I met Tyler at a Brian Setzer Christmas show in Jacksonville Fl. I recognized him and said hello. He couldn’t have been a cooler cat. He gave me 2 of Brian’s picks. Keep helping it swing Tyler…

I just went to the show in Moorhead, MN (Fargo, ND) last night. I noticed that he used his primary guitar the entire show. I didn't see one guitar swap, and he never stopped once to tune. I was thinking what a great testament to the quality of his guitar that was that he didn't need to constantly swap them out to get tuned like most rockers do. It sounded great the entire show.

I’ve heard his techs say that’s also partly down to Brian’s touch with the guitars. He plays so well that even when he looks like he’s playing rough he’s gentle on his instrument.

He swapped to the magenta for one song during the Aug 3rd gig in San Diego (can't remember which tho!) If you listen to Rocked This Town LA From to London, at the end of "I Won't Stand in Your Way", he says "I'm gonna play a fast song so I need the purple guitar".... I got my 6120 Setzer 'Smoke' signed at the show!!!!

Great video. I've been a Stray Cats fan since the early 80's and it's why I own so many Gretsch hollow body guitars today. They're fantastic players with amazing tone. Even after 40 plus years, Brian continues to be my favorite guitarist of all time.

He put on a great show and still does. Just wish my schedule worked with the timing of the recent tour. Fingers crossed for the next tour OR his show at Christmas. In the meantime, I’ll console myself with my Gretsch guitars 😍.

Great video. If you notice Brian is now playing with his cab facing away from him. Pretty sure this is due to his tinnitus. He played with it facing towards the crowd on his last solo tour which I got to see here in Feb. of 2024. I got to get really close to him, and he plays pretty loud. It was great to listen to. Even got to talk with Tyler after the show (PHX). We both hail from Massachusetts.

Very nice to see still how enthusiastic you are and how you love your job!! I am also sure you and Brian are very close friends, the one who's doing this work basically a right hand of the player. A very lucky man. 🙂👌🏻👍🏻
If I may say stg personal. I had a luck to know and met a few times with Carl Nielsen. He was Jimmy Page's guitar engineer and a close friend. I bought a Firebird (only a Tokai but she became my most beloved, most important guitar, these days she worth a pretty nice sum of money, similar to a basic Gibson.) from his shop the Rockbottom Croydon. He was working with Jimi, Marc Bolan, Bonnie Raitt, Lenny Kravitz, Brian Adams, the Status Quo and many huge names, so he is a Giant and a stadium size concert guitarist on his own right. He has the most valuabe amp-collection, hundreds of historical ones, Jimi-Marshalls, Pink Floyd's Hiwatts, Sabbath Laneys and many-many more. The point is: he has immense knowledge and overall view of everything's in this business, yet he is so humble, so nice with a level of humanity that made me respect him immensly, a godlike human being in my eyes. Also, I was broke so I paid the guitar in parts weekly, 100£ or sometimes even only just 50. Yet he let away from the price some two hundred £, also one or two week later then the actual time counted into the deal the black Friday discount! He gave me a bass guitar case (-the Firebird-size is big really) and two handful of picks for free, let me make photos with him, and every each times when I brought the weekly parts of the payment let me play on the guitar an hour before closing.Showed me many of his old photos from the big times, told me stories and everything... Somehow he knew what I am in, currently a totally broke but real, lifetime player and he came down to my poor level as some kind of a mentor. I never felt the misery that I went through that time, I was a truly happy man in his and the staff's company in the shop. These things can make a man himself again, giving back his dignity and self-respect. So Thank you guys for the incredible job you do and please forgive me this 'War and peace-long' elegy. 🙂😊. 💜👌🏻👍🏻
