oh mr. schonberg...you are truly a musical genius...not having Now That I've Seen Her will be strange, but thank you for making its replacement just as beautiful
Rachelle is truly a classy and talented performer! She is liked by most of the people who really know something about music. She may not be the most famous local singer in her generation but she has the most number of talents alongside Julie Anne San Jose! They both sing great but Rachelle is a tad better in that category, they both dance more than good, they both play musical instruments like guitar, drums, piano and they both act. I hope when Rachelle returns from London she'd get the recognition here in our country that she deserved since day 1. It has always been the other girl under the same management that is being given the attention. Hope that Viva realizes what they have or let Rachelle go her own way and be with some other classy management like Warner for example... God bless miss Rachelle Ann Go!
Lovely rendition. Tamsin Carroll was amazing on stage though, too. Can't decide whether I prefer this to Now That I've seen Her, but either way, it's a great song and makes Ellen's character softer.
I really didn't like Tamsin. I thought her upper-range was weak. And she looked like Chris' mother rather than his wife.... "Now That ..." was such a powerful number & a favourite of mine, I felt that this new song was so dreary that the shiow came to a halt just as it was gaining momentum & it makes Ellen appear quite weak as opposed to her character before when she had to be strong to face the situation.
I can't wait to get the 2014 cast recording. Tamsin's ending is different from the way Rachelle ended if I remembered right. I am now wondering if Rachelle can play the role of Ellen. I would find it more plausible if Chris went with someone who bears Kim's features. And Rachelle can play Ellen. However I do adore Tamsin as well. :)
***** I agree with everything you said, i was not a fan of Tamsin, she did grow on me in act 2, but now enough as she should of. She failed in "I believe", and out of show context i adore this song.
As much as I love Her or Me/ Now that I've Seen Her, I MUCH prefer Maybe. However, I prefer the lyrics that Stephanie J. Block sang. They just can't make their mind up about this song!...
I hate this song. In the new show, they have cut the fantastic "317 recitative" as well as "Now That I've Seen Her". It was such a strong powerful song that showed Ellen being strong havingto face the situation.. "Maybe" is SO dreary & really slows the show down just as it's gaining momentum. (my opinion).
That's the question that went through my mind. Wouldn't Chris go with someone with Ellen's features?! Rachelle has the voice and range to bring back Claire Moore's tour de force Ellen interpretation! I would be interested in her interpretation of Ellen!
This is infinitely better than Tasmin Carroll. Ellen is soft, young, naive yet somehow equally grounded. Her voice here displays that so much more than Carroll ever could. My only critique is that she is a bit too showy and poppy here. Though fine for this performance it would be distracting in an actual production.
Can someone pleeeeeease give me the lyrics to this version? This has so many different words to the one easily found online... I've been trying to decipher what she's trying to say but the sound isn't really helping at all :(
No. She sings it on her own instead of "Now That I've Seen Her". I don't like it at all & it makes Ellen to be weak, as opposed to the strong woman having to face the situation.
bootsamou I saw the opening of the Broadway revival last night and the way Katie Rose Clarke sings this song does not make Ellen look weak at all. Shes hurt and confused and ultimately wants what's best for Chris. I took it as her wanting to let him go because she thinks chris still loves Kim like Kim loves chris. Seeing how Kim felt so strongly for him shocked her especially since she didn't even know of the girl until then. I quite like this song and I loved Katie's interpretation of it. (Of course that's just my opinion)
Help me, am I fooling myself if I've already lost you nothing's changed, you're still mine we can try to ignore this but if she has come back in your life well then maybe you were never mine and yet my heart cries maybe it's a trick, it's a lie She's just trying to use you but I looked in her eyes it could kill her to lose you and maybe, just maybe you need her too back when we met you were broken and wild and i held you at night and I ached when you cried but despite what we lacked we tried staying on track no regret yet, maybe it was fate that suddenly brought her back to you and your love was true love before I even knew you if the life and your dreams is the life she is giving should i be the one to stop your dream from living if you're hers then be hers then forget about me now I've blind for so long but perhaps I can see now and maybe just maybe I'll find the strength I need set you free now I'll be strong I'll stand firm so my tears won't betray me but my heart might just break if what may be maybe this is current show's lyrics of the song. hope this one helps.. :)
what i love about rachelle is her artistry and originality when tackling songs. She has her own style and her voice is beautiful.
The West End is so fortunate to have this gem! I am a big fan now! :)

Rachelle 😍😍😍
the first note she sings is so ethereal. it almost doesn't sound human
This is beautiful.
PLS RECORD THIS SONGGGGGGG
BEST VERSION !
Can anyone provide the lyrics to this version? I love Rachelle's Ann version of maybe. There's a lot of versions online.
love it!!

I wonder if she end up covering Ellen part in Miss Saigon in London.

I find her version of Maybe more powerful and emotional than Tasmin's! Hoping she gets recast to tackle the roles of either Kim or Ellen :)

Thanks. Though this is good I like It's Her or Me more.
Me too. I prefer it's her or me. I sometimes find this song hard to listen because it's wordy... Lol
What a beautiful song and rendition. Who sang this originally? Thanks for sharing.
No-one sang it originally. It is the new song that has been written for the new Miss Saigon show.

Anyone have lyrics for this? I can’t seem to make out all of them from this video

you can check out the miss saigon revival 2014 lyrics online but this is a rough draft of "maybe"
Wow, I wonder if Ellen will be singing this song directly to Chris in the new show? That would be a big change.
No. She sings it on her own instead of "Now That I've Seen Her".
I don't like it at all & it makes Ellen to be weak, as opposed to the strong woman having to face the situation.

what are the lyrics? i cant find it online ??
It's not available yet.
Help me,
am I fooling myself
if I've already lost you
nothing's changed,
you're still mine
we can try to ignore this
but if she has come back in your life
well then maybe
you were never mine
and yet my heart cries maybe
it's a trick, it's a lie
She's just trying to use you
but I looked in her eyes
it could kill her to lose you
and maybe, just maybe
you need her too
back when we met
you were broken and wild
and i held you at night
and I ached when you cried
but despite what we lacked
we tried staying on track
no regret
yet, maybe
it was fate that suddenly brought her back to you
and your love was true love
before I even knew you
if the life and your dreams
is the life she is giving
should i be the one to stop your dream from living
if you're hers then be hers
then forget about me now
I've blind for so long
but perhaps I can see now
and maybe just maybe I'll find the strength I need set you free now
I'll be strong I'll stand firm
so my tears won't betray me
but my heart might just break
if what may be maybe
this is current show's lyrics of the song. hope this one helps.. :)
I believe this is a rough draft of "maybe". Apparently they re wrote this a dozen times
Stop recording from a cell phone...the quality is an insult to the song.
