Hey fez, Hope you been well mate.
So 2:43 there was a no right turn sign, not sure the time, but must've been when no turn was enforced.
3:00 dont matter if you roll forwards, he crossed into the intersection when light was red - thats a $500 odd fine and like 3 demerit points to your license.
3:13 the Mercedes indicated and moved into the lane a little, then noticed car coming and lane changed once they passed but theyd still failed to give way id imagine in the eyes of the cop, then they still had wheels over the centre line so probably got fail to maintain lane as well.
4:17 He even had a slip lane to turn left, cause yeah, we harldy have any turn on red allowed intersections here in Aus.
5:00 that cop car is a divvy van (dog box) has lock up box on the back that they lock offenders in while transporting them to the station. Only really fibreglass bench seat and bars back there.
The highway server at 7min... not only cut off a cop, but changed lanes with no indicator twice and depending on their attitude when speaking with the cop, they'll likely get something for the brake check.
8:18 they were obstructing traffic... they likely wouldve seen the left lane slowing and becoming congested, but thought they'd be a hero and try push in 100m down the line for the turn.. they guy in the "truck" wasnt being a dick.. he waited and let a spot open but by then the SUV was already flanked by blue.
9:05 e-scooters aren't allowed to travel faster than 15km/h, and aren't supposed to be on public roads, and I dont think he had a helmet - which is also illegal in Aus... the cop in the slip lane definitely said something to him.
15:00 they turned fine, they had a slip lane to turn left with care... what they didnt have were headlights on.
Hope you have a good one mate and look forward to your next vid. 💜🇦🇺

G'day Phezz. The car that drove down a dead end road and saw a lone cop on foot, was trying to evade a roadside breathalser. The cops hide down side streets to catch people doing exactly that. The cop car you liked and called a Truck or minivan, we call it a Divvy van. Also Cops hate seeing people travelling In Bus or Tram lines. I got done (when I was much younger) The fine said Endangering the lives of Tram passengers. Because I drove down the Tram tracks in Punt Rd Richmond. It’s not required for people to have dash cams in our car, people just get them for safety purposes if they’re involved in or witness a car accident. Cops don’t attend car accidents unless someone is injured. The car at 2:50 turned right into that dead end street even though there was a sign saying no right turn. The car at 3:08 went through a red light and stopped in the intersection. The one at 3:41 the white car almost hit the car beside him when trying to change lanes. 4:01 the car went through a red light, the only time you can turn on a red light is if there is a sign stating left on red permitted after stopping. 4:20 the car turned left and cut in front of another car. 5:50 multiple cars turned right running a red light. 7:50 car had green light to go straight but was but was trying to sneak in and holding up traffic trying to get into left hand lane, that’s why they got caught by the cops. 8:40 car was driving down the shoulder. 9:07 guy was riding scooter on road instead of available footpath blocking of cars, opposite side of the road was a cop on a motorcycle which caught the scooter rider and called him over. 13:28 car directly in front of cop car turned right through a red light when coming from opposite direction. Motorcycle at 14:12 was speeding. 14:50 car didn’t slow down on yellow arrow and continued through light. 15:40 car in rear view mirror speeding. 16:25 car turned right through red light. 16:36 car ran red light in front of cop, which happens a lot here in Australia. 18:34 car driving in bus lane, which is illegal. They can only use bus lane for 100m when entering or leaving a road or when overtaking a car waiting to turn right. Only vehicles allowed to use bus lanes are buses, taxis, hire-cars that have Hire car plates and emergency service vehicles. The lanes usually go for over 1km or 0.62 miles, they are marked at the start of the lane by a sign, and on the road every 100m. Some cars use it to get ahead of the traffic.

I'm a little late, so these have all probably already been solved for you but...
2:41 Was a _"No right turn"_ intersection, just like 11:25.
3:00 The car opposite jumped the red light
3:10 The Mercedes didn't look before changing lanes & cut off the Mazda
3:55 & 4:15 & 14:45 No Australia doesn't have a 'left on red' rule. Turning left is dictated by either a green light/arrow or a slip lane that by-passes the lights & instead has a _"Turn left at any time with care"_ sign, which just means you need to yield to all traffic coming from the right but otherwise can turn left no matter what colour the lights are.
7:52 The grey Lexus was blocking a lane of traffic by trying to push in to the queue of cars in the turning lane.
If you need to turn at an intersection, you have to get into the proper lane as early as you can. If you miss your opportunity to get into the correct lane, you're supposed to keep going until you reach either the next turn or a safe place to do a legal u-turn.
8:40 The white van was driving down the shoulder.
9:02 Electric scooters aren't road legal. The rider knocked *himself* off by brake checking the car, then he crossed paths with a motorcycle cop & got in trouble.
19:02 I'm sure a "confused foreigner" would be let off with a warning👍even though the giant 'Bus Lane' letters & the fact no one else was using it, _should_ be obvious😉

to answer your first question, no we are not required to have dash cams on our cars its just an extra layer of insurance or coverage for us, and police do not come out to fender benders or even small accidents unless they physically see it or someone got hurt, all you do is give your details to the other driver and vice versa and then move on and provide their details to your insurance company or if you don't have insurance then the norm is to ring them up and offer them a payout of how much the mechanic quotes the repairs

  • @eXcalibre_
    @eXcalibre_ Год назад +4

Reason Australia doesn’t have Left on Red is because some intersections have U-turns permitted so they would conflict with each other; other reason is because the turn would put your vehicle in-front of traffic that is already moving at speed and they don’t want your slow turn to cause them to slow down. Though Australia has a lot of intersections with slip lanes for the left turn which has a give way sign anyway

NSW got Chrysler 300s & few types of BMW as cop cars, other states got Kia Stingers. All states tested Mustangs & they failed in every state, they were dumping transmission fluid(all cop cars are automatic in Aus), only reason why we even have Mustangs in Aus was because the police were interested, they actually don't pass the minimum crash safety to be sold here but they got an exemption.

We have highways & motorways, highways are two lanes each way at most & the speed limits can be variable according to road surface, curves, going through towns etc, Motorways(also called freeways) are wider, straighter, flatter, & usually support consistent speeds of 110km/h(68mph), but the speed limits can be electronically varied down to 90km/h(55mph) for road works or traffic congestion.

Yeah as a general rule here it's opposite to the USA with the short turns. You guys can turn right on red unless it's prohibited by a sign. at 3:04 he crept up until his whole car was in the intersection which is basically running a red light since his whole car went past the line, next clip shows the Mercedes cut off someone trying to turn into that lane. at 8:00 he is impeding a whole lane of traffic from going forward trying to cut into that left Hand lane which im guessing is the reason he is being pulled over for. It is illegal to turn left on a red unless a sign says you can which are very uncommon here. Theres a few places that do but I know of only one spot which is 10 mins away from me where you are allowed to.

5:00 When the cop cars are in ute form, they are called divvy vans.
12:14 Australia typically has signals overhead on the front and each corner, sort of a mix of UK and a bit of Europe. Europe is the opposite of America which I find weird.
Also sometimes No Right Turn (and low speed zones) are signalled using a variable regulatory sign which flashes thick red in case that happens. They are also sometimes used in School Zones which make it easier to read the times the speed is on, and sometimes even stay on but flash or not flash in and out of hours.
15:18 Yes unless you are in a slip lane with the arrows off (or very rarely signed). Some people confuse that rule thinking that a red straight forward is a red left and hold up traffic. In almost all states but not quite it is also illegal to u-turn at a signal unless signed. There is also a implicit give way rule when green with no arrows when turning into oncoming traffic.

I think in the scooter one it's implied that it was the scooter rider that got karma, it is actually completely illegal to use those in public outside of parks so the attitude tends to be that anything that happens to them on the street is fair game, I don't agree with that to that extent, still don't think it's cool to nudge a scooter rider with your car.

Your comments at 19:32 reminded me of something. I live in Perth and back in 1998 I visited Melbourne and "attempted" to drive with the trams, this was fun but nerve racking at first. Melbourne CBD has something called a "hook turn" where if you need to turn right, you do so from the left. When on green, you move across and sit in front of the cars of the road you want to turn right on. (ruclips.net/video/Yh92LirlCf8/видео.html&ab_channel=VicRoads). When I did it, the road I left the light went red so I proceed across as I thought the process was. I was pulled over by the Police for running a red light and when I gave them my WA drivers license they asked how long I had been in Melbourne, at this point 2 days. He then educated me on the process of a hook turn and let me off with a warning. From then on, I did them right, but tried my hardest to avoid them.

We can't turn on any red light you get fined on orange if they think you can stop it's upto cop
Most those was they stop with indicator on blocking traffic because all lanes are marked either turn left or right and you must turn other lane straight so when they stop in wrong lane to turn your busted and they will do you for the smallest infringement no indicator their hot on speed lane change tail gating traffic cop cars are set up with mobile radar on vechiles that's reads your speed while driving and have number plate readers checking for registration warrants stolen vechiles the 300 are srt8 high pursuit vechiles Normally in nsw
The one caught doing burnout from lights vechiles get impounded and lose of licence on the spot and court visit for judge to determine how long you loose your licence for and how steep of fine then when you can get your vechile some held a week others a month you have to pay to get it back towing fees and hold fees in the thousand's same for drink driving 🚘
those red light runners around $600 and points on your licence
Fine are high and so are points foe most traffic infringement if you don't pay any fine including parking they cancell your licence and registration until you pay the fines
