Great vlog, as a Sheffield United fan it was enjoyable watching an unbiased fan there to support their team and enjoy the game. Fair assessment throughout and well done for being there to watch your team in the cold and rain.
As a Blade I reckon that a lot of people can justifiably say the pen was a harsh decision. VAR is now a lottery in the sense that the decision either goes for you or against you. Great to see a good unbiased vlog and good luck to the Wolves for the rest of the season.
👍 uk really is some rainy spot on World map😉surrounding major oceans , for me Wolves losing fair and square ,missing Neto is sadly Huge impact wolves offensive play ! COYW
Thanks for the content. You wouldn't believe how many Blades were surprised at getting a 50/50 decision go our way. I don't think it was all that controversial, the ref made the penalty decision, there definitely was contact, and VAR unusually stuck to the rule they have (but often forget if you're playing against a top 6 team), there wasn't enough evidence to overturn the referee's initial decision. Good luck for the rest of the season.
if there was contact i cant see it watched numerous angles. wasnt a pen but hey thats happned to us now so many times and the ref wanted a dramatic ending and he got it. all the best to you guys too
Definitely was a pen I can only surmise these aren't usually given against Wolves but they are definitely given against most other bottom half clubs. Only reason anybody other than the 2 clubs involved are talking about it was it was given for Sheff U who have made the worst start to a Prem season any club has made.
Hiya Dave 👍🏻 Great vlog as per usual 😀 Wolves had a few chances, but they were trying to walk the ball into the net! Wolves didn't take any of their chances, and that's the same old story! You have to hand it to Sheffield United, they scored a really great goal! Our equaliser was just as fantastic! All of the MOTD pundits said it was never a penalty, so Wolves are here again, with the terrible decisions! I just don't know 😕 Always Wolves 🐺
Drove up from Berkshire with two others for the game . Thought our support was quite subdued may be it was the weather. Don't think the long VAR review in 93rd min helped us. We are due some VAR luck soon .
I was sat by you soaked all game , terrible day. Silva can’t play for wolves again , he not a prem player and not mature enough for ingame management. Great vlog
It continued in Newcastle! Clear free kick to Arsenal, pushing him away with two hands in the back. Why could VAR not see that? And why do the referees not go to take a look at the screen? Horrible!
Hi Dave, I watched the whole game on a stream. Firstly let’s get the performance out of the way. The conditions were awful, but that’s the same for both sides but it leads to a lottery. I don’t think many were surprised by the starting line up. Folks were calling for Doyle to start and some for Sasa. The first half performance wasn’t as bad as some are making out. We could easily have been at least three up against a very poor Sheffield United. So that in itself indicates we were getting into good positions. The problem was poor final decision making and a lack of composure. At HT I was confident we’d go on to win. However the first 15 minutes were very different. Their coach changed things, firstly by stopping our attacks down our right side and secondly by pressing more. Even though they dominated those minutes there was still no real threat on our goal. We’d appeared to have weathered the storm only for a fortunate ricochet leading to the striker free on goal, he then hits worldly of a strike. I still thought we’d get something out of the game and the introduction of Bellegarde seemed to have done the trick. I even thought we could still win it. Then the debacle of the penalty……I’ll put another post on that.
The standard n quality of the EPL referees/VAR has dtopped tremendously for this season. There were numerous games the referee/VAR screwed up big time even for other teams besides wolves. Think the FA, Referee commitee/association n all team managers should meet to sort out this mess or perhaps to implement certain measures to stamp out those errant referees
great vlog again Dave , it's a pity that the refs can't be as good when in the VAR chair , we had our chances mate and Sheffield Utd took theirs when it came along , albeit by THE VARMAN ,hope you have all dried out by now mate
Dave one thing I will say is there is a lot of grief being given to Fabio, but that’s wrong, as it wasn’t a penalty. Don’t get me wrong,I think we should cut our losses and sell him in January, and buy a good centre forward. Very poor second half, but a draw would have been a fair result.🐺
From a blade, great blog and respectful to us,I hope you stuff spurs next week and their vile “plastic “fans, either way you will be getting abused on here by them😩👍⚔️.
Should have been 2-0 up at least first half, we went back to being too scared to shoot like earlier in the season. Never a penalty, even Sheff utd fans admitted it but they will take it of course but again 4 VAR/ ref decisions that have cost us 6 points this season based on penalty decisions. But on that display second half you could argue we deserved nothing anyway. Looks like we may have found our Huddersfield Town of this season.....Congrats to sheff united on a vital win but should never have been one.
My conspiracy theory. We all know now that there have been five VAR incidents against us in eleven games. The problem is not VAR because the technology is there. It’s the analysis by human beings who appear to be incompetent. They are just referees who were probably just has incompetent when refereeing. This nonsense of overruling a clear and obvious mistake is ridiculous. VAR was introduced to get the CORRECT decision made. The on field ref doesn’t have access to the TV when making decisions and can always make mistakes. So when every commentator is saying it wasn’t a penalty why are the VAR people saying there’s not enough evidence to overturn. It’s like an old boys club where they stick together. I know contentious VAR decisions aren’t exclusive to Wolves. Look at the Arsenal debacle later on, and also the Liverpool incident a few weeks ago. However this is where I think my conspiracy theory comes into play. Five times now this season. Every season there’s a darling of the media that gets promoted and appear to be breath of fresh air. When we came up it was us under Nuno for a couple of years. Then Sheffield United previously, then Leeds, then Brentford etc etc. However when the status quo gets threatened the media etc start to turn. It’s not just this season that the VAR decisions have gone against us, last year was the same. The argument for giving the penalty yesterday was that there was contact between Silva and the guy. As GON pointed out if there was any it was minimal between Silva’s shin pad and the player’s calf and he clearly dived. If a foul was given for that there would be hundreds every game. However using that logic, why wasn’t the penalty given for the lash out against Cunha when there was minimal contact. I don’t if it’s an agenda against Wolves because of the Chinese ownership or some other reason. Not only these on the pitch decisions but also other things. We clearly got wind of FFP punishment coming our way, hence the net positive transfer pot of £80 million. Then there was the fines because of the idiots chanting homophobic bile towards the Chelsea fans. We were fined by the FA but exactly the same went on at Fulham, Liverpool , Manchester City and United but no punishment. I this is not a conspiracy I don’t know what is. I’ll start thinking the Earth is flat and Covid never happened next.😅
I'm a blade mate and I'm with you. Some of the decisions that have gone against us or just 'under the rug' are mind blowing. I have been told by someone in ties with the club that PGMOL are funded by sky sports (hence they get all the refs on sky). From what I've seen, the decisions protecting the big boys aren't such a coincidence as obviously the big clubs will generate more revenue so perhaps they give them the benefit of the doubt rather than clubs like ours who are 'smaller'
@@MeMyselfOhare also mate, when VAR was first introduced there was a table going around showing who were affected the most in a negative way. Your team was top (or bottom whichever way you look at it) followed by Wolves, then the rest of the unfashionable teams. Wolves fans always remember the goal you scored against Villa when unbelievably the ref's watch wasn't working. Why didn't they look at the TV then where it was obvious. Villa would have been relegated if that goal had stood.
@@brian-southampton exactly, even this season. How on earth Newcastle have been given every single decision? Even if there isn't a 'bias' towards these clubs in a sense, the referees definitely give the big boys the benefit of the doubt more often. Or us against Spurs when they added 12 minutes but Arsenal were beating Everton the next day and they only added 4, even though the ball was out of play for a similar amount time. No one really takes notice though because neither of us are 'the big boys'
The guy who Silva “fouled” was Baldock who was booked in the first half. In the second half he blatantly trips Sasa in front of the ref. Dawson and Sasa politely inquire if he’s going to book him for that. He just looks at them sheepishly, no thought of chastising them for asking for a booking. Now this guy, Robert Jones, was the same guy who gave Lemina a second yellow against Villa for a shirt tug. So in his mind tugging someone’s shirt to stop a player’s progress is worse than physical contact which brings the player down and could have led to an injury. The commentators I was listening to both said it was a booking but I think they had forgotten he was already on a yellow. So the guy shouldn’t even been on the pitch. I’m not a conspiracy theorist but I’m starting to think there’s an agenda against Wolves……I’ll continue that later
@@garethkay8928 so why wasn’t the contact on Cunha given when the guy lashed out at him. It was minimum contact but contact nevertheless. That is the inconsistency of the VAR analysts, ie the human element. This BS that it has to be a clear and obvious mistake is rubbish, the CORRECT decision is what is required. I actually don’t think the Cunha incident was a penalty, but neither was the Silva one. Consistency is what we require. Anyway there’s lots of talk about AI at the moment, in a few years time they will be testing this as a way to referee football games. I’d like to bet that most football fans will not shed any tears if these people find themselves out of work.
@@garethkay8928 Also to debunk your comment about any contact in the box is a penalty. If you saw the Villa game today in the second half when the Forest keeper went down, whilst he was being treated VAR looked at a possible penalty for Villa, the Forest defender actually whacked the Villa guy in his body. Far more blatant contact than yesterday. The decision? No penalty. It’s the lack of consistency that is the problem.
