It's like me in my shiny X Cub and the only difference is that my jealous ass is sitting in MSFS VR!:D Love your videos. Such a beautifull place to live! Greets from PL!
Outstanding! 29 years with the Forest Service and it was great seeing Idaho from the air. Why would you take up golfing, etc, when you can get a bush plane and see this?
🔥EPIC!🔥 After 14 yrs since last flight, started the trek to knock off the rust and bore holes in the atmosphere again. Your videos are so encouraging. To experience flight, more importantly to share that experience. ❤️🔥😎 Pre-preflightreview last week at KBDN, amazing how much “pilotage” retained in 14 yrs, 👍😎 also not surprising how much rust accumulated😳😬, in particular pattern work in a busy non towered airport. Looking forward to making some of these eastern OR, ID, UT back country flights.
Lots of places to go fly in camping! Overnight stays would be high on my list of things to do. I'm rebuilding/repairing/upgrading my Challenger 2 on amphibious floats, and posting videos now of that progress. One day I hope to post adventures like this for everyone to enjoy. Cheers from Winnipeg.
WOW very well done! Your videography skills are becoming next level! Great Job! That trip is on my bucket list thanks for sharing it keeps the dream alive!
You keep surpassing yourself - truely epic Bro (epic edit too - was wondering what you'd been up to since your teaser!) Where do you manage to find all these great pictures?! Good to see you hanging out with an expert stone thrower - or maybe that should be the king of stone throwers! Also good to see Simonds - was wondering what the big four are; Simonds, Mile High? Dewey Moore? I vote DM for next year...
@@GravityKnightFlying A challenge for sure, but for a safe pilot like yourself a few high level scopes, and in... Looks like a really great camping spot too! ; )
agreed! first for me. those big sandbars were sure hard to not go land on..... wish it was legal, amazing spot. i think I'll be back up there to film some more of that at some point...
I like it better. It runs as smooth or smoother in normal flight, although when you slip it or do something to mis-align the prop from the oncoming air, you then feel the "pulsyness" of only having 2 blades. It also has that NR whine or hum at around 5400ish engine rpm that is kind of interesting. Sounds way better from the ground from what I can tell. Impressively lightweight. Good mix of pull and cruise with the 2 blade. A bit longer would be even better. 3 blades do pull quite a bit harder from what I'm told... but I'm sure cruise would take a hit.
Awesome videos! Just subscribed! I am jazzed to get in to this. Starting my Light Sport certification training next week, and am in the market now for a used plane!!
Having your own hanger will be wonderful for spring summer flying but I’d probably still leave it at the airport for the winter so you could fly on nice days.
Hi. I was trying to get a view of your panel to see cruise and fuel burn, be cool to pan over the panel so we can see your numbers once in a while. Another would be to see how all the stuff is packed into the back of the plane and what you take with you. A nice video otherwise and great sound track. Just subed and look forward to seeing more.
very kind!, Trent does excellent work.. Trent also was more so one of the first guys in the aviation community to really put effort into vlog style videos. I don't know how he managed to capture so many people outside of the aviation community but he did... he's definitely better at marketing himself than I am myself. thx jeffro
New subscriber. Enjoying your videos but would really appreciate some wind protection on the mics for your cameras. The wind noise can be almost deleted with the right wind protection.
not a bad idea, might be able to rig that up on the inside cam, which would be good to have.. the outside ones go in special cases so doubt there is any way to prevent it on those...
Thank you. I really enjoyed this video. Beautiful scenery, excellent content! What is your estimate of the HP rating of your engine? I thought at one time you had reduced the boost. Thanks again for the wonderful entertainment.
If you were getting 500 out of these strips it would be fine for most of them, but a lot of factors there (climb angle, turn radius required etc.). What are you flying? Johnson creek is 5000ft high. Many of the others are around that, some are lower. There are a few that are higher in the 7k range up there, but Wilson Bar for example is 2300ish. So they vary. Density altitudes can be pretty high at times, like in this video it was unusually hot up there.
@@GravityKnightFlying thanks for replying it’s all very interesting. It would be awhile before I would get out there. You will laugh but I fly a Pietenpol two seater with a 100 hp corvair engine at 0 to 1000 ft MSL I might get 600 ft per min or a little more It does pretty good at 3000 but I would have to do some experiments first if where talking 5 to 7000 plus density .’ I might need a bigger engine what do you think ? Thanks 👍
@@onthemoney7237 You have the right idea about doing plenty of testing beforehand. Load it up heavy on a hot day and see what you get at high DA in a safe environment. What does the plane weigh empty? Time of day can make a huge difference in a situation like that (temperature). Keeping it as light as possible when in the mountains is big. Letting the wind help you etc. Hot afternoon in the mountains with a tail wind could be disastrous. A lot of those strips up there could be scary with a low climb rate, but some of them are lower like Moose Creek for example. If you took off on a cool morning, it would be a whole different situation than coming out of Johnson creek with a tail wind in the afternoon. Stuff like that. But I would stack the deck against yourself on a safe runway and do a little testing if you can and see what you have. More HP is always better, unless it comes at the cost of a lot of extra weight. Keeping them light goes a long ways too. But you can work around being a little underpowered with utilizing the conditions. I spent a lot of effort and money to have enough power to claw through about anything at any altitude, but it was quite expensive and involved to do so.

I’d be fishing that close to the river, that river by Johnson is rated blue ribbon for trout

Is this Big Creek just east of Kellogg?
Getting done building a Titan 240 Rans S21 Bush Trike 22 mains 850 nose. Would it land at all these places? Got about 1000 hrs, all trike.
