I've been playing Japanese Mahjong for quite a while now, and have always had an interest in trying out the other versions, too, at least once. If I ever get the chance to go to the US, trying out American Mahjong is definitely on my to-do list.

We are beginners at the game. If one needs 4 winds of the same suit such as 4 wests, and if there are 3 jokers in the hand, if we pick a west can we claim Mah Jongg? (3 Jokers and a West)

japanese is the best but American Mah Jongg is not a bad one

agreed, i learned how to play classic Chinese, and now i only play Riichi, and i don't find it very hard to play, american rules forget it i won't touch them with a 9 3/4 pole. plus Riichi is more fun and your not looking down at a card that has ever changing hands every year that you need to buy
