I cried my eyes out when the three arrived in India and were greeted by the Indian people, just wow. The director delivered very very well. IT felt real, my goodness.
I suffered when they suffered. I was relieved when they were relieved. This movie changed my attitude towards life. It taught me to value our life irrespective of our wealth and background. So positive.
YES EVEN I FEL THE SAME.. BUT THIS FILM IS NOT THE EXACT STORY TAKEN FROM THE BOOK.. HALF OF THE PLOT IS IMAGINARY.. YET A GOOD FILM TO WATCH.. THEY MISSED OUT THEIR WILD EXPERIENCE IN HIMALAYAS AND THEIR WITNESS TO THE YETIS (SNOW MAN)
@@indudharduggu741 I want to read the book, because of your comments! I want to know the true story. Is the true story written by the Polish guy who, at the end of the movie, was shown to be finally getting back to his wife?
Dari semua film petualangan yg saya tonton hanya film THE WAY BACK yg paling saya suka, saya serasa terbawa ke suasana perjalanan tersebut, saya suka banget film ini tak pernah bosan walaupun saya tonton berulang" Salam from Indonesia.
Yes, beautifuly made film.Lots of painstaking detail. But the makers failed to do the most important bit of research. That is, was Slawomir Rawicz telling the truth when he wrote the book? Look up the Wikipaedia article on the story & you'll see what I mean. Among the doubters was Eric Shipton. Eric was THE expert on Himalayan mountains (For example, exploring unknown areas on the other side of K2). He was completely unconvinced by Slawomir when questioning him about the terrain he'd claimed he'd passed through. Eric knew the same area very well, and when he'd been British consul in Kashgar, had climbed & explored there. Another serious doubter, mentioned in the footnotes of Ann Applebaum's Pullitzer. Prize winning book about the Gulag, was Veniamin Ioffe. Until Putin's thugs got to him he was director of St. Petersburg Memorial, the Russian human rights group, an expert on the gulag. He corresponded with Slawomir, notes Anne, but was unconvinced by his story. People have died, and are still dying, trying to reveal the truth in Russia. We dont need fake news or yarns, from whatever angle its being related.
Incorporating the yeti interaction thru the Himalayas would be to much humble pie than mankind can handle, the fact that a race of neantheral cryptids exist and quite comfortably at that, watching over them is beyond commercial mainstream comprehension, the realisation that mankind's native origins are more primitive than we dare to perceive or are ready to accept.
Storytellers look for the explicable - not the baffling. It would have distracted from the main plot line. Imagine putting a Yeti into any kind of war story - derails the viewers attention completely.

I really really really love this movie
love the ending and really emotional to think about Janusz long walk over fifty years till the end of the Soviet communism..........
موسيقي تصويرية في قمة الروعة تجعل عينيك تدمع روعة روعة
"Naam naam ya akhi" you are absolutely right same emotions are every one who washed this movie...
I really missed Valka in other half of the movie , i really wanted him to join them....
really sad for Mr Smith, once he lost his son then his so called daughter Irena died infront of him
Very interesting movie
20:22 it looks like it was been cut from planet earth deserts. It looks very similar to it.

The main point is that the Director didn't just rely on the book. He spoke with 12 survivors as part of immense general research needed

I was very disappointed with the movie. If you've read the book, then you'll know why
@Amélie Vouteau I haven't heard that. Personally I believe the authors story to be true
@Aubrey Danity The fact is nobody really knows.Attempts to verify the story failed.
The book it self isn't writer story, he stole from actual man in Poland
Epic adventures rarely translate well from paper and print onto film, do they?
