Woodturning a Platter from a Stunning piece of Spalted Beech

Welcome to the channel everyone, In this video I turn a 13 inch Platter from a Stunning piece of Spalted Beech the piece was finished with Hampshire Sheen Citrus Burnishing Oil to give it that perfect finish.

Great looking platter Will. That Beech sure looks like it turns nice. I buy European Beech for 3D carvings on my milling machine and really like how it works. Should turn something out of it.
But it is kiln dried and only 1 1/16 inch thick.

I agree, a stunning piece of wood but the shape and design really makes it. Love the elegance. I got the lemon oil and its great, I''ll get the citrus burnishing oil next. A brilliant finish and I bet it smells just as good. I made the handles for my burning wire this morning. Thank you.

Thanks very much Rachel, the lemon oil and the citrus burnishing are some of my favourites and the smell does be around the workshop for days,
Glad you made handles for the burn wire it's a lot safer than holding a piece of wire in your hands, happy and safe turning,
