Smolders were already ticking every 0.5s since a long time (since they reverted FT back from 1s to 0.5s at least). They only updated tooltip now after a year :)
Eso vet whos new to NW here (commenting on things I’ve observed between the games: Diary of The Rambling Mer turned Musketeer). One of the main differences I’ve noticed is how your character is buffed. In NW it seems buffs are activated primarily through active combat, while in ESO there’s a lot of self-buffing through ability casting. Rapier strikes remind me of templar jabs, that detonate ability for fire staff loosely reminds me of proxy detonation. As a console player I’m really enjoying the game, currently working on getting artifacts & good armor now. I think AGS has done an incredible job with NW.
As a melee player, I get absolutely deleted by firestaves and try my best to avoid them. Even taking cover after a hit from firestaff has you burning and quickly dying. Flamethrower feels like it does so much damage that I can't even trade melee hits with it
Been watching you since the beta of OG New World. Fell in love with that fire staff/rapier build from the beginning. Sadly my age is catching up to me so I tend to play a tank/support while my younger brothers clean up the kills lol. Still, love watching your vids. Hopefully I'll be able to invest in some fire staff gear in the future on this fresh start. For now, I war with SnS/IG.
Yup a light int/dex set up is my next set. I got featherweight yesterday. Also had one of the best outnumbered fights since I started playing this game last night. Was like a 6v12 and we rolled was so much fun. Going to try and run my PvP track up today to hopefully get the tumbler boots.
Switched to this build but left my rapier the same as pve (tando, flurry, flourish) and I’m murdering in arena. Honestly firestaff is nice juice and makes melee feel confident enough to get in melee range. The they get the rapier.
Ideally this build would be inferno + a nice juicy rapier.. but since most people like me missed inferno during the first week I had to go finisher. This is a great build still, but the big reason for the gear choices is the limitations of the fresh start servers access to stuff
He said it at the begining the dot have been increase so yaih he kill it with the rapier but the dot help with the massive dot damage ! Look at the fire number not the character 😂
Yo quick tip you can farm a easy bis fire staff rn with the event nightveil fire staff seen people tryna sell it for crazy prices but sure if your arcana leveled up an you open the purple weapon boxes easy farm

ngl, im getting absolutely bullied with this build in OPR atm. i'm barely doing over 1.5k a heavy and im just getting one or two shotted by the fast majority of melee abilities so I ain't even getting the opportunity to even use a incinerate.
There's an absurd amount of absolutely busted issues with this update/re-release. As a new console player, I'm glad there's alot of base game to explore and learn, before subjecting myself to this meta slave pvp nonsense. Busted gear, busted weapon passives, buffs on already strong things....
I've been playing New World since the beta and trust me, the bugs, glitches, overpowered weapons, and randomness of things breaking when updates are released are completely normal. Welcome to New World! 🤣

There's just and absurd amount of cheese rn. I've followed the game, as a console player on RUclips for years, and haven't seen it this bad (from the sidelines obviously) but regardless, I'm still extremely grateful to be playing and enjoying it 😀

about a year ago, fire staff is the stupidest and most ridiculous thing in the game. The one-handed devs and players don't want to understand it. What can be fun about something that is so consecratedly broken? Let the stupidity continue at a cheap fair price...
Yeah man I'm sick of riposte. When you compare it to the stun on a spear it's actually awful. Why does spear's stun come out lightning fast, on an 8 second cooldown? Where riposte takes skill to activate and can easily be dodged or blocked? It's actually so lame.
I quit playing ESO a few years ago. I tried New World at launch and really enjoyed it, but then the pvp died off. You're making me really want to try it again but I'm afraid that I'll be way behind now.
@voidsff that's long enough to have to level up alone in each zone. Then get to max level and be several weeks behind in gear which will make it harder to catch up. I'm an old an with a family and a job. Mmos are fun but they're not my life, so unfortunately i move slowly.
@@SinnfullDuck I wouldnt worry too much about it to be honest that seems like most of the playerbase. Sure itll take some time to reach 65 but not forever, the beauty of this game is the journey imo and the endgame is the reward you get for trekking through it. Fun game regardless of what level or where you are progression wise
i'm enjoying firestaff a lot, i also took the perk that lowers heavy damage by 20% but makes it splash to test it but it's great, just aim at the ground like playing with a rocket launcher and you can poke and bully people using cover. Not 100% sure on rapier yet, it's amazing but i can't decide on whether to use riposte, the flurry attack or flourish. Trying flurry right now but then i seem to miss riposte but it might just take some getting used to. Using Firestaff/Blunderbuss, i see potential but it's not as "fun" as having a melee weapon as well Looking forward to trying out Abyss Firestaff/Greataxe myself, hoping i'll enjoy it. I still use pillar of fire though because it has long range, is Inferno that much more interesting? I have no problems using pillar in melee range, it's really fast.
@BwuceGames rapier is nice especially for 1v1 but I just prefer abyss. Firestaff blunderbuss is coming up in the meta though, I definitely want to try it if I can get pestilence. Inferno hasn't been available yet I'm still waiting to test it, I would go inferno rapier then.

The biggest weakness of hatchet users is overconfidence. I love it when I see someone go berserk and charge in like a madman, thinking they're going to win the fight. If you have good spacing and know how to dodge, hatchet users are nothing.
Try running more con. And you have to run away a lot, use burnout preemptively, if you're running rapier you have extra mobility, or abyss axe you can use charge for mobiligy
Why is no one talking about how unplayable and buggy this is? It feels worse then the beta 4 years ago? Every old bug is back plus new ones. And everyone is just pretending its running smooth when its worse then ever. I dont get it. Ags lived up to their reputation once again. I dont under stabd how they havent been fired yet. Blows my mind

Spot on, there's a Heartrune called detonate and it has similar mechanics to proxy detonation from Eso. Always made feel like a nb bomber in NW.

Great Axe has a skill called execute with the same animation from 2h in eso. Xbox NA eso player here lol

Both are great? But for fresh start the additional healing tumblers give are a huge deal for people missing shirking heals!

Every kill you got in this vid was from raipier brust dmg using flurry, you only used your FS for utility and range poke..

When you say Invulnerability with Flurry you mean Grit for stagger? Or am I missing something that gives flurry an actual invuln from dmg?

they just changed healing breeze to be less effective on self. its only for healers now.
You should figure out a way to get rapier bleed w/o putting keenly on finisher. The new DOT perk for weapons is too good to give up.

Hmm.. you have like 40 more attribute points than I do at 65 700 gear score it’s been a while since I’ve played is it from house item perks? Confused
Are you meaning invulnerable or immunity on rapier? Invul means you cant take any dmg at all immun means you cant be cced..
If it hasn’t been changed Flurry was an actual I-Frame if it hasn’t been changed then it is actually invulnerable

tumbler feetwraps , attuned or featherweight ? or could all 3 work
I asked the same question to many different creators and most of them said : Featherweight for light builds and Tumblers for medium builds
Attuned works just fine. I personally prefer it of the three. The build variety with Attuned is much stronger.

Abyss firestaff is great. Standard build with maelstrom does 6k (hits twice for 3k each) and if you run execute you can hit 6k-9k+

Block really counters hatchet as well. Most people using it are crutching.

You should consider putting Vicious over KJ on rapier.
Also Purifying toast offers way more value than regenerating.
I used disdained and it kicks, but I also use tando and idk why no one else does
