Oh, I know that from somewhere. My uncle was the golden child, my father was told at the big family dinner on his parents' 50th wedding anniversary “We had to get married because of you!” ... because my grandparents, who were almost minors at the time, were shagging in the hay at the Christmas farmers' festival would have been the truth. My uncle's wife, unfortunately my godmother, is also a terrible person. We went NC to my grandparents because we couldn't take the hate any more. First my grandmother died (we said goodbye in the hospital, blood is thicker than water) and my grandfather died almost exactly a year later and in both cases my father found out about it from third parties, not from the family. My aunt was unpopular everywhere in the neighborhood a village away and on the day my grandfather was buried she shouted loud enough for the neighbors to hear through the garden that they were going to sell my grandparents' house and squander the inheritance and my father wouldn't get a cent. That same day, my father had a call with a hidden number, a neighbor who told him everything and the next day he was at the lawyer's office. With the exception of ten thousand euros for the “grave care” that my uncle received in addition, they had to share the inheritance equally. My cousin married very big a year later, only to have her husband kicked out three months later because she was pregnant by another guy - they tried to lie but the truth got to everyone quicker. My aunt was so ashamed, she worked at the local supermarket for 25 years and was looking for a new job. Her part of the family is shunned by the village community, but especially by all the other family members. If I met her by chance (I live 50 mi away), I would spit at her as I walked past. Oh yes, they couldn't spend a lot of the money because the roof of their house suddenly broke and a huge tree fell on the house during a storm and smashed the former part of the barn that had been converted into a kitchen and the new kitchen was also ruined and I heard that the insurance only paid the residual value, not the new price. I love karma so much.

Story 3: OP was the only reason they were able to stay together and he lets his wife disrespect her like that? In her own home!?! I would bet you this is exactly why no one else wanted to let them stay despite being closer to brother's work
