Anyone who complains about the relatively high price of Taylors should watch this video. All that hand work comes at a price which, in my opinion, is worth it.
Huh. I actually missed the central message that was supposed to be communicated to me. Was it that it's being done by hand?? There's no way that's what I was supposed to take away from this tour right? Because their whole thing is modern innovation. I actually love my Taylor, but from this video, you can see the tension on full display between "we are modern, that's what sets up apart" with "we must compete with martin by showing how we to have hand crafted stuff from artisans." What a razor thin edge for messaging.
If I had a company like this I would start a side company with just affordable acoustic guitars, no pick guards because eventually we won’t want to use picks, no Inlays because original is where it’s at and just precise wood cutting machines and different bracings for a more robust sound for maybe an extra 200-300$ but no guitars over 800-900$. It won’t be about the look of the guitar because it all will come down to the player. We promote playing not collecting 💵. If want every human to have a good quality sounding guitar without having to spend so much extra money. Or maybe someone who has 50 guitars to share one with a less unfortunate person who would actually use their gifts of performing not showing off what kind of guitars they have in their Collection. We will all have 10 min of fame eventually. So work on yourself because no one will do it for you.
I like their guitars but this is hardly an "in-depth" look at the factory. It's mostly just employees moving things around the factory, maybe a few shots of employees sanding or buffing. The comedian never really asked any questions. Pathetic. As far as "no go" zones, again, give me a break. You make guitars, not pacemakers. You use the same techniques that every other guitar manufacturers uses. Taylor might be more selective in their materials but it's the same equipment world-wide.

Taylor still my favorite Acoustic, but the Guitar Cases are junk.
They're the best cases what the fuck are you talking about?
