He and William Jonathan Drayton Jr. met on campus and received much of their early knowledge from Ujima Jame. When my book Harlem Son was published Chuck had me on his radio show, and my sales went through the roof, and I was able to retire. May God continue to bless this wonderful, talented brother.

The first few years I attended 50 book festivals and was a staple at the Harlem Book Fair where I sold my book retail. Met Chuck a few times over the years and this interview reminded me of my feelings each time I was in his presence. I just sat there and listened. I couldn’t think of any question to ask.
