wish it was longer and he found his mother. This must have been an old TV series but I don't remember it!

Incredible movie, but just as others have said, I wish we had a sequel. Or that it was a series. Great storyline and acting. And I think it was a prerequisite that every movie made in the 80s had to have a car chase scene. 😊

I enjoyed this movie. Thank you for sharing this movie on RUclips. I do believe some people do have a gift . I don't know anyone who has the gift like this. In my life, I have felt that something was happening or going to happen and it did . PS I remember when I could run the roads as a child ride my bicycle all day. My little sister Bon Bon and friend would put on plays on the dock at Cone Mills it was our stage. We had a great time. Then, I went to the country to see my cousin playing outside all day. I miss those days. I lived in the country when my little girl was young so she did get to play outside and have fun. I wish my grandson Levi could play outside like that. Now days we are afraid for them to step outside our front door in the font yard. 😢
are there sequels? would have loved to see more journeys michael looking for mom, those scientists looking for him and his finding illnesses in people that were caught in time before death or other great tradegies befell. in other words, loved this movie and thanks

Most people don't know about the late 70's. It would be impossible to me to write it, but from 69-76, the movies that were put out were so unbelievably disturbing..... (designed for vets with PTSD) plus, they took the time that people believed that they were fighting against the system, and infiltrated it by using 'movements' like seems lib and the sexual revolution, and ended up using it ..... for ..... the system and the movies they made are designed to reinforce the 'culture' a word which really means social engineering .........

It's clearly obvious now, since the truths exposed, integrating openly into culture, breaking down the family unit to use healthcare as a smokescreen for their entry way (which they couldn't achieve in the late 70's to seize our guns); people don't want to hear about it......, because it doesn't affect them. Meanwhile, millions pay & support evil org.'s highly involved in Satanism/Trafficking like Net-flicks, G00-GAL products Amazon.....etc.
I’m impressed with the little boy playing Michael. What a smart little boy he is being able to show those emotions at the right time and say his lines the way he did. He is a very good little actor for his age. Very impressed.
