Congrats on your newest venture!! Also, best wishes with your new baby! Praying for a safe delivery! Can’t wait to see him and your tomatoes grow!! Have a nice weekend!
I also sell plant starts and soil block. You can get little cube inserts for the 5 cell to up pot the little 20 cells in them. So when they get their first true leaves you put them in the 2 inch. It says you can only use the 4 cell but you can get 2 packs at like 4.99 to have the other one. Also I found that I can get 300 little guys in a 1020 flat and 50 2 inchers in a 1020 flat. It has helped so much on space early on. Especially because we are still getting our greenhouse up and have to do everything indoors at this new property. I have the little 20 cell soil blocker and the 4 cell as well. I am very happy with them.
You are so close to your due date! Can't wait to meet your little one. Hope to see some more vlogs soon about your animals too- is the piggy pregnant? :)
I got the 5 cell soil blocker from your Amazon store front, and also got the 4×4 soil blocker to up pot in, yes a little expensive but hopefully only a one time purchase, I found a bunch of cookie sheets at a thrift store to put them on and my husband got a tons of the big flat lunch trays from a guy at the dumpster who was going to throw them away, I was so excited lol
@@BerkeleyFarms lol I was so excited, could not believe it, there was like 40 of them!!! Could not have been happier, he was excited to have gotten them too!
Love your green house and you give such great tips! Can you do a tour of your greenhouse and where or how it was made? I’m hoping to get one built this year and am looking for ideas. Love yours! Thank you again for the ideas and suggestions. Hugs and love from Texas!
Hey, Linda! I did a video on it last year. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/B33UdFfS9P8/видео.html If you have other questions about it, just let me know :)
Hope all your tomato babies come up. The aluminum serving trays would work to I think. If they weren’t being moved a lot. Idk might be to flimsy if they need to be moved. I haven’t even started my tomatoes or peppers. 😒 it’s already getting to hot for me. Gonna need to get started super early I guess so I can be back inside by 9:30 ☺️. Love the video. Have a blessed day. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💕🍅🫑🌶👩🏻🌾
I truly wish that I had watched you prior to starting my seeds this year. I have learned so much just by watching this one video. I do believe everything that I've done is totally incorrect I have extra seeds and I'm not sure where they're to start over or to leave it as it is and see if it grows. What do you suggest? Either way I have learned my lesson and will definitely Implement what you have taught me for next year. It is definitely been a good lesson that I have learned by watching you and I appreciate the knowledge that I've gained by watching this one episode. I won't invest in the soil blocks for next year. Excellent information for us students that are learning how to plant seeds for the first time and I appreciate your time and knowledge and the fact that you're willing to share it. Thank you
Hunny I didn't know you were pregnant omg I've been gone for too long!! (been suffering up until recently since March, from a slipped disc and all I was given was strong painkillers...) congratulations!! 👏🙌💐 I haven't started my seeds yet in the uk, its always bloody wet... 😞 Xx
@@BerkeleyFarms awww and a healthy one please! 🙏❤️😍 Thanks it was the worst year in my life, no doctor wants to help and I had to force myself to work otherwise no income.. Crying in tears several times a day despite strong painkillers, I had to let my garden go.. 🥺 (my partner had to get me dressed and undressed it was that bad I couldn't bend forward) Fingers crossed for a new year, I am still careful with bending down, but I'm about to get a small allotment so more growing space! 🙌 Xx
I really enjoyed the mini blocker, but I found the larger blocks harder to make with the cube inserts then with the seed nubs. But I am loving soil blocking… and it really doesn’t take long to get the hang of it. Also, I don’t want my tomatoes over 8 weeks. Just my preference… and so it’s hard when everyone around me already has tomatoes sprouting and I don’t even plant my seeds until mid March.
I haven’t tried the cube inserts. If I’m not mistaken, that’s the insert you use if you want to up-pot a smaller soil block into a larger one. And, I agree…8-9 weeks is the perfect size!

Good to know! I may need to look into those! Thanks
Great idea with the toothpick. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Wisconsin. Karen 🙂
It has been a lifesaver when dealing with those tiny herb seeds.
I have never done soil blocking but you have inspired me to give it a try! Another great video!
Give it a try and let me know what you think!

The pig is pregnant, too 😂
Thank you! That tooth pick seed picking up trick is really cool I’m gonna give it a try🌻💜🌻
You’ll love it!

Awesome score on the lunch trays! I’m jealous of your dumpster find 😂

I drill holes in some of my 1020 trays and put another one without holes below it to bottom water the soil blocks
Good idea! Just saw Bootstrap Farmer has some mesh bottom inserts for 1020 trays that would work perfect, too
Good call on the tin, static cling is a pain!
Yes! Learned it from Lisa Mason Ziegler

All of my tomatoes and peppers are officially started🙌. Now, on to other seeds 🤪

Hey, Angela! I bet you’ll have some success with your seed starting. Seeds can be pretty forgiving depending on the type of seed 😉
@@BerkeleyFarms I'm going to give it a whirl we shall see🤗

@@BerkeleyFarms The cube inserts can be for the 2 inch blocks to go into a larger one or for the little 20 cell to go into the 2 inch as well.
I would think that tomatoes would grow into neighboring soil blocks making it harder to transplant
They will. You just break them apart. Way easier than pulling individual plants out of plug trays
I have heard people finding the lunch trays at thrift stores too.
Excellent idea!

Yep! 😂😉
