When I first watched this video 2 months ago it blew my mind like how did she do that, today 2 months later I've learned it too. Dedication and practice is everything people.
Just got my first order of henna cones from you in today's mail delivery about 10 mins ago. It'll be my very first time even holding a henna cone in my hand....so this video couldn't have been timed any better! Can't wait to get started
omgosh yay!!! I am so happy to hear that and I cant wait to see what you will create! A word of advice, don't get discouraged in the beginning if it doesn't turn out how you want! I would say it took me a few months of steady practice before I started feeling like I was getting the hang of it. But I didn't do drills like these in the beginning either, I kept trying to create masterpieces from the start and honestly I wish I would have done drills like this I would have saved myself a lot of trial and error!
@@GopiHenna I kept one cone out to "sacrifice to the cause" and the others I put in the freezer as you suggest. My plan is to play and practice holding and doing the drills with the first cone. After I have gone thru that cone, I will switch to doing the practice drills with just a pencil until I get better with the basic shapes and muscle memory...then I'll pull out another cone from the freezer. I used to be pretty good at drawing. But it's been decades since I've sat down to draw, and heaven knows that there'll a huge difference between working with the two different mediums...but hey, gotta start somewhere. I have admired the beautiful henna artwork that you, and others, have been so gracious as to share with all us viewers...and who knows, maybe one day I'll be able to achieve something a fraction as good. 😉 here's hoping anyway
@@1wascallywabbit That sounds like a perfect plan! I was encouraged by you trying to make a “accidental” curl. You have such muscle memory, it was hard for you to make a mistake! lol That means I’ll be able to make good ones soon!
Wonderful being able to see how you hold the cone - most videos don't show that - little things like that are great for us beginners :-) Very helpful video, thank you!

Hey girl u comment is like 7 month ago. I am taking 7 month to learn everything to do with henna to be able to make a living out of it. How far have u gone? Did u master it? Plz let me know. Thanks
Hi. Thank you so much for this educational video on Henna drills for beginners. I wanted a video to show me how to do henna at home for myself. Stay safe.
Are you using special paper for henna designs? Im watching this before work. Very relaxing to watch. L❤ve your work. I bet I will squeeze the henna pouch too quickly. You do it with little effort.
Thank you for your tutorials, i find you really good at explaining your techniques very well, so i subscribed. I am going to look at some more. Also, is there a brand of henna that is best to work with. I was going to get it from wish but changed my mind until i asked an expert.
These are great! However, my question is, how can you keep the muscle between your thumb and ring finger from hurting when you do henna? It's kind of weird, but whenever I do henna, I always get pain in that muscle.
Talar Sews Stuff do you hold it more like a pen or pencil at the tip of the cone after or do you fold it over? Not in the beginning when the cone is still full but when it starts to lose pressure
Is there anything that mimics the consistency of henna to practice with? I suppose im just having a hard time thinking about purchasing henna just to practice with 😅
@@octoberandreasbejan8931 hey! I'm not joking dear! Just it was like cheap for me trying this trick adding color to flour and using it i just suggested you ,but i was laughing for real thinking of this trick to avoid wastage of henna,,,, don't misunderstand just because i put that lol emoji in the comment🙂 ,and after trying plz reply me
I don't do mehndi with a henna or cone, I only really work with paper. But I'm trying to re teach myself how to make such designs, and even if I don't need to drape in the same way, this is still such a helpful primer. Iirc when I got into mehndi the first time, what I'd do to begin with was recreate the design in the video line for line-- not to post anywhere, but to essentially this kind of thing, to practice each element without having to create the design. This video should help me relearn without being too find new videos each and every time (though I'm sure I'll do a BIT of that, too, to remind myself of big picture design aesthetics lol)
Hi, love your videos. B/c the “beginners” usually show a pro-person doing a beautiful design in fast forward. Thanks! Q: I notice in this video you keep cleaning the tip of cone with you finger and thumb; but how are your fingers not covered in smeared henna?? lol Thanks! Lindsay
I’m brand new to henna art and I’m having trouble with my henna curling to one side when it comes out of the tube. I’m finding it really difficult to get a clean start on any line. Any tips to troubleshoot?
Do you roll your cone around a pin or do you cut it? Sometimes cutting it can cause that, if not then are you making sure to clean the tip of the cone as you work? As you work a little henna build up can accumulate so periodically cleaning the tip as you work can help. Or maybe you need slightly thinner paste so it comes out easier
@@GopiHenna I bought pre rolled cones with pins at the end, and also experimented with cutting the tip slightly bigger on one of the cones to see if that fixed the issue (it didn’t, it still wanted to curl off to the side). Based on your reply I’m wondering if the henna itself is a little on the thicker side. I may try to get a few other brands and see how much of a difference there is. I’ve been doing henna on my hair for years but never used cones so I don’t have a good reference for what the proper consistency is for body art application. Thank you so much for your reply!!
@@Lilredpoppydid you figure it out? I like to use a pin for my cones. But when I was first starting, I learned with applicator bottles instead of cones.
