I haven’t tried the Boston 12, but Boston 10 and 11 are by far my favorite running shoes ever, I tend to look for more stable shoes for long runs since I tend to over pronation in my left leg. Nice review of the shoes tho! Thanks for sharing
Hi there and thanks for helping to build the community by leaving a comment. I've recently put one of my athletes in that same shoe and so far so good!
I recently bought a pair of Endorphins Speed 3 and today the Bostons 11 are sold at a 30% discount price which I intend to take advantage of. After your review I think its a great buy for under $100. Great video!
Thanks for the video, I have just ordered a pair of the 11 and am looking forward to testing them out. Like you I got them at a steep discount. My previous two pairs were Nike Rival Fly 2 and 3, of which I prefer the 2 due to the lighter weight. They are both decent shoes, and fairly cheap. I thought the Boston 11 would be more suited to longer runs which I intend to be doing in the coming year. My only suggestion would be if you could also state the weights in grams. Most of the world does not use ounces. It would be very useful. Thanks!
Thanks for adding your comments, I’m happy to show both ounces and grams in future videos. I hope the Boston 11s work well for you! I’ve done many long runs in them and working on a follow up video after they hit the 100 mile mark.
Thanks for this review. I really love my 1080v 10 11 & 12s but they are ALL a little too soft for long runs ( that Goldilocks amount of cushioning is gard to find ). I'm gonna have to give my best shoes award to the novablast 3 , the cushioning is just right and you can do any distance or speed. 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
So happy that you found the channel and thanks for subscribing! I am new to this RUclips stuff but having fun learning. Lots of cool stuff coming soon. Anything in particular that you’re curious about or would like to see?
The more I run in the 11s and 12s the more I appreciate them each for what they are. 11s feel so stable and the 12s feel much more like a race shoe. Hoping that the 13s come with a bit more padding in the upper to keep them feeling like a trainer.
Great shoe! Low stack, nice and light with plenty of cushion. Curious about your experience with its durability- have you gotten as many miles out of the shoe that you planned?
@@TZCJames shoe is really wonderful.. I already marked 1000 km in that shoe. Still running.... having great stability....thanks for replying the message..
I go with the ASICS nimbus 25 and the hoka Mach x, really considering these. I had the 11s and liked them a lot, may have to pick these up. Do you think adding a Boston 12 into this rotation would work well, thanks for the vid, great quality and straight to the point
Thanks for contributing to the community with a question and comment. I'm glad that you enjoyed the video :) If you've got the Nimbus 25 and the Mach X you may have what you need as far as a rotation goes for daily trainers. I think the Boston 12 could fit into the mix if you were about to replace one of those and that it would feel a bit more up tempo than either of those. If you're training for a race I'd consider adding a shoe into the mix for Tempo Runs/Intervals etc and for that I'd look at the Adidas Takumi Sens lineup- lightweight with plenty of responsiveness and great for turning the legs over.
Thanks for contributing to the community with a comment & question- it's very helpful! I am happy to add those two shoes onto the list for possible review. Racing shoes will definitely be lighter than daily trainers, the Deviate 2 is about .3oz lighter than the Boston 12 and the Novablast 3 is .5 of an ounce lighter than the Boston 12 so will be interesting to see how they feel. I've recently tested the Vapor Fly 2 & Vapor Fly 3 (6.5oz) - check out that video if you haven't already.
Great review, one question, I have the Boston 12. I use them for long runs and my legs feel great afterwards. I am 61YO. The question.. I run first thing in the morning around 0500. In fact first couple of kilometres the Boston 12 feel BOTTOM heavy and clunky.. After the warmup they soften up and adjust to me.. SO. does the shoe midsole heat up during the first few minutes and become softer or is it my body adjusting to the harder Lighstrike in the heel ❓
Thanks for the compliment and for contributing to the channel with your question. To answer your question I think about a few things. First, we know that midsole foams are designed to contract and rebound, what I'll call "squishyness" so the notion of it feeling softer as you get deeper into a run makes sense to me. I also notice, in most of my shoes, a similar sensation. However; I also know from my time running in minimalist shoes (a while back and not something I enjoyed) that my body would indeed adjust to the shoe the further I got into a run. SO- I think the answer to your particular question is ..... Both.
Any areas of the upper that can rub? Has No issues with Boston 10-11 and Pro 2 but the Pro 3 has the first 2 eyelets that made them unusable for a marathon as rubbing was painful? With added material under the laces for my foot.
Hey there- I have no issues with rubbing from the upper. Curious- do you think the added material under the laces added a bit of friction that ultimately led to more irritation & pain than you would have had without it (ie- just the eyelet discomfort)?
@@TZCJames yes, on the adiozero Pro 3 it has large attached material for the first 2 laces. It’s inside the shoe of course so had no idea till I purchased and ran in them. I don’t know what they were thinking but I have higher volume feet but still never had this issue in 25 years of running Lol. The previous version had none of this and actually fit higher or wider feet for a racing shoe.

For somebody like me who can't afford 2 shoes, I just use Boston11 for both training and racing day.
You really can’t go wrong with any of these shoes! What’s most important is that you’re having fun out there :)

My favorite daily trainer shoe is the New Balance 1080 v12. Good cushoning, not too heavy, great fit and cool design.

My only experience w/ adidas is the UB 19 & 21. Sold BOTH of them firm junkers after one run each. Hard to chance it again w/ adidas.

These compared to the Supernova Rise?

the foam could also be temperature sensitive
