It would be very helpful if the vid also talks about what to expect next (eg. how long does the plant grow out? what's the watering need after the initial planting?).
I have six pots of daylilies in the front garden in partial shade and they bloom in July. I give them tomato food from April until August and water them when the top inch is dry.
Its June in Texas and the daily high temps are 100 to 105. I've got some daylilies bulbs/roots. should I wait to plant them? Can they be stored until next Spring?
I would suggest planting them now despite the heat. The longest I’ve successfully held onto them is about 2 months - in a plastic bag of peat moss in the fridge
I just dug up my day lilies. Should I store them like I would amaryllis? Or should I trim and plant into a container for winter time? I’m redoing my beds in the spring. Thank you.
hi greg. i would suggest storing them in peat moss or perlite! check out the video i did on storing canna lilies a few weeks back, i would do something like that
hello I purchased some , when i opened the box the foliage on some has grown a lot already, at least 8-12 inches. will it still flower once its in the ground? or should I return them?
@@plantvibrations oh yeah pllenty of deer, but the other plants including tulips were ok. I also have tons of racoons, groundhogs, squirrels, rabbits everything. I fear the rainstorms is what flooded and rotted the daylily roots which is a huge bummer after $150 and lots of sweat and tears . I'm trying again, just put 23 new ones into half sunk pots last week, hope they make it 🙏🏼
Great informative video on Daylilies. Please make an update video when they start blooming.
awesome! will do!

You’re right, I should redo this video
@@plantvibrations Thanks! Looking forward to it. :)

Great tips!
I got daylily roots from Walmart. Will they bloom in the first year or not until next year?
its possible that they could give a couple flowers the first year, but not highly likely

Foliage already growing is a great sign
I planted 4 this spring, I have green leaves should I expect blooms
Probably not just yet
I dug up a few daylilies to move them. I noticed they had tubers. Could I divide each tuber or do I need to keep them all intact?
hi Maria. yes you can absolutely divide them. this is a great time to divide and replant before the frosts start to come
I planted 14 daylilies last Oct in PA zone 7a, nothing has emerged. Did I botch everything?😭
Do you have deer?
