If this means we get some quality-of-life updates for older content left on the wayside such as Biker Businesses, the Vehicle Warehouse, and Arena War, then I'm all for it.
Not every new update needs to include a 5 million dollar property and 20 supercars. I mean hell, we're running out of places to put new properties as it is!

That's a pretty decent tradeoff, I don't think many of us old-genners use the editor much. I'm sure some do, but most of us barely have time for missions let alone the editor. I think old gen is mostly us dad types that still like to play in our spare time
The game is unplayable on old consoles. I have seen footage of how poorly it performs. Rockstar did this on purpose to get people to buy a PS5/Xbox Series console

I'm quite surprised that they're even going to keep support going this year at all, I assumed that they would announce the end of old gen support after the chop shop update, but here we are.

@@AL3X1KUS It's unplayable on the fat and slim PS4 yes but it's fine on the PS4 Pro since that's a more powerful console with boost mode. I can't speak for Xbox though i don't have one and never will it's just not my kind of console i'm a PS player and always have been.
Finally PC isn't seen as old gen. Just hope we'd get expanded and enhanced. Or enhanced, not really expanded.

PC probably won't be considered as current-gen until Rockstar blocks GTA 5 on PCs which *do not have ray tracing capable GPUs or 8GB VRAM* to at least match the raw horsepower of the new consoles, which doesn't seem to be likely...

I saw someone say something like "I'm a ps4 player but I dont mind, Im going to be upgrading anyway, the PS5 has been out for three years now. I just won't have the editor for a few months". That type of complacency is annoying. Would you be okay with a car company removing your stereo because your car is ten years old and the new model has been out for three years? That guy would be like, "Welp, guess I just won't have my stereo for a while until a buy a new one". Ridiculous. Just like removing the cars was to "streamline the websites". No, you just want people to buy a new console and E&E. I'm surprised they didn't remove it from PC. But by doing that, they've low key admitted that PC can handle E&E, but yet won't bring that over.

They mentioned previously that we can store stolen Chop Shop cars yet we can't do that.

While the Chop Shop DLC was decent , DLCs after Criminal Enterprises were straight away mediocre , and likely 2024 DLCs will be as mid as Mercenaries so... nah

There will probably be far better heists in GTA 6 but obviously, judging from RD Online, it'll be much more grindy than GTAO.

I honestly forgot Rockstar Editor was a thing (tho i did use it on the PS4 to try to recreate the garage tutorial mission from Driver 1). But still, its always a shame when studios remove features from their games.
Though I never used it and moved onto Series X, it sucks R* being R* and removing a feature; even though idk how the editor is affecting DLC updates if current gen isn’t affected by it. I’m wondering if R* is doing it to force people relying on the editor to upgrade to next gen; also makes one wonder how big the updates will be, like Beach Bum sized lol
What I’m thinking is that all the clips that millions of players stored is making their servers full? Or something like that idk

I’ll admit rockstar does milk this game in a lot of ways like GTA plus, but to say this is a bad move is werid. This has to be one of the best decisions I’ve seen them make……. And that’s saying a lot

I never really understood the system and I never needed to use the Rockstar editor because I would just capture everything with the built-in capture card and then edit it in share factory.
So to conclude I rather give that feature up than vehicles or other stuff that's in the game to get more future content or support, even for a pretty old console.
You forgot to mention they're disabling to play on Windows 7 and 8 as well in couple months.

I never did do to Rockstar Editor at all on PS3 and PS4. I’m happy I can still do so for my PS5, but I feel bad about this.

Game development is weird and the game is pretty old with a spaghetti ass code so that's probably the reason but we can't be sure...

I really don’t have a ps5 slim, because instead, I got a fake ps5 which was the worst Christmas gift I had. I have to consider a new ps5 slim at some point because it’s nearly time for me to move on from my ps4.

I love R* editor, but seeing it have to go because of an update sucks. To normal people, it may not matter, but for people who like making cinematics like me, this is an awful change imo

Essa função não prejudicava ninguém ali. Tu podia ser qualquer NPC, qualquer animal e ainda por cima, ser seu personagem do online, se imortal e controlar o tempo, como se fosse um Modo Menu feita pela Rockstar.
At first I thought they were doing this as another way scummy to encourage people to get GTA expanded and enhanced. But if this is truly the only way for them to continue to support old gen then I guess it is what it is even though it doesn't really make too much sense to me I don't understand why they would have to change something that never was a problem before unless we're going to be getting some of the biggest updates we ever had before this year. I just wish there were some sort of way to save your project and move them to next gen

Im glad PS4 is still supported though. Its just powerful enough to play some modern games at a lower resolution and I think it should have had a longer lifespan. So many modern games run just fine on it like Cyberpunk after the last patch and GTA story mode looks amazing on the PS4.

Removing Rockstar editors is ridiculous to hear. But at the same time it makes sense wise even though older gen does not exist anymore to begin with for those features.
I hope that rockstar will give us more news on GTA VI.
Don’t forget trophies/achievements though. This will affect for who haven’t earn them yet.
UPDATE: I've been informed by my friend whom owns a PS5 that the Rockstar Editor is also gone from the next gen version.
This is completely ridiculous from Rockstar, as someone from the Rockstar Editor Community. It makes me lose hope that we'll even get the Rockstar Editor in GTA6, this is a lot of peoples creative outlets and Rockstar removing that from those people shows how things won't be any different with GTA 6 and Rockstar won't care to cater towards their fans and players alike. It's only about money at the end of the day and the Rockstar Editor isn't a money maker so it had to go.
I would’ve taken Rockstar Editor over Online updates any day.

I absolutely love messing around in the editor and taking pictures (hell I was just earlier) so this sucks since I'm on last gen, I'm kinda tempted to say it's bullshit and they're just trying to push more people to new gen, but maybe it really is because of hardware limits.
Well maybe it's time to give it a rest and get a PS5 or better yet a PC .

I guess I’m glad I moved to PS5. Without the editor I’m pretty sure I would just stop playing the game. After 10 years it’s a core part of what I like about the game and it’s something no one else does.

@@jessehassell1864 I didn’t start using it right away for the same reason. I didn’t get how it worked. Then I saw a tutorial video, started using it for photos, then making videos to share with the share with the friends I play with. It helps keep the game interesting after thousands of hours.
The only RUclipsr to give a sensible view on this adding new content is more important than a terrible video editor, its not Rockstars fault Xbox is 20 years behind in video recording you cant even plug a mic into one.

Well he does, and he ain't coming back. It's just like he said. He's an established actor, and Trevor is "just a cartoon". He gets very pissed off if he gets called Trevor instead of Steven, which i totally get since he's been hearing nothing but "Trevor" for the last 10 years

I think the majority of people that used Rockstar Editor was content creators but now they all play PC or current gen.

First of all, rockstar will still updating gta online since for the very first days there won't be an online mode .
Second of all, they would still update gta online because gta 6 online would have barely to no content at all

I still play on my year one Xbox One and dont really experience these issues, but i don't play as much as i used to either like back in the Xbox 360 days so the upgrade just hasnt been worth it to me yet.

I don't use the Rockstar Editor that much. The last time I used Rockstar editor and made a two minute cinematic movie was last month. It is unfortunate that it'll be removed from the previous gen consoles.
How do you request the anti aircraft, I know you used to be able to before the interaction menu changed but I can’t find it anymore

@@UltimatelyEverything I’ve actually managed to figure it out, you have to return your personal vehicle and then request it from the special vehicles section in the vehicle management, which sucks because you can’t connect it to your own personal vehicle anymore

That's the real reason they refuse to update the PC version, they want another $60-70 for you to access the latest features, and if you have to spend $500 on a console for the privilege of giving them more money, no skin off their teeth, except all the lost PC revenue anyway.
